Romantic complications come to the fore, as the filmmakers take a break from the high-energy battles of the last few episodes. Inu-Yasha fusses and sulks over wolf-demon Koga's attraction to Kagome, but he also wrestles with his ancient love for Kikyo, who has been raised from the dead by sorcery. Kagome is heartbroken when she sees Inu-Yasha and Kikyo embrace; she realizes she loves Inu-Yasha but can never replace Kikyo in his affections. These relationship crises try the patience of the other cast members.
