Rating: Summary: Pop, fizz, what a relief it is! Review: Hey! This is better than the first season. It has seasons 2-3 on it. Season 3 is my least favorite season becase it only has one episode, Crime of the Century. It's a decent episode, but it's not how I wanted the show to end. My favorite episode is Mega X. It has Mega Man X, Vile, and Spark Mandrill. They travel to Mega Man's time. My only 2 complaints about that episode is 1: No Zero:( and 2: The computer spells Sigma "Cigma"
I reccomend you to add this to your DVD collection!
Rating: Summary: Its MEGAMAN!!! Review: ...I could care less if the show is like the game or not. It's megaman and he is just so cool. Any episode I've seen of his is stellar...I give this five stars because Megaman is the coolest video game character of all time and his show is even cooler. The episodes are amazingly exciting. I'm so happy they have this DVD because the show has been cancelled. BUY this!!!THE SKINNY: You should really buy this because it's the entire second (and final) season on one DVD. It's for a great price too!
Rating: Summary: Wicked Review: Although the series, as stated in the review above, was vastly inaccurate, the series was still rather great, and these DVDs are a must have for any Megaman fan. The second series was, in my opinion, better than the first. Having never seen the final episode (season three, in other words) I can't rate it for anything. But this DVD is going to kick some major ..., which is why I pre-ordered the moment I could. =)
Rating: Summary: I love Mega Man Review: I'm not an Otaku. I liked the Robot designs though. I think the show had some good points, the only reason why I bought these DVDs in the first place. The voice acting and animation are of decent quality. Too bad the storyline is rather weak in some episodes and terrible in others. I watch the bad episodes for laughs. I've seen some decent episodes considering the many flaws this series has. It is worth a try considering the fact the Mega Man cartoon won't get a makeover.
Rating: Summary: The second season rocks on DVD Review: I've enjoyed the MegaMan cartoon since I got the first 2 episodes on home video back in '96. Now I finally have the entire series on DVD. This 3-disc set encompasses the entire second season (eps 14-26) and the only episode of season 3 (27, natch). ADV did a great job releasing the final 14 episodes, and cheap, at that! Extras include ADV previews.
Rating: Summary: Excellent series Review: If you didn't know it, Megaman, the video game hero, was featured in an animated series from 1994-1996. However, the series was not just a retelling of the game storyline, it used many unique plots none of the games ever had. Several substantial differences between the games and cartoons are evident (robot masters are much taller, series takes place in America and not Japan, Roll is Megaman's sidekick, etc.)Differences between cartoons and games aside, this is a pretty good cartoon, with plenty of action. Believe it or not, for the most part I like the TV series plot BETTER than the game plot, despite a few blunders the TV series has made. This set contains the entire second season, which consists of nearly five hours worth of material (a steal of a deal if you ask me.) Read on for some episode summaries. Campus Commandos - Dr. Light creates a school for robots, which Dr. Wily attempts to conquer so he can gain their knowledge for his own robots. The Day the Moon Fell - Dr. Wily invents a tractor beam he uses to pull the moon close to earth, which causes extremely turbulent weather. Showdown at Red Gulch - Dr. Wily gives his robots pieces of a meteor that recently fell. With these in hand, Wily's robots become seemingly invincible. Terror of the Seven Seas - Dr. Wily creates a huge sea fortress. Megaman infiltrates it with hopes of destroying it before Wily can unleash it on the world. Mega Dreams - Dr. Wily invents a device that allows his robots to enter people's dreams. They can hypnotize people this way. He hopes to use it on a space station's personnel so that he can look over every living being in the world. Robo-Spider - Dr. Wily creates a huge robotic spider which seems to be unbeatable. Master of Disaster - Dr. Wily finds a magic lamp, and orders the genie inside to destroy Megaman. Night of the Living Monster Bots - Dr. Wily builds robots based on famous monsters. He decides to shoot a movie with them, which he will use to spread fear of his creations. Curse of the Lion Men - A comet reawakens a series of humanoid lions, who hypnotize humans and robots alike into working for them, including both Dr. Light and Dr. Wily. Brain Bot - Dr. Light creates a super smart robot. Dr. Wily will stop at nothing to obtain it. Bro Bots - Protoman supposedly gives up being evil and fights alongside Megaman. Bad Day at Peril Park - At a new amusement park, Dr. Wily hypnotizes people into thinking they are robots. He then orders them to destroy Megaman. Mega X - Two extremely powerful robots from the future come to steal Dr. Light's titanium rods, which they can use to finance a war on humans in their own time. But another robot comes from the future as well, and this one is an ally. Crime Of The Century - Dr. Wily develops a series of devices that allow toys to work for him. Oddly enough, this works well. Like I said, this is an awesome cartoon. If you like the games, check it out. The lack of accuracies may derail the experience if you're a die hard fan of the games though, so you need to watch it with an open mind.
Rating: Summary: the final half of a great series Review: This dvd is the final half to the megaman series which once again boasts incredible action with catchy music and comedy. This continues the tale of Dr. Wily attempts to conquer the earth using his evil robots. However each and everytime he is thwarted by Megaman.
I already talked about the series in the first dvd release so now I am going to tell you about the one stand out episode which in my opinion is the best of the series.
The episode is called Mega X and what it's about is that Wily is attempting to steal this new energy source to power up his super cannon. After a failed attempt two reploids from the future arrive to steal some for their master Sigma. When Megaman attempts to stop the two he is easily defeated. Then through a rip in space and Time comes Megaman X who drives them away. Eventually the two Megaman's team up to stop Wily and the reploids.
What made this episode so great was that it not only was a crossover with the other megaman series but also hinted at the possability of a spinoff for Megaman X. Sadly that never happened (the X story is generally a lot darker, more grown up than Megaman) but still this is a great episode.
Overall a great buy short of any special features. Still recommended though.
Rating: Summary: Good, Though Inaccurate, Video Game-Based Cartoon Series Review: This DVD set contains all 14 episodes of the second season of "Mega Man", which originally aired in late 1995. There are no extra features. This animated series is based on the popular video game series of the same name (the original Mega Man series, not X, Legends, Battle Network, or anything else). It's an American cartoon series, not anime. Even though a lot of Japanese people worked on the series, it was written by American writers, some of which wrote episodes for "Captain N: The Game Master". This series is better than Captain N, though, mostly due to the better animation. Still, it's pretty inaccurate compared to the video games. The writing ranges from atrocious to okay. Most of the plots are cheesy. Some of them are stupid. None of the episodes are based on the plots of the actual games; rather, they occur probably between "Mega Man V" and "Mega Man VI". Also, the writers probably saw only parts of "Mega Man III" and "Mega Man V", because they made Proto Man a bad guy in this series. He works for Dr. Wily. The theme music is okay, but the lyrics are uninspired. During the closing credits in the second season, we're subjected to the bad songs from the ill-conceived "soundtrack album" for the series. The robots have emotions (they're not supposed to), sometimes disobey orders (they're not supposed to), and often make idiotic decisions that their computer brains should be incapable of making. Most of the robot designs are inaccurate. The way that the robots' weapons are used is inaccurate. Rush never runs out of energy, and Mega Man illogically rides him pretty much everywhere. Mega Man often loses his weapon energy when he gets wet, which doesn't happen in the games. A lot of the items from the games, such as teleportation capability and energy capsules, aren't in the cartoon series. Still, on the positive side, the voices are good. Garry Chalk, who voiced King Hippo on Captain N, voices Guts Man here. Michael Donovan, who voiced Eggplant Wizard on Captain N, voices Ring Man here (though he rarely appears). In an interesting twist, Ian James Corlett, who voiced Dr. Wily on Captain N, voices Mega Man here. Dr. Wily (with a German accent) and Proto Man are voiced by Scott McNeil. Dr. Light is voiced by Jim Byrnes (Joe Dawson on "Highlander: The Series"). Roll is voiced by the wonderful Kathleen Barr (later to voice Megan Fassler on "NASCAR Racers"). Even Cathy Weseluck (who would later voice Cybersix) does additional voices. Another positive aspect of this series is that they beefed up Roll's role (she's now Mega Man's sidekick, pretty much) and redesigned her to look hot and wear pants, a shirt, and boots instead of a dress and girls' shoes. No, these things are not accurate to the games, but I think they're an improvement. Roll can now kick robotic butt (albeit with appliances in her arm rather than a plasma cannon). She's cute. Rush is kind of Scooby Doo-like, but, unlike Scooby Doo, Rush is actually entertaining. Eddie (Flip Top in the games) is cute and adds to the humor. Overall, this series isn't spectacular, but it's okay and pretty amusing.
