Summary: Absolutely Hysterical
Review: This is one the funniest films I have ever seen. Christopher Guset is a comic genius, but he couldn't have done it without Eugene Levy, his hilarious co-writer and co-star. The cast shines and is terrific, especially Fred Willard, Bob Balaban, Parker Posey, Levy, and Guest. Some people thought this movie was just strange, but it is not, and it is one of the funniest movies ever made. Try it and you won't be disappointed.

Summary: God I wish i was in this show!!1
Review: From the opening scene to the last toot of that cooky horn Waiting for Guffman is the best 84 minute spent watching a movie or must I say living a movie. When you leave blaine at end of the credits you feel as though you know the people of blaine and that it wouldn't be so bad being a resident. Guffman is full of great lines and characters. This is one of those movies you have to watch every couple of months. Unless Guest decided to released the other 6 hrs of the movie I don't think you will find a funnier more real and original movie. Guest can write, he could act, produce and direct but who knew he could make one of my favorite movies! God I wish I was in this show!!!

Summary: If you liked "This is Spinal Tap. . ."
Review: Then you will absolutley love the latest from Spinal Taps Christopher Guest. The movie starts right up as an absolutely hilarious flick of mockery and comedy. There is not much to say otherwise you would be giving too much away. The bottom line "Guests' finest work yet".

Summary: Who ever knew a sesquicentennial could be so much fun?
Review: Just as silly as the word sesquicentennial, "Waiting for Guffman" is a little film with a tremendous spirit. This is the first time since the revival of Spinal Tap that Christopher Guest has the opportunity to show his talents as a genius of comedy. His deadpan portrayal of the super-sensitive Corky St. Clare, a mirror image of one of Guest's characters from the 1984-85 season of "Saturday Night Live," and his efforts to create a Broadway production consisting of village idiots is one of the greatest comedies of the 1990s. With a support staff of Fred Willard, Catharine O'Hara, Eugene Levy and Parker Posey, it's not a wonder that the 150th anniversary of Blaine, Mo. is an unforgettable event. Although it's a comedy to be appreciated by any fan of the cinema, "Guffman" will leave an even stronger mark for those from Smalltown, USA and for those who love to make fun of aspiring theater majors.

Summary: Crazy fun!
Review: Rob Reiner is a comedic genius! This movie is laugh out loud funny. The subject matter is completely outrageous. How Christopher Guest could keep a straight face during his performance is beyond me. It's a MUST SEE!!!

Summary: A beautiful thing to watch (over and over again...)
Review: To me, Guffman is one of the top ten films ever made. It gets better every time I watch it, and it turned into a cult classic at my high school--we even performed most of the scenes on our own at a Thespian recognition night. At college, I have found that many people know and love the film as well, especially those who have ever been in love with the theatre. Guffman's wacky humor, insane characters, and sillyness make it a classic. This is definitely a film to watch with a group, and more than once as you become better acquainted with the people of Blaine, their stories, the harder to catch lines and comic gestures, and the wordplay and hidden humor. Watch this film, and you will find yourself quoting it constantly, showing it to your friends, telling others about it--in short, you will become a Guffman Disciple, as I have become. I sincerely hope you give this a try, you won't be disappointed. And besides, Blaine Fabin would be proud of you.

Summary: Guffman is the best mockumentary ever!
Review: This movie is flat out hysterical. It is a mockumentary of a small town theater group and the lengths they go to put on a musical for the 150th anniversary of small town Blaine, Missouri. Watch and become entranced by Corky St. Clair, the drama master, who remains stuck in the closet, Ron and Sheila Albertson, travel agents and wannabe theater stars, Libby Mae, a DQ girl with high aspirations to hit the Big Apple, and Lloyd Miller, the jealous music director longing for the spot light. This movie is 84 minutes of pure laughs and hilarious situations! END

Summary: Corky St. Clair, Theatrical Master: Path to Glory and Fame
Review: Set in the town of Blaine, MissourA, this movie tells the quaint tale of Corky St. Clair, the town theater director who still hasn't opened the closet door yet, is preparing to celebrate the sequecentennial of Blaine. Meet the locals who join in on the fun and excitement of the production of "Red, White, and Blaine": Libby Mae, a 20something DQ blizzard queen, Ron Albertson, a travel agent of Magic Carpet Travel who endured "minor surgery" and his submissive wife Sheila, or Mrs. Albertson, who has a fondness for hair spray and jogging suits, Dr. Pearl, a dentist/comedian who can never be seen without his "specs", Clifford Wooley, who loves his beans and taxidermy and making gun racks, Lloyd Miller, the stiff and jealous music director, and finally Johnny Savage, the town greasemonkey. Watch this flick for a barrel of laughs, from Corky's nervous breakdown to the grand performance in front of all of Blaine. But if you don't like it, "you're just bastard people!" END

Summary: A taste of the pathetic sublime
Review: The funniest, smartest, most realistic film of the fantastic absurd I have seen in an extremely long time. I've seen it way to many times and after each viewing I discover a whole other level which this movie goes to in developing a picture of the most pathetic lives swept up in the most hopeless dream. I love it. I love it alot. END
