Rating: Summary: Everybody dance! Review: This improvisational movie is a blast! Join the townspeople of Blaine and away we go. Christopher Guest rounds up the talent of this town for an all out romp that takes the watcher to great places.
Rating: Summary: So funny you'll bite your pillow! Review: This is my favorite comedy ever! The characters are hilarious, especially Corky St. Clair. I'd love to see the same cast do another movie together, because they're all so great. It puts me in a silly mood every time I see it!
Rating: Summary: WAIT NO MORE! Review: See this video as soon as possible. But, don't make the mistake and try to eat/drink something while you're watching because.... (well, you know what happened.) You will laugh so hard at some of the scenes, so be prepared. Christopher Guest transforms himseelf into an off-beat, but warm character. I loved his character, Fred Ward's and Parker Posey's character, and the whole picture. God Bless Blaine!
Rating: Summary: The Most fabulous comedy of our time Review: This movie was amazing, you watch it once and you think it is the wierdest thing that you have ever scene, then you start to think of the characters in which the amazing imagination of Christopher Guest has created, I have seen the movie thirty times and it gets better every time, watch it with friends, and family. SPREAD THE JOY OF GUFFMAN!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: If you liked "Spinal Tap", you'll LOVE "Waiting for Guffman" Review: I have never laughed so hard! Christopher Guest is an absolute genius and to gather such a phenomenal supporting cast (Fred Willard, Catharine O'Hara, Eugene Levy and Parker Posey) was positively BRILLANT! I have longed to see Christopher Guest in something ver since Spinal Tap and "Waiting for Guffman" has delivered everything and MORE. Buy this movie, you cannot go wrong. Bring it out when you are feeling blue, the lives of the people in Blaine will surely bring a smile to your face.
Rating: Summary: Welcome to Blaine, the "Stool Capital" of the United States! Review: Now take a seat in the County Building's multipurpose room and witness one heck of an amateur musical/theatrical dedication to the town. Intrigued? Let me further whet your appetite for fun and frolic with this tidbit: the film's director, star and comedic genius, Christopher Guest, is the spouse of actress Jamie Lee Curtis. Aren't you at all curious about what kind of guy it would take to win the attentions or this iconoclastic hardbody?
Rating: Summary: Grab your Remains of the Day lunchbox and enjoy this treat Review: Other viewers have already pointed out the pure hilarity and genius of this film. I can only add that I have seen it 6 times and am now buying it to save rental fees. You will quote lines from this movie, to the point of irritating your friends. But, that's their loss. (I use this film as a barometer of someone's sense of humor by the way--beware those who don't "get it.") Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!!!!! Review: This is honestly my favorite movie of all time! I can't stop myself from rolling around on the floor laughing every time that I watch it. YOU MUST GO SEE IT NOW!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Best comedy film since "Blazing Saddles" Review: As one who grew up in a town similar to Blaine, I could not stop laughing at the antics (so believable!) of the characters in this "show." Guest is a genius---I loved the fact that Corky St. Clair staged "Backdraft" although it was closed by the local Fire Department. The bios of the characters were wonderful: the travel agents who never travelled (except for the time the husband had to have "surgery") outside of Blaine and his wife with her bangs sticking straight up in the air; to Dr. Pearl, the beloved, singing dentist to our Dairy Queen princess--Parker Posey--who is priceless and to all the other wonderful actors in this film. I would have loved to have "sat in" with Guest and Levy when they wrote this brillant piece of art. Run, don't walk, to get this video!
Rating: Summary: If you live in a small town, you must watch this movie. Review: For the love of God, you've gotta see this! It's freakin' hilarious! Anyone can enjoy it, but particularly small town people, like me, will find it amusing. It is astonishingly realistic, and it will make you laugh at yourself and the people who surround you. It gets better every time you watch it, and you forget that these people are acting, the documentary style is so on-the-mark! CORKY, WE WANT YOU TO LIVE!!
