Summary: Otaku vs. Video Game Fans
Review:

If you are a die-hard SF'er, you might not like how this movie matches the SF universe.

But, c'mon...the drawing style is more interesting than SF: The Animated Movie (the animation cels from SFA are absolutely beautiful), and the dialogue is both introspective and funny (The dialogue in SF: The Animated Movie was also funny, but for different reasons--"Attack with more!" and "What do you see in front of your fist?" ring any bells?). Besides, anyone who thinks that Sakura or Dan are meant to be serious characters has bought one too many GI Joes.

Yes, Ryu doesn't fight Vega, Balrog, Bison, or Akuma in this movie, but SF Alpha 2 is in production, and will feature Akuma. Happy?

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: if u liked SF2 the animated movie, then you will hate this
Review: SFA the movie is a hard to watch anime movie. It is horrible, it has nothing to do with storylines from the games and the characters in the movie get off character completly; especially Zangief who is totally off charcter.
Akuma is featured on the cover but he he's barely in the movie, there isn't even one fight scene with Akuma... rip off.
The hole story line with Ryu's fake borther Shun is really anoying "big brother, big brother".
Then when you think you will see interesting scenes with Adon, Birdie, Guy and Sodom... you get robbed insted with a bad story and plot and one of the worst villains.
The movie has nothing to do with the SFA games... keep away

Summary: The second best Street Fighter Movie
Review: Street Fighter Alpha The Movie is the second best Street Fighter anime. The first so far is Street Fighter 2 The Animated Movie but the only reason that sfa comes second is that it was having a little problem with the music. The soundeffects were perfect and if the music was a litle beter the sfa could be the best.
About the story now... The story was one of the best part of the movie. We see Ryu beating up a lot of guys in this movie and this should always be in every sf movies. I mean if Ryu wash'nt on the sf series maybe capcom wouldh'nt be one of the best companys of the world in beat em ups games. This time we see Ryu with shun-the boy who sais that he is his litlle brother having a mysterious energy inside them. They both want to release this energy but they just can't control it because of its large power.
From the other side we have Ken that his purpose in the movie is to enter the sf tournouament. He wants to prove to the world that his is the best fighter.
Chun-li now is entering this movie to find the myterious organization Shadaloo because she things that maybe her father will be there.
The smallest part in this movie has Sacura that she only wants to meet Ryu.She thing that he might learn her some technigues so she ll become strong.
Our stars with Ryu saving a boy from some bad guys and giving the chance to Chun-li learn more about him.In the midlle of the story Shun is being kidnaped buy shadaloo an in this part now is where Ryu must Face the Dark-Hado that is inside him.
For an end i believe that enyone who generally loves sf series should buy this. This movie stands in for all.I mean if somebody only likes fights he would be pleased seing this,if somebody likes stories its the best part of the film.
So SFA is one of the best sf movies and everyone who likes SF should buy it.

Summary: Dissapointing...
Review: As an otacu,Street Fighter is one of my all-time favorites. Street Fighter 2: the animated movie is one of the best animes I have in my collection. So you can guess how anxious I was to watch this one. Unfortunately,it wasn't at all what I expected. There were no real fighting scenes that would really amaze anyone, the characters were poorly drawn, the plot seemed too shallow for what it wanted to present and it was missing key characters from the games. It doesn't even have a fight scene with Akuma!! I mean, common now! That is what most people who know SFA expect. The only element that I consider to be good was how they emphasized on the dark side trying to consume Ryu. I merely reccomend you to rent this.

Summary: Interesting but definitely not up to Street Fighter standard
Review: The most appealing aspect of this film is not in the art but in the plotline. There are interesting revelations about the characters that make you look forward to sequel for this film. However the main problem is that this film just doesn't flow right. Once again the contiutiy is messed up because in this movie, Ryu and Ken know each other and that's it. They don't already know Chun Li or any of the other characters and I think that messed up a good plot that came out of the Street Fighter V series. Sometimes choppy and often confusing, the animation in this film also didn't provide that great of an anime production. The fight scenes were almost anti-climatic with all of the drama built around waiting for someone to shoot a fireball. One problem I see in many anime films is how animators will drag scenes out for what seems like hours while nothing really important happens. Come on people, get creative. where are the elaborate fight scenes with complex moves and so forth?

Summary: READ!!! This Will Influence you LOTS!!!
Review: The First thing I have to say about this movie is...Very x 100 disappointing...let me repeat...very x 100 disappointing. I am a lover of 2-d fighting games, I own the street fighter IIV series, I have the SFAnimated Movie, and lastly, I have this movie. I thank the lord that I got this movie from...ahem...suehprom(spelled backwords...don't want to stir up trouble...). It is SOOOO disappointing. The only "fight" scene that is mediocrely decent is the first one, with Ryu and some thugs, which is about 1 min long...The story was Ridiculous. The last two "boss" fights were 10 seconds each, and...ridiculous. TRUST ME!!! I know what you expect. I've always looked up to capcom as the ultimate, and I still do...Devil May Cry...Onimusha, the like, but this movie was so ridiculous that I just want to....ugghhhh. Don't get it. I mean seriously. The story, action (if any) was really really crudy. I was extremely excited before watching this movie, and 1/4th through I was like, I hope this movie blows me away at the end, otherwise, I'll be angry. Guess what...I turned out to be enraged. This is absolutely ridiculous. If you must remember one thing about this review, it's that the storyline was terrible, just terrible...I don't even suggest you rent it, unless you want to. DON'T buy it.

Summary: Cool movie!
Review: If your a Street Fighter Alpha Fan than you'll like it!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good movie
Review: the movie is good, ...there arent many fight scenes, and the ones that are in the movie, arent all that great, but there are a couple of cool lookin moves/combos, plus ken has a really cool voice, and the screaming he does when he attacks ...but, i dont think this movie is all about fighting, i was more focusing on the plot. it wasnt all that great, but it was very well done. somehow it didnt feel like streetfighter sometimes, because of the doctor and that other big guy. this didnt bother me much though, it was both good and bad. it went pretty deep into ryu's struggle against the dark hadou and stuff, and i really liked the scene right before ryu and ken were goin to fight... get the movie, but if u want just fight scenes, akuma and bison, rent it... either way its worth watching

Summary: It Rocks but sadly disapoints
Review: The manga was really good, I watched it several times because the fight sequences play with the imagination, but sadly I felt a little let down. I was waiting for the big showdown with Akuma and a explosive ending but never occured.I wanted to see alot more of Akuma as he is the main boss instead we are left with a mad docter. This manga needed Akuma and more moves from Ken and Ryu. This manga never got the finish it deserved because it is really good. The final "boss" I feel dies too quick and Ken and Ryu never display the Dragon uppercut(shorryuken). The uppercut is only performed once by Ken towards the end in a explosive outburst but to no avail. As street fighter fan I would love to be given the opportunity to direct my own streetfighter movie as there is so much to be done. The first streetfighter movie (Street Fighter II -The animated movie), was excellent all the way through. This movie ended and finished the way it should have, explosive and fierce. MY VHS copy was ruined as kept rewinding the film over and over again to see the fight scenes. I would recommend these two movies to buy because after watching them you will be left doing the 'shorruyken' and 'hadoken' on your mates and to the extreme standing outside trying to power up.

Summary: THIS IS A STREET FIGHTER MOVIE????!!!
Review:

Cons:
-The name: This is called Street Fighter Alpha, correct? Then why does it have almost nothing to do with the game? The only thing even remotly similar to the game is the evil Ryu/ Dark Hadou thing. But the final scenes? ***They have nothing to do with the game! there's some evil scientist who for some reason which is never explained, wants to harness the energy of Street Fighters around the world. This is incredibly stupid and feel incredibly out of place with the rest of the movie. They should have just kept the first half of the movie, and totally skipped the second half.***

-The animation: It is simply unacceptable. It pales in comparison to the first anime, which had a dark look and feel to it. This one ditches that and instead uses bright colors, that oddly enough, look washed out and out of place.

-The characters: Where's bison? Where's shadow law? WHERE'S AKUMA???? He only makes a five minute appearance!!!

-The plot: Like I said before, the first half isn't that bad, but once it gets half way in, it turns stupid. Again, the second half is incredibly out of place and should not have been included.

-The disk: The movie is full screen! Even though this is a strait to video/dvd movie, they should have made it widescreen. And then there's the extras. There's a making of and an interview. While the English track is 5.1, the Japanese is only stereo. Oh yeah and there's no KMFDM. P>Pro:
-The characters: While I said before that they left out a lot of seemingly important characters, they did manage to throw in some characters from The SFA universe. Ryu, Ken, Dan, Birdie, Chun Li, Rose, and Sakura all make appearances. Like I said before, Akuma is in it too, but his appearance is so breif that I'd hardly even call it a cameo.

-The fight scenes: while they aren't as good as SFII's, the fact that Manga Video even included fight scenes is amazing to me, considering they left every thing else out that made Street Fighter.

-That's it.

Avoid this movie at all costs, but if you must see it rent it. Do not make the same mistake as me by buying this movie.
