Summary: Anime fan or not, you'll love it!
Review: This was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I think anime haters might even like it. It should be aimed more towards the PG-13 rating than the PG rating, because it might freak out little kids. Spirited Away had a great plot(I mean it), and great anime music. I am kind of an anime fan, and I loved it, so hardcore anime fans will die over it. It had GREAT animation and characters. I don't think I should give away any information about because it will make it less fun for you to see it. It has been re-released in english by Walt Disney Productions. It is originally by Ghibli Studios (creator of My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, etc.). Go see it if you haven't because you'll love it!!!

Summary: Love is a carrier of all
Review: The main character Chihiro a young girl is personal witness to a land of her own. She is whisked away into a land of animal spirits and personal adventure. Beautiful art-mansship flows effortlessly as her adventure unfolds between her triumphs and learnedness. Friends and allies are seamlessly coerced into a flowing adventure that is but a dream. Only Chihiro can travel the path. She is but the hero only forgotten by her endless love for all that is good.

This is a spectacular film. If you have the opportunity to see it in a theater, by all means see it. As of the date of this review (above) this movie is playing in major theaters in the US. Check your city listings.

Summary: Possibly the best film of the year
Review: The true test of how good a kids' movie is is to see how long they can sit through it without fidgeting. Most animated features clock in at less than 90 minutes. Folks, here we have one that runs slightly over TWO HOURS, and our four, five, seven, and nine year old children stayed put for the entire performance. Need I say more?

Of course I will. This truly awesome piece of work is equally entertaining for adults, and is at the top of the list of movies I can't wait for DVD release. They throw so much imagination at you that most people will need several viewings to absorb it all.

The plot, at a simple level, involves the adventures of a girl who gets trapped in a magical land after her parents are "Spirited Away" by a spell. At a more complex level, it can get really complex, but let's just say it involves the girl working in a bathhouse for spirits who need to be cleansed of various things. To go any further would be confusing, but I will say that there are references to protecting the environment throughout.

I've seen only a limited theatrical release of this film, even though it has made megabucks overseas. I urge people to put this high on their "must see" list, as it might not be available to see that long. You don't often see a movie with this much imagination, and has no space ships or references to flatulence that seem obligatory in most of today's films.

Review: After I watched this movie, I've being thinking of it for 2days.
I am so much impressed.Mr.Miyazaki shows us the eternal problem, which we must not forget,"Human is involved in the nature."
Beautiful white dragon "Haku" may be the simbolic image of the warning.
I strongly recommand to show it to our children. And it is also great animation for all generation.

Summary: Too scary for young children
Review: This may be "a great movie" but I can't believe it's only rated PG. In our group were 3 children, ages 5, 6, and 9. The 5 and 9 year olds were BEGGING to leave early in the film. Hoping it would lighten up, we finally gave up and left about 45 min into the movie. It is a very disturbing, creepy story with frighteningly mean spirited characters. Examples: Her parents are turned into pigs, body-less heads roll around on the floor at her feet, she's trapped with these spirits on what has become an island, she begins to disappear unless she eats something she doesn't want to eat, and on and on. This is worse than any "American television" I've let my kids watch, I didn't see any "cute characters" and the "funny" moments were still disturbing. Should have been rated PG-13. If you risk it like I did, don't forget to ask for a pass for a future movie when your kids drag you out. Then go and rent the beautifully animated and uplifting movie "Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron" to clear out the nightmareish images.

Summary: Not for the little ones...
Review: A beautiful movie...unbelievably well done. But....it's way too far out and scary for 5-6 year olds. Kids were scared, and couldn't appreciate the beauty of the movie. I wish I had read some of your reviews before I took the kids. The PG rating comes with a statement of "some scary moments", I'm afraid my kids found it nightmarish in it's entirety.

Summary: Fantastic film! Truly astonishing!
Review: I have seen other films directed by the famed Hayao Miyazaki (ex: Hime Mononoke/Princess Mononoke) and I must say that Spirited Away has to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. Full of emotion, adventure and fantasy, Spirited Away is one of those movies that you'll never forget. I recommend it to all Anime fanatics as well as those that are looking for something to blow them away! ^-^ SPIRITED AWAY ROCKS! :D Go see it! YAY!

Summary: One of Miyazaki's finest pieces...
Review: I have wanted to see this flick since I had heard of it in Japan. I have always been a big fan of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, since I've seen Totoro, KiKi, Princess Mononoke, etc. The story is also very good to this movie and revolves around a bathhouse, I won't spoil too much though! I also did like the music that went to it, it was so addicting, and all the cute little things that Hayao Miyazaki added in! Overall I suggest if you like ani.me you should see this!

Summary: Best animated movie this year.
Review: The U.S. trailer is misleadingly dark. This was a delightful movie that my 10 year old daughter and I really enjoyed. There are funny scenes interspersed between the more serious moments. The story line takes twists and turns that are a delight and not your usual predictable fare. Animation and scenery is breathtaking.

Summary: Spirited Away is delightful and incredible
Review: I'd have to say that it was one of the best movies I've ever seen, for anime and overall. . This is a movie that kept me entertained the whole way through and I was a bit sad when it ended. That says a lot for a 2 hour long movie. Any anime fans out there that haven't seen this movie yet, I highly recommend it, you'll be missing out on a lot if you don't see it. It's a good movie to see for non-anime fans too. And it's not a movie just for kids either. I liked it enough to see it again. I thought the dubbed version was very good. This is an excellent movie.
