Description:

Life at Ohtori Academy grows increasingly bizarre when Nanami finds an oddly marked egg in her bed. She decides she must have laid it, tries to care for it, and is heartbroken when it breaks. Ruka, the former captain of the fencing club, returns and wins a match from Jury. He also comes between her and Shiori (who seem to be more than friends) then returns to the hospital to die. Anthy's brother Akio makes a play for Utena, even though he has a rich fiancée and Utena insists she loves only her Prince. While these emotional threads tangle and untangle, the usual duels continue, although Anthy now draws the Dios sword from Utena's chest (rather than vice versa). The animation is growing more limited, with increasing numbers of still frames and reused movements. (Not rated: suitable for ages 14 and older: violence, suggestions of homosexuality) --Charles Solomon
