Summary: the real thing?
Review: I really love Dragon Ball... I've seen all the dragon ball, dragon ball Z, dragon ball GT and all the movies in japanese (with english text), spanish and what's available in english.. The spanish translation is very close to the JP version. Even the original music is there and no cut scenes.....
The only bad thing I see in the English version is the patheric dialogue and music... most of the dialog has been changed to make it "ok". If the japanese dragon ball was made the way it was it's for a reason...

Summary: Why the old is better then the new
Review: this saga is the last great saga their is on DragonBall Z.
this was a perfect backround for showing how evil Frieza is and Vegeta's quest to seek the DragonBalls out and wish for immortality. Now why should you get this(or at least see it) it has excellent battles and story. The newer episodes of Dbz have no story and are corney and kiddy and no fun to watch. It's also great in the fact that the old voices and animation are still here(another down side to the newer episodes is that they don't have them)I personnaly recommend this to any true Dbz fan and NOT to the people who like only newer episodes and newer power levels thats why I recommend this or the saiyan conflict over any saga out there

Summary: Comedy Vs. Drama
Review: In response to certain reviews regarding the differences between the English and Japanese versions of Dragon Ball Z (and there is a difference in the mood of the show, viewers should be aware), I would say that this is a matter of personal viewing choice. Personally, I prefer the English version, and I recommend it to anyone who prefers an emphasis on the comedic as opposed to dramatic content of the show. To sum up, that is the main difference. The Japanese version takes itself seriously and in a more somber manner, as opposed to the English version which maintains a more comedic atmosphere to Dragon Ball Z, more true to the nature of the original Dragon Ball.
Which you prefer depends entirely on how you want to enjoy the show. It is your entertainment, after all. Personally, I like dubs in most Anime, so I can just kick back, relax and enjoy it. No need to read off a screen, or translate the Japanese.
No matter which version you prefer, however, I think we can all agree that Dragon Ball Z is an excellent series.
P.S. For those who enjoy the more serious aspects of the Japanese version, I recommend checking out DragonballGT, if you haven't already.

Summary: DBZ fans rejoice!!
Review: Any lover of Dragonball Z cannot get enough, I was hooked when I first saw and saw Goku fight frieza. It was amazing. I can't wait for the Cell Saga and Buu Saga also, plus GT. All were great to watch, now they are uncut and on DVD quality... It's going to be great

Summary: "Darn!"
Review: First off, I just wanted to say that when I first saw DBZ, I really didn't like it. I thought it was fairly stupid, as every non-fan does. After sitting down with the Cell Saga, I really grew to like it. Sure, some things are ridiculous (it took 15 or so episodes for 5 minutes to pass before Planet Namek exploded). However, it is truly different than any other anime. Even the character designs are different from the style of the mid 80's to early 90's, and are especially different than Japan's currently popular styles (seriously, is there anything that doesn't look like Cardcaptor Sakura, Trigun or Neon Genenis Evangelion?).
Anyway, what bothers me about this series is not the fact that it isn't as good as the later sagas. What bugs me is that even on DVD, it may be strictly dubbed. I was actually going to shell out $100 per DVD box set, as they came out, since I heard they were bilingual and "uncut" (funny how uncut doesn't translate into uncensored). However, going to Pioneer's website, it says that this is just going to be dubbed English...on a bloody DVD! I've enjoyed Armitage III and Trigun from Pioneer, and I seriously expected better than that. I hope it's a typo, but if it's not, that's the reason it gets 3 stars. It's still alright in English (the voices aren't that bad, and the dubbed music is pretty good), but I would rather see it as originally presented. The sad thing is, the president of Funimation is Japanese. You'd think he'd have a little more respect for the animation.

Besides, the dubs can be really bad.

"Oh no, so and so is going to blow up the earth....darn!"

Yeah, gosh darn it. Dag nab it, that's not good!

Summary: bad stuff
Review: DragonBallZ is a very bad series, because of all changes it made in the original DragonBall's plot. On top of that all the flashing lights in its fight scenes make it great if you want to have a convulsion. The facts that time stands still forever, that they have so many unhuman powers, and there always is someone more powerful make it a realy bad series. I mean wasn't Frezza the most powerful being in the universe. Then the Androids and Garlic Jr are more powerful then him. Plus it is bordered lined between the action and the giant robot genres. I mean it is supposed to be a action anime series when it is a giant robot series without the giant robots. In the end it is just another sequel.

Summary: I only wish there was more
Review: I was very pleased with what I saw. True, they are edited and some things are cut out. But they give you the story and its something that my whole family can watch together. The only regret that I have is that I can't get all of the episodes in this good of quality. There are actually 531 episodes total. 176 are just Dragon Ball, They are before DBZ. Then there are 291 episodes of DBZ. These are my personal favorites. Then, the last are the Dragon Ball GT episodes. I didn't really like these ones, but they are good none the less. I just wish somebody (Funimation) would make all of them available in English. I have them all but some are in japanese with subtitles which makes it hard to enjoy the episode, and some are just dubbed in English. I'm sure any true dbz fan would give an arm and a leg to have them all in English. I know i would. Hopefully this will inspire more people to try to get Funimation pumping out those episodes, it would definately be worth their time.

Summary: Good, but not as good as the originals
Review: First of all, I'm sure if you've heard reviews like these saying how much better the Japanese versions of DBZ are. No, these aren't as good the Japanese version, but its better than nothing. I can understand if people want to get these because the sub-titles can be quite difficult to come by. Anyway, I gave it three stars because I couldn't give it a zero, because the stories there and because there aren't quite as many edits, but there are still a lot of things missing(Even whole episodes!). Can you believe they actually say die!! Wow, that's just terrible, after hearing that I found out that when someone gets shot through the chest with an energy beam, they don't go to "Another dimension", they(get this)die. What a concept.
