Summary: 12% Enjoyment....99% Cheese !
Review: Sorry to say, but even if I own this movie, Dragonball Z: Lord Slug is the worst among all of the DBZ movies. But don't get me wrong here. This is not the only worst movie. There are other DBZ movies that (stink) like the movies featuring the character Broly, the ultimate Super Saiyan. Anyway let me explain this movie. The animation is top-notch. As always, Akira Toriyama is always letting his ideas do the hard work creating superb looking characters (including the main villain Lord Slug. He looks like a pumped up version of Piccolo !), the quality of the energy beams, and the blood spills. The comedy, which lasts for about a few seconds, is awesome. Everyone likes the part where Gohan and Icarus annoys Piccolo with their whistling music and the part when the news reporter Hashimoto freaks out. The part where Piccolo sweats with irritation and screams out really made me laugh. The action is okay. Pretty much the same old traditional aerial battles from the previous 3 movies (all three of the early DBZ movies are better than this one), but some raw violence and excitement are found here. The best parts of the violence are when Lord Slug blasts his men who oppose and offend him, and when Piccolo goes into battle with one of Lord Slug's henchmen. And the music, perfectly matches the action and dramatic sequences perfectly. Now for the bad side. The way the story went, it was too darn short. I was pretty much expecting a long lasting plot like the one from Dragonball Z: The Worlds Strongest. I was very disappointed when it ended at a short time. Sure the action was amazing, but then again, it wears off during the battle with Goku and Lord Slug. The action really got boring with all of the same moves. And what's the deal with this so-called, "Super Saiyan transformation" ? Goku is just surrounded by yellow energy with no pupils. That is not Super Saiyan. When he becomes Super Saiyan, his hair is supposed to be yellow and the pupils in his eyes are supposed to be green, not lit up with yellow flames and pupilless eyes. What were they thinking ? That is one thing they really (messed) up on. No ! This is not FUNimation's fault this time ! It's the people who worked on the movie. It's their fault ! And I kept on asking myself, "why can't Lord Slug be much better than movies #1, #2, and #3 ?". To others, it's a total waste of money, but if you're anything like me and you're very anxious to see every DBZ movie in English, none of us members from Amazon or any fan of DBZ will not try to stop you. All-in-all, this is the worst DBZ movie ever, but it still has its great moments. Like I said, if you want to see all of the DBZ movies so badly, we're not holding you back, so go ahead.

Note: The 5th movie "Dragonball Z: Cooler's Revenge" will come out Jan. 2002 and it will be way better than all four of the DBZ movies. Expect more better action than the "Lord Slug" movie.

Summary: English is an improvement, for a change.
Review: While we already know this is the worst of the DBZ movies, I do have some very positive things to say about it. I first watched the Japanese with subtitles, and found it to be a very action oriented movie which seemed to be drawn correctly, but didn't quite seem to be written by the same people that brought you the series. I then watched it in the English language and was very impressed. Whomever translated this took a fan's artistic license with the dialog. Weak reasoning and poor direction from the original nearly vanished, and out came a more true to the saga movie.

P.S. I believe Goku to have actually gone Ultra Saiya-Jin in this movie, not Super Saiya-Jin. For example, he powered up, his eyes went pure white, and his speed didn't appear to increase. The same happens when Brolly and future Trunks go Ultra Super Saiya-Jin. As in, they can become either Ultra, Super, or both. But I'm just guessing of course.

Summary: Horrible
Review: This movie is bad. REALLY bad. The plot is very boring and it is cheesy. The rock music in the background is unbearable, and it is played throughout most of the movie. The animation quality was good. But, this movie is definitely not worth your money. Unless you want to see how bad it is, buy something else.

Summary: The best AMERICAN Movie
Review: This is probably the best AMERICAN Movie. Not the best special but the best movie. History of Trunks is better than this but this is a good movie. This is a pretty good movie but 5 and 12 arethe best no doubt! This movie is packed with great music, animation although lacking humor it's still good. Also Goku killed Slug with the combined might of Kaioken and a Sun Bomb :P I didn't really get the Super Saiyan thing. All it was was a stronger form of Kaioken that had a golden aura instead of red and no pupils. Besides he was only SSJ for like a minute!! He got mad cause everyone depended on him, Slug tried to punch him, Goku grabbed it turned "Super Saiyan" weakend Slug about a minute later Slug ripped off his own arm and regenerated it which caused Goku return to normal! I don't get it!

Summary: probably one of the best of the movies....
Review: it was great how Goku DIDN'T use a spirit bomb at the end of the movie to win, because that's starting to get old. The SSN thing was kind of confusing since i thought the first time he turned Super Saiyan was when he was fighting Frieza and isn't the movie befoe the Frieze saga on the timeline? This is probably my favorite after the History of Trunks which i think was a tv special anyway. The only annoying part was the music, it didn't fit half the time, they used music much better in the History of Trunks. The animation however was better than the other ones except for Trunks....

Summary: Dragon Ball Z - The Movie - Lord Slug
Review: This love this movie, it is one of the best and it is obviously why people even watch DBZ in the fist place-- The Action --in bad reviews, others may say that it sucks only if you are comparing it to all the other DBZ movies, if you are just comparing this to why you love DBZ, then this one is really something you will love, and yes it was titled in the japanese version "Super Saiyan Goku" and Goku doesn't really turn super sayian is the fact why the english version has decided on giving it the name of Lord Slug, so if you hated the Japanese version give the english one a try because this one has way more quality, and more hardcore sounds to match the actions especially with hardcore sounds from Disturbed and Deftones, so if you haven't seen this movie yet, I recommend it, especially for DBZ/Disturbed/Deftones fans

Review: where to start.the one thing i liked is that dance with gohan and higher dragon.no what i hate.but this super sayian crap it is just a kaioken with no pupils maybe hes blind.and the super namek ha what a crop Piccolo is the only super namek.then no vegeta.and the way slugboy dies is gohan what a fight he goes ssj2 for the first time in the movies,J/K,Gohan whistles and goku not the purple fruity flavor aka.blinded kiaoken, just beats him.did i mention no vegeta oh yah piccolo pulls his ears off.the music sucked at least in the jap version they dont use as much music and slug is the only really strong villian i mean all the other fighters except the 4 others like the ginyu can be beaten by Chi-Chi.AND THERE IS NO VEGETA!!!!!!!!!!!never ever touch the movie just watch the frieza saga a least vegeta is in it.

Review: i've saw many reviews on lord slug the movie
and some think it's stupid cause it's got some kiddie stuff
in it i'm gonna buy the dvd of this movie if i see it i'm gonna like it because it's dragonball z

Summary: The best DBZ movie since Tree of Might!
Review: I really liked the beginning when Gohan and Ickeras were dancing and Piccolo was getting annoyed, it was just funny. I still can't believe that Lord Slug is a Namek, that just surprised me greatly. He's a Super-Namek who was banished from his planet because he was getting too consumed by his power. So now he's come to Earth, and it's the Z Fighters' job to stop him. I really thought it was funny when Lord Slug punched Krillin in the air and Krillin said "HE'S ALL YOURS GOKU!" In the end I bet you can guess what happens.
