Description:

Complications ensue when Cacao, the hero of this featherweight romantic comedy, awakens to find the green-haired Hinano in bed with him. As he reconstructs the previous day, he learns that he sneezed as Professor Ganache was casting a spell, causing a faerie to enter a marionette's body and create Hinano. Klutzy and perennially famished, Cacao is another in the long line of agreeable goofs with untapped potential, in this case the ability to become a "great sorcerer." Hinano adores Cacao, to the chagrin of the dashing Truffle, who is smitten with her. The filmmakers spoof the clichés of animated romances--sparkles, breaking waves, waltzes, princess costumes, etc.--in the relationship between blond Deborah and handsome Captain Muratake, who talks like Kuno in Ranma 1/2. Trouble Chocolate plays like a cross between Urusei Yatsura and Harry Potter set in Hershey, Pennsylvania. (Rated 13 and older: mild risqué humor, cartoon violence) --Charles Solomon
