Rating: Summary: Not good in the least. Review: I rented this DVD and couldn't get through all 3 episodes. Maybe it was just the poor job the English voice cast was doing or a poor translation, but I got the feeling that it was probably fairly close to the original.
The premise is that some people can form their inner energy into a spirit-like form (called "Stands"). The only real use I saw for this was to do battle with other people who can do the same. Wait, there is one guy who can make pictures appear on blank film, but it's always the series' bad guy, surrounded by darkness. Real useful talent, that.
The lead hero "Jojo" has just discovered he has this power, ergo Jojo will now go on a bizarre adventure. Jojo looks suspiciously like Bantaro Sanbanmatsu (aka Chief, Skipper, and Boss) from Jubei-Chan the Ninja Girl (a much, much, much, etc., better series that Jojo could ever dream of being) except he's taken enough steroids to kill a horse and he's lost all trace of personality and charisma. Despite the fact that Jojo acts like a lunk of a dullard, the high school girls still follow him around, even fighting openly over him. When Jojo's not just standing there breathing, he's occasionally a jerk.
In short, this anime has a bad script (perhaps it's a bad translation), poor acting, a hero who's a grade A dullard, and a cheesy premise. If you're looking for a violent story about a brooding protagonist, I suggest Berserk instead.
