Rating: Summary: top notch animation Review: This is the sequel to the original release back in 1984, This time D is out to save a young woman kidnapped by the vampire meir link. The animation is as good as anything I have ever seen in anime. It ranks up there with Ghost In The Shell or anything else of this caliber. The music this time around is astoundingly good, it really made the movie and the plot is also very interesting. D is drawn to look very sharp in this movie, the detail in his face is exceptional, very smooth and fluid. Most anime is drawn to give good facial expression to bring across emotion, but D is about the best I have ever seen (this time around). For any anime fan, this is an absolute must have for your collection.
Rating: Summary: A beautiful anime Review: It's managed to have everything crammed together, and it works well! There's a bunch of armed-to-the-teeth high tech vampire hunters, a mysterious wandering warrior, a doomed love story, lots of gore and plenty of vampire killing action, altogether in one package, pretty entertaining and much superior than the original, of course. I'd recommend you go rent it but it's not worth buying, imho.
Rating: Summary: Stellar! Review: I disagree with the lead amazon reviewer's comment "the orginal is a better adaptation" i have seen both adaptations and find this one to surpass the original based on presentation, story, and dialogue. finding the original japanese isn't an option and I must say that dubbing in the original was horrendous while it was stellar in this version. so basically, if you were disatisfied with the original vampire hunter D, don't give up and give bloodlust a chance.
Rating: Summary: It could have gotten 5 stars Review: I was very happy to finally get Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust. When I got to my friend's house we immediately popped it into the DVD player, and I was shocked to find that it didn't have the original Japanese language format with English subtitles. I admit that the English wasn't as bad as some dubbing I have heard, but it was rather disappointing. And because of the case the DVD comes in there is no indication that it dosen't have the Japanese. Of course my friend told me that the original Vampire Hunter D DVD doesn't have the original Japanese format either.Other than that Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust is absolutely extrordinary. The animation is completely breath-taking. If it weren't for the fact that it didn't have the Japanese format I would have given it 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: A good movie with a few flaws Review: First of all, the first one will always be better. The music is one I actually bought the CD for. The acting, great. The voices, great. The animation 50/10. The only flaw was the exclusion of the Japanese dub. I know it was originally in English, but I''m practicing on saying Japanese, and now watch all my anim・瘢雹in Japanese. But otherwise, a good movie (especially the case, blood red)
Rating: Summary: beautiful, dark, mood altering Review: This anime is excellent. Bloodlust is worlds better than the first movie. Bloodlust doesn't take off from the first. I have to say it's the best anime I've ever seen. The animation and the music is impeccable. I get emotional when I watch this. This anime is like a portal to another world. A world full of dark, beautiful and sophisticated beings who live in a world of shadow. I was able to see this movie in the theatre and my jaw dropped when I saw and heard the opening scene. This is a must see!
Rating: Summary: [Super] Good and you better belive it Review: D is back and is already on is way to [stardom].If you have saw the first series you will love this film, it has all that makes an anime brilliant. Re vamped animation and fight scenes that will make you're pet monkey crall to the corner of the room. In other words this is a must see anime.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Anime Review: I loved this anime, it was spectacular - cheers to those who made it. The story is great and does not follow the regular vampire-cliche that I had expected. The soundtrack, characters and visuals were all incredible also. D is a half human/half vamp vampire hunter with a somewhat ambiguous past who agrees to track down another vampire who kidnapped a girl in exchange for 20million dollars.....phew! In a slight twist though, the same people who have paid D to track the girl have also hired another small group of hunters for the same task. As the story unfolds, we see how both D and the other group of hunters track down the enemy - but what are this enemies intentions? There was never a dull moment in this flick and it left me wanting to watch it a second time. I can't say much more besides I'm glad people are still making anime which have a good collection of everything rather then excelling in one area. Buy this movie if you are a fan of action oriented anime movies (eg ninja, akira, ghost..etc). Thoroughly enjoyable. If I do have any gripes, I would say there needed to be a few more intense fight scenes. I have only watched the english dubbed version (not sure if there is any other).. and another thing that annoyed me somewhat was the voice actor for the female hunter - I wish they had chosen someone else! If not for her annoying voice, I would give it a 5.
Rating: Summary: Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust Review: This was a great sequal to the orignal VHD. Its different art style and action pacted sceens lead you into the world of D and thase poor souls that live along side the vampire and mutants of a world gone through hell. All in all this film series rates up there with LotR with me as one of my number one picks of all time.
Rating: Summary: Great sequel Review: This is a sequel of the anime horror classic Vampire Hunter D, the first thing you'll see is the superb graphics that this DVD present along with great audio to show some very nice vampire action. A must have for anyone who loves the classic one.
