Rating: Summary: Geneshaft - The Unknown Gem in Anime Review: Is it just me, or is there a lack of...anything..relating to Geneshaft online? Few forums, few if any anime music videos, and very few people seem to know it. Well, owning the set and having seen the entire show, I can say that Geneshaft is quite good and certainly worth a full viewing. For only 13 episodes, this show does a very good job of introducing and building on many characters. I must say I really liked Sophia Galgalin. Ultimately, I recommend this anime to anyone who is looking to find interest in a new series. For me, Geneshaft surprisingly succeeds in joining the ranks alongside such smashes as Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing, and Outlaw Star. Enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: How unknown Anime titles can exceed expectations Review: With a great plot, excellent soundtrack and good characters (even if some follow the stereotype way) this series can be pretty surprising. In the 23d century, humanity reaches a level of excellence by genetic manipulation, when DNA means everything, being the better individuals the ones who got the best 'genes'. The women are the majority due to the men's nature not being able to control agressive emotions. So the "Registers" exist in function to watch men's behavior and actions. In that scenario there is Mika Seido, the main character who has the "white gene" considered the worst one not having the required abilities according to others, so she is often faced by prejudice. Mika and her friend Sofia Galgalim are designated to a mission at the Spaceship Bilkis, and then things are settled to Geneshaft start.
Even if the "Ring" and "Oberas" elements seem weird at beginning it proves to be great Fantasy/Sci-Fi Action, going deeper in broaching matters like humanity concept, existence. About the ending I felt something was missing but not bad at all. With acceptable CG and clean animation, Geneshaft represents the best Anime can offer, apart from a great rock soundtrack by Akira Takasaki.
