Summary: happy hours
Review: I watched the movie in 1989 and it was one of those "..a lump in the throat." experiences. I read and saw the series again this year 1999 and its the same rush of tearful emotions from the wonder of childhood innocence. A must have for all families (with or w/o kids)

Summary: The Best Movie Ever
Review: I have watched Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea countless times in my life. I love both of them immensly. I cried when I first saw Avonlea when Gilbert was sick. I would recommend this to anyone very highly. This is one set of movies you don't want to miss.

Summary: When It All Gets to be Too Much, It's Time for Anne!
Review: I was a child who devoured books and the family copies of Anne of Green Gables and its sequels were my all-time most favorite books to reread time and again. Never would I have believed that this beloved friend of mine could be brought to life so perfectly on the screen!

Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea are the two most important video sets in our well-stocked video cabinet. We can never watch just one tape, but we have learned to "pace" ourselves and watch the four over a two night period. ANNE gets viewed twice a year without fail and inevitably also gets pulled out to lift our spirits whenever life begins to suggest to us that there are things more important than truth. When my husband and I need to step back and remember the truly important things about life and relationships, we curl up together for a satisfying visit with Anne of Green Gables.

Summary: A Wonderful, Wonderful Story
Review: I first saw "Anne of Green Gables" on P.B.S. and I knew I had to have the movie. It does a pretty good job of following the book. And the music is OUTSTANDING! And if anyone wants to purchase the soundtrack, Amazon.com has it! I ordered the soundtrack, and although it took a couple of weeks to get here, it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!

Summary: A cherished classic
Review: When I first saw this mini-series it was 1988. It is now 1999 and I could not possibly count how many times I have seen it since. This movie has warmed my heart over the years and will continue to. I DEEPLY look forward to the long awaited, last installment to this series, as I know it will be such a special completion to this special saga. Here's to the continuing story of Anne Of Green Gables.

Summary: A splendid masterpiece of growing up!
Review: "Anne of Green Gables" is a timeless classic for young and old. Anne, despite her harsh destiny, never loses faith and eventually gets what she most desires: a home and a real family. Lucy Maud Montgomery's book and the wonderful film adaptation are tales of courage, humour, and most of all the simple joys of life! Anne's charm and warmth enchants everybody and makes us want to become a 'kindred spirit'. The gorgeous landscape of Prince Edward Island is the perfect setting and to this day - after having watched the film about 50 times - I still get goose bumps when Anne and Matthew drive through the blossoming cherry tree orchard and finally see Green Gables in the distance. I cannot wait until my daughter (now 10 months) is old enough to share this great story about life and love with me! P.S. What a shame that it is not being produced anymore; especially, because my copies disappeared during my last move.

Summary: No matter how many times I watch it, it moves me!
Review: I first saw Anne of Green Gables when I was in high school and I fell completely in love with the characters, the setting and the story! That was eleven years ago and I am still moved every time I watch this wonderful film.(I have to keep a box of tissues handy) I think Anne is the kind of girl most of us can identify with. She's in a new place trying to fit in and trying to be true to herself. She sudcceeds wonderfully, growing from an awkward little orphan girl into a confident well loved young woman. I have a 5 year old son & a 2 year old daughter and I will be so glad when they are old enough for me to share this wonderful film with them both. Anne is truly a fine role model for any woman, young or old!
