Summary: As bad as the show.
Review: Lots of people love Cowboy Bebop, whether it be the show or the movie. I saw the show and I hated it, I saw the movie hoping it would be less sluggish in pacing and be more action oriented. It was worse than the show, it was just like it but it was streched way too long, the reason for the really slow pacing. I got bored watching this and wondered why everyone loves Cowboy Bebop. COWBOY BEBOP IS EXTREMELY OVERRATED!! The animation wasn't all that great either. Watch Akira, which has a plot and animation that blows people away to this day. If you want some sci-fi, watch Star Wars, that beats Cowboy Bebop anyday of the week!! Don't watch this shoddy movie, you won't regret it.

Summary: One of the best times I've had with Spike and the gang
Review: Thankfully the producers did not attempt to undo the ending of the Bebop series with this movie. What we have here is a previously undocumented adventure of the crew of the Bebop. Filled with all the fun and slick style expected of the series.

Summary: Cowboy Bebop The Movie
Review: A must see for all fans of the Cowboy Bebop series. If you are curious about Cowboy Bebop, I reccomend seeing the series first. This was created after the series, but the series is better. Still, this deserves all 4 stars, and quite possible 5 stars for serious CB fans such as myself.

Summary: Quality animation
Review: This anime has everything for a good action movie. The quality of the animation is high and consistent. The plot holds together and keeps a good pace, right to the end. All the elements of sci-fi, terrorist-on-the-loose, and hard-boiled detective come together well. The result is a well-crafted piece of entertainment.

There are lots of well-made anime, however, and this never pulls ahead of the pack. It has a standard look, with long-legged characters and a fairly clean city of the future. The plot elements are used well, but are nothing new. Some of the characters, like Edward, are delightfully quirky, but come across as the requisite side-kick.

The world of anime includes Akira and Miyazaki's work. A movie has to have something exceptional to earn five stars by those standards. I enjoyed this one, as I enjoy lots of other well made flicks. It just never distinguished itself from the rest.

Summary: Something's missing.
Review: Well produced. Some beautiful animation. But surprisingly flat and uninvolving. The (great) series had a lot of range. It featured a change in tone for nearly every episode - and usually managed the shift with amazing ease. The tone of the movie just seems a bit awkward throughout - and there's no hook. Perhaps it takes itself too seriously. Or maybe not seriously enough.

Okiura's photorealistic opening animation was nice. When does he get control of another feature? Jin-Roh showed tremendous promise.

Summary: HOLY JUMPIN CRAP
Review: BRILLIANT!!! I'm an avid Cowboy Bebop fan,( I own the Bebop Movie on DVD both the Japanese Version and the English). This is, without a doubt my favorite movie of all time...The animation is excellent, the dubbing is done well, the plot's fairly fresh and the extras leave very little to be desired.. The R rating is for violence, but it all fits perfectly, the fight scenes are beautifully done...The soundtrack is amazing as well, The music brings everything together perfectly. What can I say? I laughed, I cried, I bought a trenchcoat. FLAWLESS

Summary: Cowboy Bebop series and movie
Review: Anyone that has not seen the series, you do not have to see all of it to understand who the character are or what the show is about. I would recommend watching the first 6 episodes if you want to get an idea of back grounds and a good grasp on who everyone is.

The movie fits in between episodes #23 " Brain Scratch" and #24 " Hard Luck Woman". Not to give anything away on those episodes I will not tell you what happens, but if you see them, mostly #24 then you will see why. You do not have to see either of them to understand the movie. But for anyone out there that see's the movie and wonder where it fits in

You can read other reviews here on the movie itself, I love it, but I am also a big Cowboy Bebop fan, so I try not to let my thoughts tell you to see it or not. If you love Bebop then you will like if not love the movie and if you have not seen the show at all then you might be a little lost.

Summary: "Just a humble bounty hunter, ma'am."
Review: Based on the very popular and successful TV series, "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie" is one entertaining thrill ride that really shows how effective anime can really be when it is done correctly. It's hard to think of a cartoon being so action-packed and involving, but this movie does a splendid job of doing just that. You're plunged right into the nail-biting action that will have you glued to your seat until it is well over.

The movie revolves around a bunch of outlaw bounty hunters. In Mars, there's a suspected terrorist running around with a virus that could very well wipe out the existence of human beings. Spike and company decide to take the case, as there is a large reward that will be given to the person or persons who catches the madman. The only trouble is that Spike and the gang have stumbled onto something that is much more than a simple bounty and end up discovering a big conspiracy that will throw their lives into ultimate danger. The action and excitement never ends until the shocking finale.

I watched the movie TWICE in one day. Right after I had seen it for the first time, I had to immediately watch it again. You know a movie is powerful when it has that kind of effect on you. Very rarely do I run into movies that make me want to watch it again right then and there. When you're watching "Cowboy Bebop," you really don't view it as an animated feature, but as a real living and breathing film. It is done that well. And, the great thing about this movie is that you do not have to have seen the show before. I watched this without seeing any of the shows and was able to follow it without any problems. Of course, chances are that you will want to watch the series after viewing the movie. The story is well thought out and appropriately structured. There isn't a single dull moment in the entire movie.

A little warning; although this is an animated feature, the movie is rated R. While it is certainly more mild than most anime, the movie does contain violence and language. I don't think this is anything for very young children, but I don't see a reason why older teens shouldn't be able to enjoy it.

The DVD has some nifty features to offer. First off, the picture quality is GORGEOUS. Even though it is an animated movie, the picture quality is fantastic and it really shows if you have great home theater system. The sound is also very good. Extras included are featurettes, music videos, storyboard comparisons, trailers and more. You can also watch it in the original Japanese audio track or the dubbed English one. I have to say, they do a great job of dubbing it in English. If you're not a fan of subtitles, then check it out in English. Overall, a very cool DVD package.

If you're looking for a wild and exciting trip filled with humor and thrills, "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie" is just for you. Again, you do not have to have seen the actual TV series to understand the characters or the story. The movie does a fine job of standing on its own. This is truly a great movie that shows you just how exciting anime can be. Definitely a favorite. -Michael Crane

Summary: First Time's a Charm!
Review: This was my first exposure to Cowboy Bebop, and I loved it!

My general theory of anime is that it's either really good, or really bad, and this was definitely good. I was impressed by the high quality production, and the soundtrack, which was something I wasn't expecting.

I also found myself absorbed with the colorful character cast, with the so-cool Spike, gruff veteran Jet, Faye, Mars' sexiest compulsive gambler, and Ed and Ein, both who defy conventional description. The supporting cast also came out strong.

Usually I don't go for the DVD extras, but these interested me too.

I've got to say, this is probably one of the best animes I've seen in years.

Summary: Must for CB fans, but is a disappointing movie on its own.
Review: Well, what can i say, this movie is probably a huge hit with CB fans, being a big fan of CB myself, i probably liked it more so because of the fact. But as a stand alone movie by itself, it was quite disappointing.
The good:
- EXCELLENT ANIMATION
- cool new characters electra and vincent
- awesome music (buy the soundtrack!!)
The bad:
- the plotline has an unfinished feel to it
- dosn't have much development to vincent or electra
- didn't have enough content
