Summary: Great Anime but I wouldn't reccomend it for most people
Review: Gasaraki is a series following highly mobile weapon platform and an apathetic guy called Yushiro Gowa, it later takes some deeper effects but for this DVD that's it. The reason I wouldn't recomend this is because the actual movie isn't that great, the reason I find it enjoyable is the thought it provokes, and I've heard the same thing from other people I know who have seen this. people talk about how it is similar to Evangelion, in case you're an Evangelion fan I find no similarities other than there are robots and the two main character are just a little like Rei, however if in evangelion, you found episodes 25 and 26 better than episode 19, I would defenately recomend this for you, otherwise I don't think you'll be able to appriciate it.

Summary: ...Wow.
Review: Gasaraki is great in so many ways. I can't believe there are still people that call anything with mechs an Eva-clone, while praising Brain Powerd (and trying to justify its mis-spelled name, for that matter), something that actually IS an Eva-clone, right up to characters and actual plot. Sure, there are some minor similarities between Evangelion and Gasaraki, but only those looking for a reason not to like Gasaraki are looking for them.

Anyway, Gasaraki: Hajime Yatate finally creates something that's worth spending $ on. Gundam's been beaten into the ground a thousand times (and its corpse dismantled by spinoffs like Gundam X...). FINALLY, Yatate-san shows that he has some original ideas left.

The music, sound, animation, it's all excellent. There are just enough action elements so it's not too boring, but not too many so that there's no plot.

Another breakthrough for Gasaraki is the voice acting. ADV decided to switch to dub-only releases just when they got good at it. The dub is great.

Summary: Nothing new here....
Review: Gasaraki is nothing new in terms of anime. The animation is decent, and that is probably its strong point. The series starts off extremely slow, and I found myself falling asleep the first few episodes. Even when the story is established, it is just a combination of elements from Evangelion, Gundam Wing, and a few other anime. I would like to finish the series, but its not worth buying.

Summary: "Amazing Anime
Review: Gasaraki is one of the best animes I have ever seen. I am kind of an amatuer anime fan, but I have seen a lot of movies and this one tops them all. It has a deliciously complex plot and great characterization, all the while keeping you hooked with its drama and explosions. It's one of those movies that, after watching it, you audibly say WOW!, even if you're alone and sit and stare at the credits for about fifteen minutes before snapping yourself out of the trance and rewinding the movie and watching it again.

Summary: one word summary....
Review: I can pretty much sum up this anime in one word...cliche. First you have the [bad] corporation vying for world domination. You have the cheesy mechs straight out of the 80's, and the main character fits the category of cleche like a glove. I'm pretty confident that this movie was scripted by 10-year olds who take themselves too seriously. I'm kicking myself for wasting the 20 or so dollars I spent on this worthless piece of "anime" I wouldn't waste my money on buying or even renting this.

Summary: Gasaraki is one of the best anime titles I have ever seen
Review: I cannot tell you how great this new ADV title is. I was fortunate enough to get an advance copy of Gasaraki (thank you very much VH) and I was thoroughly blown away with the animation and the premise behind this title. The story is soooo great and it unravels as you watch this amazing animation. I stress buying this title will change your life. The first three episodes on tape 1 are somewhat slow, but remember this is a long story arc that takes some time to set up. BELIEVE ME, ITS WORTH IT! If you're trying to decide what new anime you need, make it GASARAKI. You will not be disappointed. An' I'm out.
