Rating: Summary: One of the Greatest Anime's Ever ! Review: Cyber City Odeo 808 is one the greatest anime's that I have ever seen. The action is equal to cowboy bebop. The story's are full of action and sci-fi. From the beginig to the end this movie is full of every thing that a anime should have, it's perfect. I was ratrher amazed to see a anime this great that has not been talked about as much as it should be. All I can say is that you just have to check it out your self it's totaly worth it.
Rating: Summary: A hidden pearl Review: Fantastic serie. I found this DVD by accident in a rental store. Nobody ever bothered to watch! True cyberpunk atmosphere (Blade Runner), lots of action, excellent storylines, interesting characters. Borrows a lot of details from other SF movies/comics (Terminator I & II, Wedlock, Robocop, Star Wars, Johnny Mnemonic, etc), but gives them original twist. My favorites are vehicles - straight from Judge Dredd comics. :)No, it's not Ninja Scroll or Ghost in a Shell, but it's close. Too bad there's no more episodes. :( BTW, I saw Heavy Metal 2000 a week later. Seemed like an animation school freshman project compared to Oedo, and boring and immature to boot.
Rating: Summary: Definately a favourite Review: Far into the future crime is so uncontrollable that the police force recruits convicts serving hard time to act as special police agents. In return for services rendered the crims will have their sentenced reduced until they eventually reach freedom. However, if they fail the explosive collar around their neck is detonated. The main characters are Ben-ten, Gogl and Sengoku and each episode focusses on them. All the characters are brilliant in their own ways but i would have to say Sengoku the rockabilly greaser and Gogl the computer hacking punk are my favourite. Though Ben-ten and Hase Gawa (their contoller) aren't without their charm. OEDO 808 is well written with a good story and very, very good characters (i just cant help seeing traits of my own frustrations in them) and witty dialogue, the best of which is delivered by Sengoku in anger to his situation and surroundings. Also the english language version is actually pretty good and not lacking as in most dubs. This is a real gem of a series that i scored in a second hand shop in a hick town in the middle of nowhere that was so cheap i had to purchase them. Must have been my lucky day!!!

Rating: Summary: Horrible Review: I bought this anime only because I was at the mall and I felt like buying something. Sadly, it was money wasted on this. The storyline is weak and boring. The writers must have known that because to cover up how boring it is they threw in hundreds of profanities. These people swear in every sentence they speak. If you're a kid, make sure you turn the volume down so mom doesn't hear it. If you're a parent, don't buy this for your kid. There are so many fantastic anime movies out there. Please don't waste your time with this one. I beg you!
Rating: Summary: For those who love SF Review: I loved it! 3 criminals, locked up in space for life! Now fighting to reduce their sentence. The animation is lovely, it creates a nice atmosphere. A movie that can almost be placed next to Macross Pluss.
Rating: Summary: This was One COOL DVD. Review: It's a common story - a special law enforcement agency recruits skilled convicts to do it's dirty work. Only this is in Megatokyo, the crooks are almost super-human in their abilities, and the action is non-stop. If you liked Sin, you'll love this. It's Golgo 13 on speed. A must have for any Anime fan!
Rating: Summary: Cyberpunk plot stealing anime. Review: Ok so here we have some early low budget anime that likes to borrow from some sci/fi classics. The three main characters are held inside of a prison in outer space, and they are told they can reduce their sentences by doing the jobs even the police can't handle. They wear these electronic neck devices that explode if tampered with or set off. Both of these things clearly rip off who? The Running Man! Next is the mega-city, which I am definitely a sucker for. If you like the Blade Runner, Judge Dredd, Akira, Bubblegum Crisis mega-city element than you'll enjoy this, even though this mega-city isn't as amazing as the classics I just listed. One criminal in his scenario fights a Terminator like character, the other fights some vampires, "Blade" anyone? Ok so point is, if you're into cyberpunk/anime, you'll probably enjoy this, but only if you can appreciate its borrowing and not be so critical. Think of this as Cowboy Bebop's grandfather.
Rating: Summary: The best SF-Action Serie ever! Review: The best SF serie I've ever seen! The year is 2808 AD.3 criminals each sentenced to about 300 years and with the possibility of parole of about 0.004% are offered a deal by the state:spend the rest of their lives rotting away in the space prison they're in or work for the special service section of the Cyber Police. With every A-class Cybercriminal they catch the state knocks of a bit of their sentence.Any chance of getting your freedom has gotta be better than no chance, right? The catch is that they get to wear explosive collars in case they try to escape.3 episodes. Each concentrating on one of the criminals. Any SF Anime fan should check this out! It's AWESOME!
Rating: Summary: the best short sci-fi anime ever? Review: The cyber city collection is one of the finest anime's ever produced. It combines exellent voice talents with high action stories that are related by the three main convicts in the manga. The story centres around the city of oedo 808 having to hire notorious criminals to serve as cyber police men. However if they fail a mission they are executed by means of a collar around their neck. Naturally the three are less concerned with public order than they are with trying to subvert the justice system. This anime contains a great deal of swearing and violence and a soundtrack that perfectly suits the Matrix style plots. Overall it makes an exellent purchase especially as the DVD format makes the visuals and sound that much better.
