When something precious is lost or stolen, Ginji and Ban, the heroes of this comedy-adventure, will retrieve it--for a price. Although the Get Backers boast "a nearly 100% success rate," their office consists of Ban's old Volkwagen, which always being towed. The little money the pair earns goes to parking tickets and their astronomical tab at the Honky Tonk pizza parlor. But this less-than-dynamic duo commands unusual superpowers. Ginji generates powerful electric charges within his body, capable zapping an enemy or frying a security system. Ban has a bone-crushing grip and his intense blue eyes can produce the Jagan, a deceptive, one-minute hallucination. People hire them to recover anything and everything, from a stuffed toy to a mysterious box "equal in value to platinum."
