Rating: Summary: see it Review: simply, the best f--king bowling movie ever
Rating: Summary: The Coen Bros. come through again. Review: Loved it. Jeff Bridges and John Goodman were made for each other. I'd like to see more of them together...
Rating: Summary: The Coens Have Outdone Even Themselves Review: In order to understand the Coens, endless viewing of their great classics is necessary, such as "Raising Arizona" and their non-comedy "Fargo". "The Big Lebowski" is a melding of those two classics, and "Miller's Crossing" to create the best Coen film yet, much better than the academy award winning Fargo. Lebowski is subtle, getting your gut from behind, so its' humor is not appreciated- or even picked up on, by the casual viewer. It is a sequential masterpiece, when one things of the sequences, the 'what the heck is this' opening sequence, Dylan's opening 'man in me' sequence, Jesus' Theme, and of course, the Dude's part in "Gutterballs". In all, I would recomend renting it for first timers, but if you laugh at one joke, buy it because you'll save money on the video store.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: That person, from washington, said they said the "F" word every 3 0r 4 words. Its acctually 2.5 times per minute...if you were to avergae it out. it is said 241
Rating: Summary: Just a story about "the Dude." Review: This is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. If you liked Raising Arizona and Fargo you will love this movie. Sit back, have yourself a White Russian, and enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Too many "F" words. Review: I looked forward to this movie. The story and actors attracted me to it. However after hearing the "F" word every three or four words, I shut it off. Sorry to see our language sink to such low levels.
Rating: Summary: Coen's Under-Appreciated Gem Review: After Fargo, critics were looking for the Coen's to make another classic film of suspense and humor. Instead, they decided to go just for the humor... and came up with something just as worthy. Alot of the reviews I read at the time said it had individually funny scenes, but wasn't consistent enough of a story to be held in the same esteem as Fargo. I for one disagree. The laid back feel and circular story line make it interesting, and with Jeff Bridges and John Goodman perfectly casted everything gels. It's one of those movies I can watch anytime.
