Summary: One of the new epics in anime!
Review: I recentley saw this movie at an anime convention and was amazed at how grand it was. It had good animation, a strong story, and lots of action. Everyone loved it. I can't wait to own it on video. It also has the meanest villian I have ever seen. At one point he kills this women's boyfriend, and she is crying. He tells her to shut up and then stabs her in the back. This movie is something everyone should see, and again shows where the cutting edge of cinema really is.

Summary: read manga than see movie
Review: The movie X was a tale about the apocolypse. This movie is about a young boy named kamui who can prevent the dragons of earth from killing off mankind. The dragons of heaven are there to save the world along with kamui. Alot of people hated this movie. the only reason is because you should read the manga so you have an understanding of what is going on. The things wrong with X is The dubbing and the fact that people found heard to understand when it was so easy to understand.

Summary: Masterful manga, bad, bad, BAD anime.
Review: The two groups governing the future of the Earth, the Dragon of Heaven and the Dragon of Earth, seem to have an extreme difference of opinion on the Earth's destiny. Thus the conflict between the two groups starts. How will in end?

Based on the manga X/1999, "X:the movie" tells the grim tale of Kamui, who journeys to tokyo as his mother last request and finds more than he could ever comprehend. Two groups, the seven dragons of heaven, and the seven dragons of earth. The seven dragons of earth have a passion for earths destruction, while the seven dragons of heaven strive to use their magical powers to protect earth.

All Kamui wants is to protect his love and his best freind Fumma, but he is drawn into the dragons epic battle and forced to make a choice. Due to a recent battle, both groups are short one member. Now Kamui must make a choice, which group? Kamui's choice will affect the fate of all humankind.

Depressing. Thats the best way to describe this mess. Amazing how excellent the manga is, yet the anime is awful. The manga tells a suprisingly different story than the anime. So far, only four volumns of the manga are currently published in the united states, each with a very cool name, like intermezzo, or seranade, which are loosey related to musical terms.

The plot for this anime is rather sickening. The plot is just a teenie bit more complicated than the usual "good and evil". It will bore you to death. Another gross thing is the character personalities. The personalities are extremly simplistic. You never get attached to the "temple girl" because all she trys to be is a"Temple girl". She never even trys to develop into something more. Their was next to nothing character development, and when you just started to get attached to the characters, they are killed off. Well, there was one exception. The following lines were said by a casanova-like guy who is always following a certain female character around. Note that these lines were acted with a lack of emotion. "My, you're pretty" (said to girl)

"You look beautiful when your fighting" (said before the final battle)

"I always hade a crush on you" (said as last words)

Pretty bad, huh. Predicable lines and bad acting.

The battles were also bad. If the battles had been better, Then I would have been more willing to give this one a extra star or two. Unfortunatly, all the battles stunk. One energy blast and half a building is blown up. The destruction was very over-exagerated. Even the final battle is bad, and lasts about one seconds, then follows with a unplesant J-pop.

The dubbing was nothing special, and some was pretty atrocious, like Kamui. He was suppose to come off as a brave, yet uncertain hero, but he came off to me as a ignorant wimp.

However, CLAMP has always been known for their geogeous animation, and X is no exception. I think what has always attracted me to them is their excellent character designs, which they show proudly in "X". Its too bad I was too busy cringing to fully enjoy The animations lushness.

If you are still considering watching this anime, be warned that, at times, it is very violent. A couple people get a couple limbs choped off. A couple of people also get stabed in the back. "X" also features a couple of cruxifixtions, done in a very graphic style.

"X" the movie is in more ways than one, a grade A stinker. Unless you're a X/1999 or CLAMP fanatic, I doubt you'll be able to muster enough entertainment out of this one. Besides, I bet you've got better things to do, like read the very cool manga :). The final verdict is if you love CLAMP you might enjoy it, but it is clearly one of CLAMP's poorest works.

Summary: A bueatiful film with only a couple of flaws
Review: Everything about this movie is great;the animation blends perfectly with the CG effects (unlike some American cartoons),the soundtrack is one of the best I ever heard and acting is top-notch.

This movie isn't complete without a couple of flaws however. The depressing and disappointing ending will only make you say "That's it?". This is due to the fact that the manga series is unfinished and still far from completion (the manga is said to be 22 books long and so far only 11 of them has been published as of this writing, with vol.12 coming soon).

Another flaw is that certain points of the storyline aren't explained in the movie, only in the manga, and most of the characters lacks development. You barely get to know a supporting character before they die.

It is still a good film, but I recommend you to read the Manga before watching the film (which is available in English through Viz Communications) in order to have a general understanding of the story.

Summary: horrible ending
Review: the movie stinks. my favorite character of the series dies in the VERY BEGINNING. Hmph. and the way the people died were just horrible (especially Kotori's death). poor Kamui. he's the only main character even alive at the end, which totally sucks. the movie was pretty sad, though it really sucked. like others said, they shouldn't try to fit a manga series of 18+ volumes into a 90 minute movie. the reason i give it a three, it because i started to read the manga, X/1999 and it's pretty good. also, the graphics were pretty good. i hope that the anime series is much better than this.

Summary: R, please I see worse thing in Lord of the Rings.
Review: This Movie is awesome, but the rating ticks me off. R, please, lord of the rings is rated 14A and 18A, and it's live action, some things i see in this movie that deserve an R rating are seen only once or twice in this movie, yet you see similar things 4 or 5 times in Lord of the rings. anyway back to the movie. i've read some other reviews, and i have to say i'm not very pleased with them, for instance, somepeolpe say it's terrible for how some of their favourite characters die right in the beginning, others don't really explain the movie, so heres the review that will tell you what its about.
The Movie X {like Escaflowne The movie} is basically a replay of the T.V. Series. It starts off with Kamui seeing his mothers death, which is very tragic, just after she tells him to return to Tokyo city and join the Dragons that will save man kind and he is the Chosen one to fight on Gods behalf. He returns to Tokyo
and meets up with his beloved childhood Friend Kotori{prounounced "coat tory"} and her older brother {Also considered like an older brother to Kamui, thow they aren't related} Fuuma {prounounced "Fu ma"} Monou. all of a sudden two Dragons of Earth {Bad Guys}, Show up and try to get Kamui to go with them, Kamui refuses and the three start to fight, just as things start getting topugh for Kamui, The Dragons of Heaven {Good Guys} shopw up to help, the other two Dragons run away and Fuuma and Kotori are taken Prisoners. the Dragons of heaven Convince Kamui {thats prenounced "Cam Way"} to come with them to meet princess Hinoto {Hin o toe} who Kamui has seen in a dream/vision before. She reveals to him that the one who kidnapped his friends was her sister Kanui {"Can a way"} and that right now she iis convincing Fuuma to become a dragon of the earth. She then show kamui what will happen to hie beloved Kotori if he choses to be a dragon of the earth, she show him killing her. Kamui is furiuous, but because he loves Kotori and his mother who asked him to become a dragon of heaven, he chooses the side of Heaven. One by one the Dragons of the Earth and Heaven Die, soon only Kamui and two other dragons are alive, Kotori runs away from the Dragons of earth when Fuuma tries to take the sword of the Earth form her body, she somehow gets to Kamui's hideout and keeps running, Kamui runs for her but Fuuma catche her and kills her taking the sword that belongs to him, He kills Hinoto's sister and the other tweo Dragons of Heaven. Kamui and Fuuma remeet at Tokyo Tower. There the two Dragons fight, at first Kamui tries to convince Fuuma that he is Fuuma and Not Fuuma, but Fuuma clams his old self to be dead. Kamui has no other choice but to fight, he calls forth the sword of heaven and with one final slash. sorry you'll have to watch the movie to see who wins. hope this wasn't too much of a good review, and hope this didn't spoil anything, just to let you know a few of the things i said in this review are somewhat false, and i didn't mention a couple of good things. Hope you get this movie, it's really good.

Summary: This Movie could of been better
Review: I like this alot ,but the first 20 minutes goes by slow, but after a while it gets good,I reccomend this to any anime fans,I also reccomend to check out the X series. it is way better than the movie

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: X rules. Love it, can't watch it though till i'm 15.
Review: X is great but because it's rated R i'm keeping I locked up until i turn 15 or i'm 14 and it's 2006. I olove this movie so much it's so cool, but if your 12 or 13 or 14, don't buy if your parents are the type who don't allow you to watch R rated movies then wait till your 15 or 16. but it's really good, but you see i don't understand why it's rated R because there is only one scene of nudity, but you only see the breast, then the rest is all bloody violence, theres no sexual anything, theres no swearing that i've heard, so it's seems more 18A then R.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Anime
Review: No matter what anyone tells you, this is one of the best anime's you will ever see. Not a great ending, but all in all it is great, good animation, good music, good storyline. I have seen many anime films, and this is one of my favorites.
