Summary: Beautiful!
Review: This is just a wonderful movie, especially if you are a fan of the original OAV series or the manga (comic books).

The extras on the DVD are somewhat minimal, although the highlight is the inclusion of the first episode of "The Adventures of the Mini-Goddesses" or, more appropriately "The Torments of Ratty, by Urd". Anyone who has seen it before or read the manga will understand what I mean.

The animation quality is excellent, and if the story doesn't leave you in tears, or at least nearly so, I would be very surprised.

I cannot comment on the quality of the English dub work, as I generally refuse to watch Japanese animation dubbed; I have infrequently come across dub work that I consider acceptable, although that is slowly changing. Perhaps someday I'll watch this with the English dub and form an opinion then. I understand, however, that the dub crew used for this movie is not the same one used for the Animeigo OAV releases, which were very good; this may be one reason I don't want to hear the English dub as I already have a pre-conception of how it 'should' sound.

Summary: Fun, delightful and somewhat clean...
Review: The DVD is based on the manga. The three Goddesses are based on the Norns from the myths of Northern Europe (other words, we're talking the three Fates of Viking myths). The story line is filled with humor, dealing mostly with love and luck and trying your best. Some of the humor is mature in nature, but don't get me wrong, I think it is OK for kids because of the theme of caring it delivers within the humor and magic. Belldandy is a warm, loving person and a great example. Skuld has her heart in the right place also, when not throwing fits.

Urd is a hottie, but also is trying to be a good person. Not too hard, but she IS trying. Just don't ask her to stir cake mix. Trust me on that.

Review: Ah! My Goddess was the second anime I had ever seen and over through the years, where I have now seen HUNDREDS of titles, it still reigns as one of my favorites. The art is immaculate, detailed and well, I would use gorgeous but that's an understatement. AMG's story entails the life of a young student by the name of Keiichi Morisato. One day, when Keiichi is apartment-sitting for his sempai, he attempts to order fast food BUT, rather than getting his fast food he recieves a beatiful goddess, Belldandy. Life becomes even more complicated when penniless Keiichi ends up HAVING to live with Belldandy and her two (troublesome) sisters plus his own sister, Megumi! Buy this wonderful series! It's definately a lovely haven compared to all the magic girl, mecha and sword slashing anime!

Summary: Great features plus a great anime make this a definite buy!
Review: I won't go into the Aa! Megami-sama (Oh My Goddess to those of us who don't speak Japanese) story itself as numerous other sources have done a better job than I at that task... however, I would like to mention some of the neat features found on this disc.

First, there's the obligatory commentary track by three of the voice acting talents (the voices of Belldandy, Keiichi, and Skuld), which though perhaps less informative than those found in some live action films, makes a quite entertaining listening.

The audio options don't stop there, however. You can play the episodes in English, Japanese, or in "soundtrack only" mode, with the option of English subtitles. Switching to this last mode allows fans to "dub their own Oh My Goddess" according to the disc--so if you and your friends have seen this anime a few too many times, have fun giving your own rendition of the story!

The menus work well, allowing you to skip to a particular episode or a scene within an episode. The only extra I'd have liked to have seen that wasn't included would be an interview with the creator of Aa! Megami-sama.

Summary: Oh my goddess, it's so good!
Review:

Oh My Goddess! is one of the best, if shortest, anime series around. It's cute, sweet, and beautifully animates.

Keiichi is your average college freshman: poor, starving, and picked on by the upperclassmen. All that changes when he dials for takeout, and mistakenly calls the Goddess Help Hotline. They send Belldandy, the beautiful and sweet goddess, to grant him a wish. When Keiichi jokingly wishes to have her as his girlfriend, his wish is granted, and he is now officially with Belldandy. Unfortunately, Keiichi lives in a men's only dorm, and thus he gets kicked out when he's caught with his new "girlfriend." Keiichi appears to have a fit of bad luck, and it doesn't improve as the video progresses.

Oh My Goddess! is cute and sweet and beautifully animated. The dubbing is excellent, and the voices all seem totally appropriate, from the high, sweet voice of Belldandy to Otaki's stereotypical California-Blonde-Surfer-Dude-type voice. It's an excellent adaptation of the manga, and the theme songs are sweet, and beautiful, just like everything else from the series.

Summary: Most Charming Anime Ever
Review: I have seen tons of anime, not including DBZ, DBZ is practically on the verge of being American animation... I'm starting to get off topic. Anyway, I've been in an anime club for four years and watched hundreds of animes in my life time. I would have to say that "Oh My Goddess" is the most charming anime I have ever seen. Even though they only have two dvd's, I would extremely recommend them to you. If I could have any girl in the entire anime world, it would have to be Belldandy. Unfortunately, that ain't happening. If you like the anime, I also strongly recommend that you buy the manga books, they really kick @$$. I just hope that Dark Horse Comics will publish all of them, I don't want an incomplete collection.

Buy Oh My Goddess!!!! If you call yourself an anime fan, even if you only watch DBZ..., you must get this! This is well worth the money!!!!

Summary: Disc is ok, but it could have been a little better.
Review: Keiichi Morisato's life has gotten better and better, since one day he accidentally dialed a wrong number and ended up having a Goddess named Belldandy by his side. Belldandy is the catalyst for a number of things in Keiichi's life happening, most of them when Belldandy's older (and sexy) sister Urd shows up, as well as Skuld, Bell's youngest (and quite a brat) sister.

The disc contains the first 3 episodes of the series, with the first chronicling Belldandy's appearance, and her and Keiichi finding a new residence after he is kicked out of the Mens-only dorm he lived in. The second episode features Urd's first appearance, with the older sister urging Keiichi to take Belldandy to the beach and "make a move or two." The third episode features Skuld, Belldandy's youngest sister who is quite angry at Keiichi for "stealing"(that's what she thinks) her sister from her.

The disc has some wonderful layouts, and had plenty of good traits that I didn't expect from Animeigo. There are a number of caption/dialogue features, including one that has the voice actors speak about their experiences. While sometimes fun, it doesn't hold a candle to comentary that could have been directed toward the director and creator of the series.

Summary: Oh My Goddess! DVD
Review: This is a very good buy for all OMG fans. It contains the first three episodes of the OAV series, so that you know who each of the three goddess sisters are. A slide show with a few good pictures from the series (many of which are on my home page) is included. There are a few different ways to watch the three episodes: English with/with out English subtitles, Japanese with/with out English subtitles, Silent Movie style (music and sound effects, but no voices, English subtitles), Dub Your Own (Music and sound effects, no voices or subtitles), Commentary style (English with the voice actors talking about what is going on and their opinions as well as a few humorous one liners). I do not think I can stress how good of a product this is.

Summary: Find me a girlfriend like Belldandy
Review: You can read what others have say about about the plot and stuff, but this Anime is a MUST!! One of the best I've ever seen. It is worth the bucks!

I still watch this every once in awhile... when I'm tried of seeing other anime that lacks in blood, sex, volience, etc... Romance are really hard to come by so this one is for keep.

FYI

I love the soundtrack! I usually don't soundtrack unless it is really, really good. This one really relaxes me and bring a smile on my face.

Summary: Beautiful anime...
Review: A fabulous anime series, the only drawback is that each tape is too short, and the series is also a little overly short. The character Keichi is adorable in the sense that you can't halp but feel bad for him, because he's so pathetic, but just so darn nice. Belldandy is also one of those characters you just can't dislike, since she's so genuine and friendly.

I like this series, it's cute, funny, and loveable.
