Shinigami (elite undead member) Asato Tsuzuki and his new partner Hisoka Kurosaki expand their discordant buddy relationship as this supernatural adventure continues. When he befriends the donor's orphaned daughter, Hijiri is drawn into a murderous intrigue. Fortunately, Tsuzuki and Hisoka are on the job. Hisoka learns that beneath the klutzy-cute exterior, Tsuzuki is tormented by memories of the crimes he committed when he was alive. The climactic battle between Sagatanas and the agents from the Ministry of Hades features striking designs for the canine devil and the white tiger that attacks him. The gay subtext is even more pronounced in these episodes, which are unlike any Western animation.
