Rating: Summary: Sweet! Review: I can say it's really good! the dubbing is not all good (I wish that they would have kept vegeta's voice!), but I like it because: It's uncut! I've seen DBZ in spanish, english, cantonese, & japanese. I can say this is a great conversion!
Rating: Summary: Great, and very close to perfect Review: I liked it. I liked how they all delt with the remaining Ginyu. I don't mind the new voices, I understand (unlike most of the whiney revewers and buyers), by what ever means that led to Funimations termination with their affiliation with pioneer, that some things would have to change. Since Funimation no longer has access to Poineer dubbing equipment, or its voice talent, things would be off scale a little bit. And I really dont care anyway. I'm just happy that fiftey new episodes are being translated and aired here in america! The only problems I had with the new videos was the mixing in the sound effects and voices. The voices were too high and the sounds were too low. I keept hearing Vejita below a war cry while the huge blast surrounding him sounded like no more than squeeking mouse in a mousetrap. That and the acting wasn't very good, though I do admire the new actors accuracy in getting most of the characters orgional voices as close as they could--with a few small exceptions.
Rating: Summary: Very good tape but why new voices? Review: I liked this tape a lot cuz now we get to see new freshly dubbed dbz episodes! but why did they change the voice actors and background music? other than that, this tape and the one before it were pretty good. Also, I don't see why some people "hate" the American version of DBZ, i like both versions, I have seen them both, they are both good.
Rating: Summary: DBZ Captain Ginyu-Double Cross Review: I love DBZ the animation the story themes and the grafic nature of the cartoon and it's non stop action secequence.
Rating: Summary: Great, but could've been better. Review: I love Dragonball, and up until now, I have rated ALL the videos at 5 stars. The new episodes just released I give all 4 stars, because of the bad decision to recruit different voice actors. POOR Vegitta !!! He is my FAVORITE character, and his voice in the older episodes rocked! Now, his voice is mediocre and could've been a whole lot better. A person who just now began to watch Dragonball Z would rate the new episodes at 5 stars, but to veterans of the series, I believe 4 is justified. Overall this video is a GREAT , and if you don't buy it, you're missing out on the best anime ever created!!!
Rating: Summary: It was great! Review: I loved this tape. Especially the part where Captain Ginyu turned himself into a frog!
Rating: Summary: could it be any slower Review: I think this is a great series that also has a great storyline, but I definately think they could turn up the speed a notch. I mean it takes like an hour of animation to show 1 battle. And they switch characters constantly to show meaningless things. Its like they want to drag the series into over 60 episodes when it could have been done just as well in 30. Now with that said this DVD has some very good episodes and I would recommend it, but don't waste your money buying the whole series just watch it on Cartoon Network!
Rating: Summary: Double Cross, Double Value Review: I thought DBZ was good in edited format, but now when they are also avaliable unedited they totally ROCK! Watching the unedited episodes gives a totally different feel to the series. The only thing I can remark on is the changed voices, but you get used to that after 1-2 episodes. All unedited episodes are a MUST for a DBZ-fan! If you get the edited version you will regret it if you ever watch the unedited one.
Rating: Summary: I loved it can't wait till the next movie is transulated Review: I thought it was great and that anyone who likes Dragon ball z or even if they have never heard of it should enjoy this movie!!!
Rating: Summary: Horrible sound, excellent animation... how sad. Review: I was thrilled when I bought an actual uncut version of DBZ. Even though many people complain that the Japanese version is better, I seem to enjoy the American version. Everything was great until someone opened their mouth. Their voices were terrible! Totally unremimnicent of the (american) characters we know and adore. The music was awful also, it sounded like it was recorded on a "Casio" keyboard. The sound alone was enough to make me lose interest. I mean with all the money "Funimation" makes off DBZ they could at least give us a quality video with original voices.
