Summary: Poetic, powerful anime
Review: One of the most incredible anime I have ever watched. It's hard to convey in words how good it is..from the perfect cliffhanger ending on each episode, to the refreshing maturity of its plot, and even to probably the best esper battle ever made on anime, Please Save my Earth is a definite must-own. There are only two regrets...that the ending episode didnt tie things up as much as it could, and that amazon.com says it's unavaliable for sale. Hopefully someone will rerelease it on dvd (hint hint Viz video)

Summary: Surreal dreamlike poetry...
Review: Please Save My Earth (PSME).

It's the story of six japanese teens and one boy who seem to share a common past; a common past-LIFE to be exact. In their past lives they were the crew of a science station based on the earths moon. They where put there to monitor the earths development and to do research. But one day a new, unknown, virus strikes the inhabitants of the moon, which results in their ultimate demise. Only to be reincarnated on earth in a different life and in our era.

As humans they start remembering their past lives and actualy find out who the others are in their earth life. As the plot slowly unfolds the trueth, as to what happened on the moon, becomes clear to them. It turns out that there was an antidote to the virus... but only for one person, but because of jelousy she didn't get it. This is the story of the man who had the misfortune of being cured... all alone for the rest of his life. As it turns out hate, love, jelousy and a lust for revenge can also reincarnate. But in a way you never would have imagined!

When first I saw PSME I was beguiled by it's, sometimes, dreamlike visuals, enchanting music and orriginal plot. Even after having seen it many times over I still can't get enough of it This DVD is a definate 'best buy' in my oppinion, all six eps. on one disc and, just like the budgy, it's *cheap* too. You can't expect anything fancy in the form of state of the art computer graphics or Dolby Digital audio encoding. But at this price and so much to enjoy on one disc, you can not go wrong with PSME.

Summary: A wonderful, cryptic tale
Review: Please save my earth is a wonderful story that reminds us to care for our earth, and helps us to understand life a bit better. It teaches many lessons and is backed by a terrific score. I recommend this to anyone who wants to be swept away by this unusual story of seven reunited, reincarnated scientists, struggling to save the earth, or at least find their way in it.

Summary: Censorship...?
Review: Please Save my Earth is one of my favourite series when it comes to the manga (series of 21 books), so I was very glad to get my hands on the DVD. Out of 6 episodes contained on this DVD, the 5 first ones are exceptionnaly good, they are true jewels. The 6th episode, however, condenses all the remaining events of the story without even getting to the end of the books. In my opinion, this is absolutely unacceptable, because the original japanese version of this animated series covers MUCH MORE of the book series, with all the mad plot twists that makes Please Save my Earth the masterpiece that it is. I seriously think that big parts of the animated episodes were cut out of the American DVD , censored, because they would have been too hard on the watcher and would have made this DVD for a -- perhaps -- more mature audience.

In short, discovering Please Save my Earth through this DVD might be a nice experience, but it defenitly isn't what the real story is about. It doesn't end like this. There is much more to Please Save my Earth than this weak censored version of the animated series.

Summary: Incredible!
Review: Please Save My Earth is one of the most wonderful anime's I have ever seen (and I have seen very many). The art is extraordinary, its funny, romantic, sad, and the story it very good. There is something in there for everyone. This, Shojou Kakumei Utena, Vampire Princess Miyu, and Fushigi Yuugi are the best animes (in my opinion) that I have seen so far.

Summary: One Of My Favorite Anime!
Review: Please Save My eath the third tapes and last one of the serie titled (Moment's Memory) is a Beautiful anime, so full a little cute details, the art in this animation is great so professional and lovely. The story is very good but it have some unanswer questions. I don't know how many time I saw it and still love it. The voice dub in english of the characters are great, they fit them perfectly. If you never saw japanese animation before try this one you would love it, it's one of the best anime ever!

Summary: PSME Will Blow You Away!
Review: PSME is definitely one of the three best anime shows I have seen (and I have seen easily over 200). It combines beautiful character design with a complex storyline that makes you have to really think. Also used is a brilliant classical music score by Yoko Kanno that matches the thoughtful mood of the show perfectly. With the DVD containing all 6 episodes of the series being released by VIZ on 6/27/00 (containing both the original Japanese voices subbed in English and the English dubbed version), there is absolutely no reason for any anime sci-fi drama fan to pass up buying this one!

Summary: A 'smart' anime series that is a must get!
Review: Reincarnation is the central theme behind the anime series 'Please Save My Earth.' Based on a popular Japanese manga series of the same title by Saki Hiwatari, 'Please Save My Earth' is a love story between sixteen-year-old Alice and her rowdy neighbor, seven-year-old Rin. The differences between their ages set the stage for the complex events that take place during the course of the story.

Alice and Rin are two of seven reincarnates of alien scientists sent from their homeworld to study the Earth in every aspect - its natural history and the history of its inhabitants.

Without revealing too much of the plot - for it will be too complicated to explain in under 1000 words, this OAV series is considered by many to be one of the greatest shoujo anime series ever. The animation is top-notch - fluid, consistent with beautiful and expressive character designs. The music soundtrack is the mastermind of Hajime Mizoguchi, with subtle synthetics and chamber strings, creates an ethereal environment that compliments the series rather instinctively. Yoko Kanno, composer genius, composed the hauntingly beautiful ending theme of the series. No other pair of composers is recognized more than Mizoguchi and Kanno.

Even with the somewhat disappointing rushed ending of the series, 'Please Save My Earth' manages to transcend any cliche that plague many anime series. This anime series belongs on everyone's DVD collection. Don't hesitate to buy this DVD!

Summary: moon dreams with no Sailor! (no spoilers in review)
Review: Storyline:
Three Junior High students realize they share recurrent "moon dreams". They have connections to alter-egos in three of seven scientists on the moon. After locating the other four moon dreamers, they decypher the dreams' true meaning. This has a profound impact on their futures and reveals/explains latent talents in the dreamers.

good parts:
*This is a philosophical work which takes you on an emotional journey. First you envy the dreamers, but then realize the dreams come at a high cost. Intense feelings of all kinds are created with a "bratty little boy" character.

* Uniquely a "pure shoujo" love story with zero fan service or other gimmicks.

* Excellent value with 6 episodes on one disc. Plus a really nice ending theme from Yoko Kano.

bad parts:
*The last half of the manga (comic book) story was chopped in order to fit this in just 6 episodes. It would have been one of the best series ever if extended to12 episodes. It ends giving you an empty feeling of incompleteness.

overall:
Even half of this excellent story is still worth buying! Not for little kids, as they wouldn't understand the concepts in such a complex plot. A big step up from typical shoujo anime.

Summary: Do not buy this DVD (or VHS) if you read the comic
Review: The anime is rather disappointing if you had read and loved the comic. It was badly done... and skipped too much story. And if you thought the ending of the comic was rushed, wait until you see this one... there was no ending at all.

The music was bad, too. I read other reviews and had high hope on music... very disappointed.

So if anyone recommand this title to you, go read the comic instead (good luck on finding a copy). Excellent comic, btw. 5 stars. Best comic I've ever read. Don't waste your money on this anime.
