Rating: Summary: Sailor Moon Super is simply the best series. Review: Avid watchers of the show will agree that Sailor Moon Super is the best series, arguabley even better in its original Japanese format. This DVD allows you to watch each episode in English, or Japanese, with the option of subtitles. The extra features include biographical accounts on each Senshi, with little pictures of them. This is the final DVD within the series, and includes 7 episodes. The series climax comes at episodes 4 and 5, with the last two as more of a series summary, and promo for Sailor Moon Super S. The final episodes in the series see the awakening of the Messiah Of Silence, and chaos begins to occur in Tokyo as a result. There are some teary scenes with Hotaru and Sailor Moon, and the final battle between the sailor senshi and Death Busters. I always find Sailor Moon finale's to be a lot darker in content than early in the series, and this one is no acception. If you scare easy, there are some scary scenes which take place within the evil walls of Maugen Academy. Its really the whole atmosphere the episodes have. You get a real sense that the Silence is coming. As a Moonie, I may be showing bias, but this DVD is excellent! All the things you love about Sailor Moon are in this finale. The show has the ability to make you laugh, cry and to hum Japanese songs in your head all day. (The DVD includes the Japanese theme tune Moonlight Densetsu and the closing theme Tuxedo Mirage). If you think you might buy it and never watch it more than once, you are probably wrong! If you aren't much of a Sailor Moon fan, again I say buy it, and I promise you will be!
Rating: Summary: Poor Sound Quality Review: Excellent series, but for some reason all 6 dvds are in dual mono. I'm not sure how that happened but it definitely hinders the experience as I've come to enjoy the music so much. The sound becomes overloaded, wavy, distorted and crackled much of the time. Worthy of 5 stars, but Pioneer, you gotta fix that audio track. The english dub is finished and over with but if they really cared about the consumer and their purchase another digital stereo print of the series in japanese could be requested from Toei as Pioneer obviously owns the right to release it. And maybe they could restore the opening sequences to their original episode format as well.
Rating: Summary: Sailor Moon S Series DVDs - Good Overall Review: For those of you who don't know, Sailor Moon is an anime series about a group of girls with the ability to transform into warriors so that they can battle the forces of evil. It sounds like something that's been done to death, but this series pulls it off nicely. Each episode of the series contains a good deal of dramatic action, with some comedy thrown in to make the series a bit more appealing. Originally it was intended for pre-teenage girls in Japan, but it has drawn in fans from many age groups and nationalities. The series began airing in America as early as 1995, but the episodes were horribly edited, and the dialogue was butchered. The poor time slot didn't help things ever, and eventually it vanished without a trace, until it was picked up by the Cartoon Network, which aired several new episodes, but these suffered the same flaws as their early North American predecessors. But at long last, Pioneer has created the solution to the problem - DVDs of the series, in all their original uncut glory. And what better place to start releasing DVDs than the S Saga, which was by far the best set of episodes? Now on to the DVD itself. You get 7 episodes, which you can view in English or Japanese (if you choose the latter, subtitles have been provided.) There are also some minor extras, such as a gallery with info on Sailor Venus. In the episodes, they even left in the eyecatcher sequences!Unfortunately, these DVDs have some flaws. First and foremost, lack of extras. These character galleries are pretty cool, but I would've liked to see something like interviews with people who worked on the series. Also, THE INTRO IS WRONG! The S Series has three intros, and this is the third one. It should be the first one (In the first intro, Sailors Neptune and Uranus are shown as shadows, so you can't identify who they are as humans. Sailor Chibi Moon does not appear in the first and second intros.) USING THE WRONG INTRO SPOILS SOME SURPRISES! In addition, the next episode previews are not here (though oddly enough, the daily episode previews are.) Overall this is an excellent DVD release for an excellent anime series. Contrary to popular belief, THIS DVD IS NOT OVERPRICED. It is slightly longer than most standard episode DVDs, so the slght price increase shouldn't be a problem. Fans of the original uncut Sailor Moon series, I strongly recommend you buy this item.
Rating: Summary: The best six episodes available in one disc Review: Frankly, among all Sailormoon series, the Super one is the one that really rocks. Despite the fact that every episode still falls into a typical TV anime model - villains came up, heros defeat them after the villains successfully attacked their targets - the S series still manage to interwine a decent and exciting plot throughout the series. The last six episode denotes the final touch down of the Death Blaster against the Sailor senshi. The last few witches are ruthless and more powerful in a way that they don't need to depend on the daimon but managed to give the Sailor senshi a very hard time. With the lost of a member and the ever increasing threat from the Silence and Destruction, the senshi needed to compete for time. The most prominent part is of course the long awaited senshi - the senshi of Creation and Destruction Sailar Saturn. Despite the last episode is a bit out of focus, the episodes in this disc are the ones all Sailormoon fans should not miss.
Rating: Summary: SMS the best series in the SM arc Review: I give this series only 4 stars, because the japanese series it's way better. Anyways, this is the best series because it has my favorite scouts, the Outer Senshi ( I'm a fan of saturn). It wasn't as edited as the first two SM series, but it was still edited, and some of the jokes and important dialogue were changed, to produce a more friendly version for parents and kids.I know that the dvd contains a jap/english subtitles version, it still doesn't compare to the japanese version. Overall, the dvd isn't bad. Buy the dvd or the vhs that have english subtitles instead of the dub.
Rating: Summary: The Awesome Climax of Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon S!!! Review: I own this DVD, and I watch it quite freqently. It was just 2 awesome, except, I'll agree with some reviewers, there wasn't many "Extra's". The DVD starts as Sailor Venus doing her star power henshin. The clip freezes when the star-ribbons engulf her, then the options: Play, Setup, Scene selection, and Extra stuff appear on the right. Menu's: I'd give it a B+, Audio: Kinda fuzzy, but A-, Video: Superb, a little dim, A-, Packaging: Cover was ok..., B+ There was only one thing that wasn't right, Extras. "The Sailor Gallary:Featuring Sailor Venus" and "DVD credits" were all Although, 1 thing makes up for this, go to "Set-Up" and put in: Language: English Subtitles: on, then you can see what was edited out! Oh yeah I almost forgot: Messiah in Japanese just means "Chosen One" it has nothing to do with Jesus. Thats why they changed it to "Soveriegn" Contains 7 UNCUT episodes, and yes there is swearing too. Namely: 1. A mystic flower which steals hearts! The third witch, Tellu. 2. Believe in love! Ami, a kind hearted soldier 3. Shadows of destruction! The Awakening of the Messiah of Silence 4. The horror of the approching shadow. Eight soldiers in a tough battle 5. A bright shooting star! Saturn and the Messiah 6. A new life! Time for seperation of the destened stars 7. Self-Awareness as a soldier! Streanth lies in the pure heart Pretty good, huh? The best episodes, to my opinion. Rated 13 up (note: It really means 14 and up, because it didn't say "13 and up", 13 up means older than 13.)
Rating: Summary: Excellent Movie Review: If you are a Sailor Moon fanitic you will love this movie. It ends sadly with Uranus and Neptune living but it is an execllent movie and hey it's NOT all cut up
Rating: Summary: The Best of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon! Review: In my opinion, this is THE best collection of episodes of sailor moon that there will ever be. The plot is great, the animation is great(in most of the episodes.) The story has it's great twists and turns, making the show unpredictable and mysterious. It shows the remaining 3 members of the Witches 5, and then it uncovers the mysteries of hotaru. it has it happy moments, its sad moments, and it's just brilliant work. This is a must see, and i highly suggest it!!
Rating: Summary: Weak Witches 5 Review: It's great how the S Season ends, but I wish that Telulu or Byruit or even Cyprine last more that on measley episode! Eugeal and Mimet get a whole dvd to themselves. Well anyways...if you wanna see how it all ends, get this. If you want to see Sailor Saturn, you barely see her, which SUCKS!
Rating: Summary: The Messah continued Review: Its very difficult to believe that this was made in 1994 cause the animation is amazing for something that was made that long ago.The DVD has no flaws except that when Neptunes talisman appeared it seems to freeze but I don't know if that happens on everyones copy or just mine. The quality of the the DVD is amazing especially one key scene with the Messiah but I shan't ruin the story for those people who haven't watched it yet.The first two episodes are okay but the next two are amazing the finale is the best of all the sm series and is definitely equal to the final ep of sailor stars. The whole S series has been leading to this and it will not dissapoint and we can finally enjoy a finale uncut unlike the first two series. The last two episodes are okay but they are mostly fillers to lead onto the super s series. One dissapointment about this was the extras a few pics of Minako and some info about her is hardly what I would call extras. But then again you do get 7 episodes on this DVD so it is definitely worth it.I recommend this to all sailormoon fans but remember to only watch the sub..
