Summary: Why should everyone see this video?
Review: Because of the unforgettable, touching, endearing, story of a girl with "a perfect graveyard of buried hopes" that finds a family who finally loves her and it just touches you. All the things that are important are right where you are. My heart aches when I see those breathtaking scenes of Prince Edward Island and how much Anne has than before. "It wasn't luck, it was Providence. He knew we needed her."-Marilla. And of course, the music was that magical touch to the movie, that makes you think of gentle sloping pastures and the shorelines. Kindred spirits everywhere.

Summary: The Most Asthetic Work of Art in my life
Review: Having grown up watching this movie on PBS or the Disney Channel as a little kid, I fell in love with each character and the completely enthralling plot. Each scene is filled with an indescribable internal emotion that transforms anything I've ever seen before. As a young man of twenty, I still find it incredibly enjoyable, and the best way to spend time with my grandmother, who calls this her favorite. Incredible acting, a richly-textured plot, breathless scenery, and absolutely endearing characters makes this my second favorite movie of all time--only to "Anne of Avonlea"!

Summary: Megan Follows is Anne of Green Gables...
Review: I adore "Anne of Green Gables"...the story, the characters, the costumes, Prince Edward Island and especially the incredible acting talent of Megan Follows, the late Colleen Dewhurst, Richard Farnsworth, Jonathan Crombie and Schuyler Grant. This adaptation is true to Lucy Maud Montgomery's novel. I can watch it again and again and again. When I read the novel, in my head, I see Megan, Colleen, Richard, Jonathan and Schuyler as Anne (with an "e"), Marilla, Matthew, Gilbert and Diana. A true classic and a must for any video library.

Summary: An inextricable part of my life
Review: I loved this movie when I was little and still believe it is the best adaptation of any book onto film. The story is moving and incredibly encouraging. Matthew and Marilla are delicately and beautifully portrayed by Farnsworth and Dewhurst (what child would not want to be adopted by them). This film affirms all the truths in life, frienship, and love. I cannot imagine my life without this movie or the wonderful books(all six). I agree completely with the reviewer who said that everyone needs to see this. It truly is a beautiful gift to all of us.

Summary: Be Charmed into the Past
Review: This movie transports you back in time; it really does! I had read the book before I saw the movie (when it came on PBS), and was already jaded from seeing other books mutilated by their horrid mutation into an unrecognizable movie. So I was wonderfully surprised at how fantastic this movie is! Even with the director's "creative license", this film retains all of the charm of the book. It is well worth the purchase price to be transported to Avonlea!

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: I saw this movie a while back. Then I read the books, and absolutely love them both. Anne is outgoing, with a lot of spunk. One of my favorite parts was when she and Diana were role playing, and Diana almost floated off down the lake!

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST, but still.....
Review: this movie really is one of the best, bit it totally confused me on some parts because a few of the events were not how it was followed in the book. still i love anything about dear old avonlea!

Summary: Captivating!
Review: I honestly believe that everyone should sit and watch these movies. Lucy Maud Montgomery's stories were brought to life in these enchanting tales of Anne(with an e), as an orphan on up into her adult years. The joy that these tapes have brought to our family is unbelievable. It is nearly impossible to stop watching when you begin, so find a comfy spot on the sofa and possibly a box of kleenex and be prepared for a life changing experience! You will never forget or regret watching these video tapes. I also highly recommend reading all of the wonderful books that these tapes are based on. They will take you back in time and make you wish for "the old days". What a wonderful gift these books and tapes have given to the world.

Summary: Absolutely beautiful!
Review: This is one of THE best and most beautiful movies of all-time. Megan Follows plays Anne (with an e) Shirley, a talkative and mature child who is an orphan. Marilla Cuthbert, played wonderfully by Colleen Dewhurst, is a hard-nosed woman who takes her in, unwillingly at first. This is a story of a girl who comes of age, in the funniest and most lovable way possible. This movie is brilliantly cast, especially with Richard Farnsworth as the lovable Matthew, and Jonathan Crombie as Gil. This is a movie for all ages, and once you see it, you can't help but fall in love with Prince Edward Island.
