Rating: Summary: Uh......huh? Review: okay first of all i'm not going to beat around the bush, this DVD has a lot of good stuff. the animation, the story, the new characters(except one), and of course Char and Amuro. the bad stuff is mostly Quess Paraya, man and I thought Dorothy on gundam wing was irritating. let me just spoil it for some of you guys she dies and it couldn't have happened to a nicer person. the ending really annoyed me did they both die or what? i don't want an open ended ending on what's supposed to be the final chapter of a saga. give me closure. i'll say hathaway is a useless and disposable character so there's nothing more to say. if i had one other beef it would be the voice actors they used instead of the ones from the original vhs release a few years back as amuro sounded too damn young for 29 and char didn't have all the charisma that he had in 0079(the original series)
Rating: Summary: Terrible characters can't overcome the action Review: One of the worst Gundam movies I've ever seen due to the ridiculous characterisation. The hero and the archenemy bickering like former lovers (possible hidden plot twist there), the very annoying, spoiled Quess Paraya and the improbable Hathaway Bright losing it at the end all spoiled it for me despite the lush robot battle porn. One more reason why 08th MS Shotai and 0083 are far superior. Hopefully, when Z or ZZ Gundam inevitably comes out. . .
Rating: Summary: My favorite anime movie! Review: Please note that if you havn't at least seen the original Mobile Suit Gundam you should stay away from this movie. Watching Zeta Gundam will help you enjoy this movie even more as well. But if you havn't seen them and you wanna watch very good mecha action then go for it.This is the final battle of Char and Amuro. Char Aznable is my favorite anime character. To see them battle is so intense, after all these years it ends. It just blows my mind. Many people will be confused by this movie, the ending will really confuse people. But if you watch it enough times you'll understand more and more. Don't worry tho, this is a movie you can watch over & over anyway.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful animation but the story falls flat. Review: The title says it all. The quality of animation is absolutly top notch but the story makes absolutly no sense! Being a fan of the original Gundam series I expected a lot from this DVD in terms of story and I have yet to see Z Gundam which falls in between the original seris and Counterattack. But none of the charachters seem to have any clear motivation for doing anything that they do in this movie. In general the acting is stiff and the purple haired girl is just plain silly and just helps bring the whole thing down. Where's Sayla, Hyato and some of the other original cast? It would have helped continuity a little. You just have Amuro, Bright, Char and Mirai (who spends the whole movie dawdling around on earth pointlessly). This can't be a fault of the translation, it's a flawed, bad story from the get go. It's a shame.
Rating: Summary: newgundam vs sazabl who will win Review: this a very cool dvd get it if you are a gundam fun allso get the game.
Rating: Summary: You haven't seen Gundam until you see this Review: This is easily the best part of the Gundam saga. The battles alone are worth buying the movie. The story, though, will keep you riveted to your seat. All 2 hours and 4 min of it. The dub rivals that of the 08th MS Team (yes, I listen to the dub. I find it easier to focus on the action, and the story than reading what the characters are saying and keeping up). If you think Gundam is ALL politics you've been watching too much Gundam Wing. This isn't "I'll double cross you then triple cross the other guy then double cross him and proceed to double cross you once I'm back on your side." This is Gundam as it should be. No kids piloting mobile suits here (I can never figure out how they do it). Well, that is if you don't count Quess and Hathaway. But either way they stumble into it, so it really doesn't count. The mecha designs are superb. They're about equal to Endless Waltz (that Gundam Wing I understood because I didn't have to worry about missing an episode and getting totally messed up). Still aren't convinced? Hmmm. Just go pay the money and get yourself a movie that is worth every cent. Or miss out on something that is one of the greatest epics of our time. IF you do like this as much as I do check out the following: Mobile Fighter G Gundam (it's on Cartoon Network every day), Mobile Suit Gundam, 08th MS Team, 0083 Stardust Memory, Pilot Candidate (it's really good for a laugh and intresting as well), and something called Outlaw Star. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: THIS IS GUNDAM! You see the episodes of any Mobile Suit Gundam and you might think that this is just like Gundam Wing "Endless Waltz", Which was an ok movie, but alot of the script lines didn't make MUCH SENSE. This movie is the ONLY best Gundam move out there, And, If you do buy this, I'll say this. First, You have very good taste Second, What an ending! This ending of this movie will put a lump in your throat. But i'm not saying it has a sad ending
Rating: Summary: The reason Mobile Suit Gundam was made! Review: This is the final and ultimate battle between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable (aka Casval Rem Daikun). When Zeon rises again as the Neo Zeon independence movement led by Char, the Earth Federation reformed after the end of the Titans conflict is left with only Londo Bell led by Bright Noa and Amuro Ray to combat the threat of the asteroid fortress Axis that is going to be dropped on the Earth and force humanity into space. This movie is about as climatic as you can get and it is really the ending to the UC saga. Char's Counterattack is easily the best Gundam movie and maybe even the best Gundam series. Buy this, you will not be dissapointed.
Rating: Summary: The final conclusion Review: This movie is easily one of my favorite anime experiences ever. Decent animation, great character development, and awesome MS. BUY IT NOW!
Rating: Summary: One of the best anime films out there finally reaches DVD! Review: This movie is quite simply amazing. The story of the final battle between Amuro and Char is one of the best stories ever told. This movie manages to capture the tragedy of these two men, but also manages to maintain a true sense of hope when it concludes. It's great to see this phenemonal movie on DVD. Let's just hope that Bandai brings Zeta Gundam and Double Zeta Gundam to us soon, and of course the other chapters in the Universal Century Saga (Gundam F91 and Victory Gundam).
