Summary: Oh what it could have been.
Review: Final Fantasy has the makings of a pretty good show, it really does. But as I understand things Square kinda ran out of money before they finished making the show. There really should have been more episodes, but there arn't. The premise for the show is reasonably good and the characters are pretty good too. It's just that not much happens and when it does everything happens way to fast. The first 20 odd episodes are kind of slow to develop the plot and then in the last episode they throw what should have been about ten episodes of plot development at you in about a minute and a half for a finale which, while spectacular, is really not all that good and poorly resolved. My advise is to not bother buying the show and to borrow it from someone else.

Review: Final Fantasy Unlimited (FF:U) is a great series about 2 kids looking for there parents in a strange world. They meet a man named Kaze who seems to be looking for someone. They are attacked by a stange man....er...boy named Count Tyrant and his deathlords. They must survive and find there parents before the Count finds them. The series is full of action and comedy, and the characters are wonderful. Even if you hated all the FF games, give this anime a check, you'll be glad you did!

Review: Final Fantasy Unlimited has great qualities one may look for in an animated series. First of all, the story is pretty decent and captivating. It starts off a little slow, but once things pick up, it really is hard to be pulled from.
The story is basically about two children looking for their parents who have mysteriously disappeared in the world of Wonderland. The two find their way into Wonderland, beginning their adventure of mystery and exotic lands.
There is a combination of animations. One animation type looks hand drawn and simplistic. The artwork is not very detailed, but still done nice. The second type of animation is 3D computer generated. It sounds like the two and two wouldn't work together, but they blend well nicely.
It's a great series to watch for a Final Fantasy fan because it has qualities from the games.
1.) There are summons such as Phoenix.
2.) Fanfare Victory music is played: just like the games. (maybe cheesy, but it's there)
3.) There are chocobos. (chocobo music is even played)
4.) In all Final Fantasy games, there's a man named Cid. In FF: Unlimited, there is also a man named Cid.For a start, FF: Unlimited (Phase 1) is well done. The first episode may be a little slow, but it's great when it picks up. The lead characters have great personalities. However, I find the little girl a little obnoxious at times. The chocobo is cute, as it likes to yank on the little girl's hair and yell out, "KWEH!" from time to time. The enemies in this series are a little corny, but all in all not bad. I give Phase 1 a 4 stars because of the slow start. I also didn't like feeling like FF: Unlimited was a rip from Alice in Wonderland. I wish they would've named the world something a little more creative, but that's just me being picky.

Summary: A bizarre beginning, but it has potential
Review: Final Fantasy: Unlimited gets off to a very odd beginning. The artistic style is different from most animes, and it's also different from most US animation. In fact, it doesn't really lie anywhere in-between. At the get go, the strange mix of CG animation and hand-drawn animation don't really seem to mesh too well.. but given enough time, you will get used to it, and perhaps even enjoy it. The English voice acting is decent.. All the characters match their voices quite well... although the twins (who's names are pronounced "You" and "I") sound just like kids. "That's good," you say. "They are kids." Yes, you're right, but the voice actors sound like they're trying too hard. Kids attempting to voice act = bad. The Japanese dub might be preferable. The plot seems to be a bit bland and generic at the moment, but we'll have to wait for it to evolve, the same as in any story. While some of the action is mildly violent, the general feel of this series isn't adult by any means. While an adult can catch a lot more of the symbolism than could a, adolescent, the plots themselves are thus-far simple and perhaps a bit childish. If you're a die-hard fan of the series (like I am, admittedly) you'll probably want to pick this up at some time. However be warned, the TV show is very odd. Alice in Wonderland comes to mind. Traditional animation + traditional storyline + recreational drugs... Is this bad? Perhaps not, it may turn out to be something new and original... but the beginning doesn't seem to be anything too special. The box art is decent, and the box construction quality is very good. If you've bought it, try the next DVD and make a judgment then. If you haven't tried it out yet, you may want to consider waiting for the next few Phases to be released and reviewed. Just be prepared for a bit of insanity.

Review: Here is a very short review. I mainly wanted to make sure this anime doesn't get a bad rating due to a few who didn't like it. I give it 4 stars because I really enjoy watching this story. AND - I really like the characters. You gotta love the chocobo always trying to eat Ai's hair. And isn't she just the cutest when she's mad? Anyway. I like it. So that's my review.

Review: I am really caught up in this series! GREAT storyline like in all Final Fantasies. I don't like the mixing hand drawn animation with the CGI but it's not that annoying. I really like the hand drawn stuff much more. Seeing the Summons animated this way is a real treat and a lot of the characters resemble those in FF games. There's a character that looks like Squall from FF8, a character who looks like Cloud (Who is actually Cid in this) from FF7, and there's a cute chocobo thrown in. And fans of the games will recognize classic music being used in the background. I love it.

Review: I enjoy this anime not because it has the "Final Fantasy name"
cause I enjoy the plot and characters.
The anime gets such low ratings cause they think of it as "Final Fantasy" and base it off the games. FFU is an orginal Final Fantasy title, like every final fantasy game has it's own storyline. What people actually want is a final fantasy anime that is based on one of the games. People have no concideration for an original FF storyline anime. That's why it gets such a low rating. I am not a newbie to anime, I personally look for the message of FFU, which is family and friends conqure evil and keep hopes high. I think to be a true fan of this anime is to get its message. I would suggest this to non-final fantasy fans, because they wouldn't judge the anime on how Final Fantsish it is.

Summary: Best so far...
Review: I found this DVD more riveting than those in the beginning of the series. I, for one, especially enjoyed the episode with Makenshi/Kumo's brother and their duel; however, I would have liked the background between them and the destruction of their homeworld explained a little more fully. I've felt from the beginning of this series that Makenshi/Kumo was not all he seemed and this episode especially works to make you realize that. I'm looking forward to Phase 6 and hope that it will begin to wrap this short-lived series up. As always, the cast is first rate -- especially J. Shannon Weaver; J. Hudson Brownlee and in Episode 18 -- David Stokely.

Summary: Very Disappointing!!
Review: I have been a big fan of Final Fantasy since I played the first game for Nintendo. I have been eagerly awaitng this set to come out. However when I watched the first episode, I was very disappointed, the animation is terrible, the story is weak, does not resemble the series at all. I don't think any fan of the series will be happy with this set.
