Summary: Just average.....
Review: First of all I have to say that in Germany Evangelion is just available subtitled. ( Which seems to be best if you have a look at the us dub *hmppf* ) Well, before watching the movie I just heard critical things about it. I must tell you that I really like the TV Series , especially the ending when shinji realizes that there is still hope in his life. But the movie skips this perfect ending and introduces a new more dramatic solution for the story. Hmm how can I say it... well there is blood... a lot of blood some dead people here and there and you feel like watching " Natural born Killers " or " From dusk till dawn ". Well ok not to bad for people who like MD Geist or Ninja Scroll but a bit to shocking to an innocent soul like me. The only thing I really liked about this movie is the scene when Asuka fights the other EVAs. Well ok and the last scene when earth is destroyed and Shinji and Asuka are the only remaining people. ( Like Adam and Eve *sniff ) Ok final statement: If you like EVA that much get this DVD but if you dont want to waste your money get something else, maybe Slayers or Dual.

Summary: An Eva fan must-have
Review: This is what any Evangelion fan should have in their DVD collection.
It's an excellent thought-provoking ending to what is, in my opinion, one of the greatest animes. It will satisfy those who were disappointed with eps 25 & 26.
The soundtrack is pretty good too.

Summary: Evangelion....The Movie Ending
Review: I've seen the fansub of the movie ending and I can honestly say my life is now complete. The alternate ending of the series left an empty discontent feeling in my mind. It left many questions unanswered from the earlier episodes but now after seeing death and rebirth and the movie ending I feel alot more satisfied.
The movie was brilliant It had action, tragedy, violence, suspense and the same old giant robots and phsycopathic pilots which made the series so unique.
I would say this anime is good, but good falls far short of the recognition it deserves. This is a must see, do Ur self a favour, go out and buy it and see for Ur self how good it really is.

Summary: Not so much entertainment but rather a state of mind.
Review: You won't be able to understand anything if you buy this movie as a stand alone product. You must at least have seen the Death & Rebirth movie (which is a movie-like compilation of the Tv series eps 1-24) and/or the Tv series too.

The Tv series could have ended after the victory over the angels, who attacked the earth in the Tv series.
But the story actualy doesn't revolve around the angel attacks but rather around the reason why the angels attacked. The threat comes from within the secret organisation known as NERV of which our main charakters, Shinji, Asuka and Rei are a part of.
End of EVA depicts the final solution as dictated by NERV; either we evolve into god-like beings or we all go to oblivion.
Wether it's heaven or hell for all man-kind... you just have to watch the movie.

The story itself is very good indeed, but the way it is brought to it's audience is what makes it great!
At first you won't have any problems following the plot and you will probably love the fantastic action scenes while NERV has to defend itself agains the UN, who are trying to put an end to NERV's activities. After having been through the brutal carnage the story becomes rather philosofical, theological and psychological with abstract psychodelic imagery and naration taking over from normal cinematogaphy. This is the part which I realt enjoy, it just breathes atmosphere and gives a feeling as if you have just witnessed something higher...

Enojoy!

Summary: It [is not good]!!!
Review: I can't say anything nice about this movie really. If you weren't a fans of the series then you're going to hate this movie. It tries to finish the Evagelion story as best it can, but the main character Shinji seems more whinier now than he did in the series. I thought the series Evangelion was just average, but the movie, I though it [was not good] big time.
I can think of a lot other anime movies I would watch over this thing.

Summary: NGE- End Of Evangelion
Review: I love NGE i own all the shows and movies (including end of eva) and think its is one of the best series around. (second only to Samurai X and Ruroini Kenshin) One thing though was I was very dissapointed with end of eva, it really didnt resolve anything. It just proved to you that shinji was just a loser like everyone thought he was. The animation was ok it was not done by the same people and is a lot more simplified, but still it is pretty cool to see Asuka fight units 5-13, which by the way look really disturbing. Other than that it is very "eva" like and so many will enjoy it, the thing im looking for most though is Spike Spence, (shinji) Amanda Winn (rei), and Tiffany Grant (Asuka) screaming at each other in english because the Japanese voices were just not the same. over all even though it is still frustrating to me id get it to complete the collection.

Summary: Two Words: Third Impact
Review: The Series that brought you here, will disrupt eveything you saw in the past, in a good way(for a change). It will shake and crumble everything you came to believe. Granted, this review is for people who haven't seen it yet. If you've seen it, you know what I mean. That said, put episodes 26 and 25 of the TV show out of your head. That way, you will be prepared for the best TV show Movie(Anime or not) that I have ever seen. Questions awnsered...but in a way that only provokes more questions. A perfect "End" to a wonderful piece of Human artwork.

Summary: Not an alternate ending, but rather a physical one
Review: Having read numerous reviews of this film, I feel it to be necessary to clarify several issues.

Most prominent among them is the common misconception that this film is an 'alternate ending'. Though it is, of course, different from the version seen in the television series, it results in the same essential end. This is actually a physical depiction of the end of Neon Genesis Evangelion, as the first ending was, in fact, the more psychological, 'post-apocalypse' (if you will accept this description) ending. The end to the television series occurs not during the 'third-impact' (yes, this is a spoiler), but a year afterward, when instrumentality (or complementation, which is what the official Manga subtitled version addresses it as) has succeeded, and mankind has been merged. This film doesn't disregard the scenes in the final two episodes, as, in fact, every 'anomalous' scene from episode twenty five (The Ending World) from the series is seen in its true form in this film.

Of course, in the end of this film itself, it's far different from the end seen on television, but this is intentional, as Anno intended to destroy any preconceived notions established about the answers to the anomalies presented in the original series, and, also, to frighten and disturb the viewer out of complacency. Having seen this film in both the 'official' (Manga subtitled) version, and the Fansub version, I can honestly state that this is, perhaps, one of the most frightening and disturbing anime films ever, but, also, it is my favorite (of course, I'm biased, as Neon Genesis Evangelion is my favorite anime, and, in my opinion, the greatest ever created).

I can't wait to see this film in its English glory, as I prefer the English vocal actors to the Japanese ones (though the Japanese VAs certainly do justice to the characters), and am incredibly pleased to see that all of the original VAs are reprising their roles.

However, as a warning, this should not be seen until one sees the entirety of the TV series (not Death and Rebirth, as Death is only a brief digest with new footage, and not a true synopsis{plus, why would anyone only want to see a synopsis?!}), as the series itself is so incredibly wonderful, and it is also essential to understanding The End of Evangelion.

In summation, if you are only able to make two purchases, purchase the TV Perfect Collection, as well as The End of Evangelion. I can assure you that you won't be at all disappointed.

P.S.
As mentioned previously, I'm a complete Eva fanatic, so don't believe that this is even remotely objective. Also, don't believe that seeing this will destroy any joy in the TV series, as I've seen The End of Evangelion twice and I am enjoying the series just as much as the first time on my (I believe) fifteenth viewing (yes, I am also a college student and a writer, so I do have the capacity to make an informed opinion).

Summary: Awesome
Review: Having seen the Japanese release of End of Evangelion, I can honestly say I've been waiting for years for the US release. This movie carries the series to new heights, and provides a much better ending than the last two episodes GAINAX was forced to use by the Japanese TV networks. It's much darker and more adult than the series, with none of the humor seen in some episodes. It will definitly make you think.
