Rating: Summary: 5 stars to Amazon, for bringing this one up!!!!!!!!***** Review: A great must-have for all ages!Following Mazinger-Zs storyline, here is Mazinkaiser! I saw it from a friend, who bought it here. The sound, and colors are astounding. Even the formats are different, compared to the little ones, used in 1972. The characters look sizzling, and the battle of Mazinger vs. Mazinkaiser, is great! All I can say is Amazon.com gave everyone else, a Turbo Smashing kick in the butt with this one!
Rating: Summary: i can not believe it. Review: i can not review this Dvd as i haven't got it. But reading the other review's i think it's MAZINGER Z. I saw all these robo animation in Italy back in the early 80's as a child on private tv channels and i used to love them. In Italy they were so many Mazinga z,great Mazinga,Jeeg Robo,Daitan 3 and Goldrake... plus there were also other types of animation like Judo boy and tiger man,etc etc..if there are any Italians out there or Animation lovers like me maybe you would remember them?. Well the point is for the last 2 years i have been trying to find them on tape or dvd and no joy.I just got back from Italy and i bought 2 tapes recorded from an old tv station and the quality is poor and it keeps on jumping from one scene to an other.Cut Cut and Cut.. I hope some one can produce the old classic animation on dvd but uncut.. please as i just ordered this animation and i hope it's worth it. I will up date my review as soon as i see the dvd. P.S if any one knows where i can buy these old classic animation please email me,as i can not find them.Thank you.
Rating: Summary: Mazinger is back! (Birmingham Great Britain) Review: I too was a kid living in Italy during the 1980's and I too remember watching mazinger z, Great mazinger, Goldrake (known in italy as Uforobot)daitan 3, calender men and a host of other japanese cartoons such as tigerman. These kind of cartoons never made it to British shores because of their violence and hinted kiddie porn content, but hey that didn't stop millions of italian children watching it over 20 years ago. So when I saw this on the shelf I snapped it up there and then. Even though it doesn't really follow the history of the mazinger saga (hey what happened to Goldrake?) the action is fast and furious, the animation is clean and sharp. Even so the iconography is still in that wonderfull 70's japanese kitsch that brings a nostalgic tear to you eye. I had forgotten so much about this show, and jet when those (now admittdedly preposterous) Venus missles fire off, It now brings a smile to my face. 5 stars, though it would be difficult to convince audiences in a more anglosaxon setting of their value, its very japanese and power rangers destroyed any credibilty the format of the giant robot stomping on mechas.
N.B.
If you enjoyed mazinger as a child then you will definetly enjoy DAIGUARD, which is a recent gentle satire on the Giant robot formart, where a giant robot that was used as a marketing gimmick by a defence corporation is reactivated to fight interdimentional monsters, and is piloted by the office workers of the companys public relations division , who do it all for a minimal wage.Hugely enjoyable. Also the satire means you will never view mazingers pilot in the same way again.
Rating: Summary: Rock'em, Sock'em, Super Robots Rule!!! Review: In 1975 Go Nagai brought Mazinger Z from Manga comics to Anime TV series icon fame. Thirty years later, he continues the Mazinger saga after the success of Getter Robo: Armageddon with Mazinkaiser. Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger team up against Dr. Hell's army of Mechanical Monsters and their situation is grim. Team Mazinger (Boss Borot and Venus Ace) join the action with some comical humor and the arrival of a new and more powerful Mazin robot. The artwork stays true to the original series, but the animation is better than ever. Please Mr. Nagai, bring back Grendizer.
Rating: Summary: Awesome alternate storyline from the original Review: Just like some of the reviewers here, I also grew up watching the Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger series back in Puerto Rico in the early to mid 80s. Mazin Kaiser delivers a storyline that takes a detour from the original, but keeps the same feel as the original series. Great animation, as I would expect from Go Nagai, great sound effects, and the actors do an awesome voiceover. If you're a fan of Mazinger Z (or Tranzor Z as it was called in the US), or Great Mazinger, then you'll like Mazin Kaiser. Definitely a collector's item.
Rating: Summary: Rock'em, Sock'em, Super Robots Rule!!! Review: Mazinkaiser, successor to both Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger, is a big threat to Dr. Hell's plan to conquer the world. This volume introduces the new powerful Mazin robot. The animation is excellent (more details and smooth animation as expected from an OVA) and the soundtrack enhances the mood of the battle scenes, making them more dramatic. Expect off-beat humor that usually is in most Go Nagai flicks. This DVD features both Japanese and English audio tracks (English subtitles are available).

Rating: Summary: Go Nagai at his best! Review: This was an awesome throwback to the 70's super robot anime! Great battle scenes and excellent animation. lacking a bit in character development, but who cares? this is still a great OVA made by the master of super robot anime, Go Nagai! now all we need is a new UFO Robo Grandizer OVA!
Rating: Summary: Mazinkaizer Volume 1: Turbo Smashing Sensation Review: Well the time has been long awaited, but I now own a new Mazinkaizer video. This latest installment in the Mazinger Z(or Tranzor Z known when it first appeared in America during the early 80's) does not fall short. The animation is flawless. Every single art work has received precise attention to detail. The fight seans are intense and action packed. There are points were you wonder who will win Good or Evil? The sound track has been kept with it's original music and dialog from Japan. This dvd comes with four different episodes. Parents beware you kids will enjoy the first three episodes. Unfortunitly, the fourth and last episode contains expensive adult nudity seans that might shock young children. Overall this long awaiting return to the American shores has been way over due. This will surely become another well known fanchise to all anime fans who never heard of Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, or Mazinkaiser.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Giant Shogun Warrior of them all! Review: When I saw the cover of Mazinkaiser something was vaguely familiar to me... HEY! It looks just like the "Great Mazinga" Shogun Warrior toy I used to play with as a kid! Never having seen any of the Mazinger shows (they didnt come on TV where I grew up) I had to see my old pal in action. So I bought volume 1. Great Show! The action scenes were even more fun than the Getter Robo series (Which also featured a Shogun Robot)! I enjoyed the dub cast, especially John Paul Sheppard as Dr. Hell! Can't wait for the next one to come out! If you like giant robots with arms that shoot off and lots of fast action (and humor) you should definately check out Mazinkaiser!
