Summary: The Best Live-Action Family Film Ever!
Review: My parents took me to see THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER back when it was first released. It was phenomenal on the big screen, a true classic with gorgeous scenery, a great story and a wonderful double performance by Kirk Douglas. Since it's doubtful the movie will ever get re-released on the big screen, we must settle for the video version. Okay, it's not letterboxed, so the great widescreen images are cropped for television, (and one need only look at the opening sequence, which is letterboxed, to appreciate what you're missing in the rest of the movie). But despite this drawback, the movie is an astonishing accomplishment, and it should be on every family's video shelf. (Hey, Fox, how about a widescreen DVD version. It would sell like hotcakes.)

Review: Any fan of horses or adventure will enjoy this family movie. The equestrian scenes are exciting and heartstopping and the scenery is beautiful. I wonderful movie for the entire family, young and old.

Summary: What a Great Movie!
Review: This is definitely one of the best movies ever made. The music is gorgeous, the stunts are amazing, and the acting is excellent. Tom Burlinson plays the man of the title. Kirk Douglas is great as crusty old Harrison and his brother Spur (he has a dual role). The scene where Jim jumps down the mountain always gives me the chills. It's such an amazing stunt! Being a rider myself, I know that took a wonderful stuntman and a very talented and trusting horse. Definitely a must see if you love pretty music, a good story, amazing scenery, and horses!

Review: Though the critics (out of peer pressure) call the storyline simplistic, the themes within this movie portray the essence of what it means to be human. Courage, independence, dependence, friendship, maturity, innocence and love, are all put together within the exquisite beauty of the Australian highlands to help the movie's viewers recapture the awesome experience of finding ourselves with and through the one we love. The music is awesome and there is a splendid balance between nature and civilization. Oh, and by the way, did I forget to mention the horses? If you want to see a horse movie, don't watch the horse whisperer, watch The Man from Snowy River. This movie is not simplistic, it's a classic!

Summary: Excellent movie
Review: The scenery of Australia, and the way the producers use someone who can ride a horse is fantastic. As a horse enthusiast, it is nice to see when a horse bucks - and there's no bucking strap. The music is amazing. I watch this movie with young children and they love it too. This is the number one requested movie in my collection. Because of that I've had to purchase 2 - the first is wearing out. For any horse lover, or a lover of scenery or someone who appreciates excellent movie, you will find this movie exceeds any expectations you might have.

Summary: Sensational, Breathtaking, Clean, & Australian!
Review: This movie rates as my all time favourite movie. Yes, I am Australian, and love my country, however this movie includes fantastic cinematography, beautiful scenery (which is just as it is in the movie!), great acting, and a clean, yet exciting storyline.The story comprises of a mountain man who is left with a challenge to leave his mountain hut, and work on the flats, in order to be able to keep his mountain place. Of course, there is great antagonism between flats and mountain country folk. Jim Craig (played by Tom Burlinson) ends up falling in love with his boss's daughter, so thereby finds himself working for more than just the humble hut he wishes to keep in the mountain country! Great horsework, awesome action, stunning scenery, what more can I say except - see for yourself! You won't be disappointed! there is a definitely none of the sex, and foul language that we are slowly being desensitised to accept as "normal". The story is clean, and you come away feeling you have seen a fantastic movie, without being bombarded with the other trash. This must rate as an all-time favouite, and dare I say it - a Classic. Must see!

Review: I have been to Australia, and the country is as amazing as it seems. The storyline was excellent and the footage brilliant. When I first rented it, it took me three extra days before I took it back!
