Rating: Summary: Amazing in every aspect. Review: I bought these DVDs separetly a couple of years ago and was astounded at what I saw. This anime is amazing. The animation is great and I love the character designs(there different from any anime I've seen before). The story is a very dark sci-fi drama about a robot girl named Key. I won't ruin any of it for you as it is very good. This is a very dark show though for having a pinocchio esque story. There is blood, gore, and some nudity so Id say it would be more appropiate for older teens. The characters are all really great and help to keep you enthralled in the story. Also the music fits well adding to the great atmosphere. Key kind of reminds of Lain, if you've seen and liked that show you will most definantly like this one. So if you like dark psycological sci-fi dramas, then don't even think about it buy it now(especially since its in this new really cheap box set) its worth every penny.
Rating: Summary: Good graphics Review: I like this anime, but not enough to buy it. I really like the graphics and the plot, but, like Witch Hunter robin, everthing's a bit dull. Every episode is very connected to each other. Also, there isn't much action (violence or other ^_~). It's worth renting, but not buying.
Rating: Summary: Quite excellent Review: Key the Metal Idol is one of the finest anime I've seen in a while. It's got an incredible atmosphere, an involving story, moving characters and wonderful music. No, it's not perfect: sometimes the story just goes a bit over the top, stretching suspension of disbelief to the limit; other times it is clear that dialogue is being used solely as a means of conveying information. These instances are quite rare, however, and mostly the series just draws your right in. After watching just so many Eva/Gundam/Younameit-clones, this series was a refreshing, original, captivating, sometimes painful yet highly enjoyable experience. I'm glad I own it.
The last series I watched before this was Cowboy Bebop, and it's amusing to note how that supposed great fades by comparison.
Ah, also, if you appreciate Japanese music, the soundtrack CD that comes with this alone is worth half the price of this collection. It would've been great even as a stand-alone album (in fact, I started listening to it and enjoying it before I started watching the series).
