Summary: Romance at its Best
Review: Oh My Goddess is one of the best Anime titles of all time. The story is basically about college freshman Keiichi Morisato and how thanks to a hungry stomach and a little luck managed to get as a girlfriend the divine Belldandy. One of the reasons that makes OMG so great are the characters. All the characters in OMG have unique personalities and charm. It's easy to see why the manga was and still is so popular. But the major focus of the story in OMG is the romance and growing love between Keiichi and Belldandy. The sweet way that their love grows will melt your heart and make you wish you had a Goddess as a girlfriend. Keiichi, though kind of a nerd and geek, is truly a nice guy and is the perfect kind of main character the story needs. Belldandy herself is without a doubt THE most beautiful animated character I have ever seen. Everything about her, from her looks to her character are truly divine. Belldandy's sisters Urd and Skuld also add a load of dept to the story. Urd's sexy demeanor and Skuld's childish innocence bring up the quality and rating of the show to...breathtaking. The animation is top-notch and easy on the eyes. Also, thanks to Pioneer, the Oh My Goddess movie is finally being released here in the states and is a must buy for fans. I just hope they keep the same voice actors for the Movie as in the OVA. Oh My Goddess is indeed THE supreme romantic anime to date. I highly recommend this title to an anime lover or a romantic. Just curl up with your loved one and watch it, you'll definatly get results:) A Must Buy.

Summary: Dial Out For Love!
Review: What can I say about one of the best animes in existence? Pity there are only 5 eps (plus the movie, of course) and the manga has several volumes... Oh, well. The plot is stellar, and Belldandy may be one of the best anime babes ever, but I digress...

Keiichi Morisato is an average guy, almost... His one problem (other than his dorm roommates, that is) is he thinks he's too short to get a girl. One day, dorm-sitting, he orders up take-out and mis-dials The Goddess Helpline, where an honest-to-God Goddess appears before him (and a damn cute one, too!) and asks for his hearts desire, one wish to be granted. Thinking that this is a joke, Kei wishes for Belldandy to be his girlfriend, and that starts the whole comic ball rolling. Before he knows it, Kei is thrown out of his dorm (no girls allowed) and finds himself living in a temple with not one, but three goddesses, each with their own personality, and all trouble! Watch to see more!

Summary: A feel-good show!
Review: This is the type of show you watch to feel good about yourself and everything around you. There aren't any monsters or world-ending crises to deal with--the worst Keiichi and Belldandy have to deal with are finding a house and a minor misunderstanding with a love potion. Other than that, they basically bask in each other's love.

Oh, and let me clarify something. I own all of the books currently in English, both dvds, and the movie. Despite what you may think, this is not like Tenchi Muyo or Love Hina. Belldandy is the only one with the hots for Keiichi. Urd treats ALL MALES like that, with the teasing and (for some) the kissing. That is just the way Urd's mind works. So her little scene with Keiichi meant nothing. And Skuld hates Keiichi, with all her heart, at least at this point.

Summary: Definitely worth a look...funny and endearing
Review: After viewing the theatrical version, I started a search for any Ah! My Goddess anime. When I located the two DVDs with the 5 OVA episodes, I had to get them, and the purchase was worth it!
The animation isn't the same quality as the movie, but the story is wonderful. The meeting of Keiichi and Belldandy is great, especially after his "senpai" return home. From the beginning, you can see the strength of the bond between the central characters.
We are introduced to Urd in the second episode, and she displays her idea of romance. Her meddling results in trouble for the "happy" couple and lands her on earth semi-permanently.
The third episode bring Skuld into the picture, as she attempts to bring Belldandy to her senses. Afterall, a goddes shouldn't be MADE to wait on a mere human boy!
If you haven't seen this series yet, definitely get it. The story is adorable and fun. It's short and sweet.

Summary: Not To Be Missed
Review: "Oh My Goddess" (or "Ah! My Goddess") is a sweet, 5-part, romantic-comedy anime series based off of the manga of the same title. It technically falls into the "harem" genre (loser guy surrounded by hot babes), but it doesn't follow the standard formula. In this DVD, we have the first three episodes. These three episodes set the table to introduce us to the main characters and major supporting characters.

The story is pushed very fast -- too fast in my opinion. So the main characters of Keiichi and Belldandy suffer from a lack of development. Supporting characters of Skuld and Urd have more development with less screen time. However, the sweetness and wholesomeness of the romance between Keiichi and Belldandy covers a lot of ground.

The DVD is done by AnimEigo and they did an outstanding job. The Enlish dub is very well done. Liberties are taken with the English version of the script, but I actually found that this was not offensive to me. And things like the title "sempai" are actually used in the English version! The English subtitles are nearly dead-on in being a literal translation of the original Japanese. This is very appreciated, especially to one learning Japanese!

Another welcome extra on the DVD is the English cast and director having audio commentary. They do give out some interesting information about certain things (like why they didn't do a literal English dub translation in spots). They crack a lot of jokes which are quite funny as they watch the episodes.

Bottom line: Anime fans of "Love Hina" or "Hand Maid May" should get this DVD! Purist will appreciate the job done on the English subtitles.

Summary: a great show
Review: Plot of the show: Keiichi, a geeky college student, tries to order pizza but ends up ordering the goddess Belldandy. She tells him she'll grant him one wish, but he doesn't believe she's real so he wishes to have a girlfriend like her. Since there is nobody else like her, she stays with him and becomes his girlfriend, and that's when the trouble starts. Urd and Skuld, Belldandy's sisters, show up later on (in following tapes) bringing more trouble for poor Keiichi.

My thoughts: For me, Urd makes the show, it just wouldn't be the same without her... but she doesn't show up until tape 2 I believe. I also like Keiichi, there's something endearingly sweet about him. The manga is better really, and is highly recommended in addition to this OVA. The opening song could be better, and I would have liked to see a longer OVA series. Five episodes just isn't enough. All in all though, a great anime.

Summary: A wonderful anime
Review: I've seen a lot of great anime, but this one will always be my favorite. The story has all the aspects of a really good romantic comedy: it can make you laugh and I think that it is the only anime thus far that has made me cry. This tied in with the wonderfully developed characters, amazing seiyuu, and great animation makes this anime all the more endearing. It's a must see for anyone who truly loves the genre.

The one thing wrong with the DVD realse of this anime is the fact that it is two volumes. All five OVAs would easily have fit onto one DVD, and ($) for two and a half hours of anime and mediocre extras seems a trifle expensive. But because the anime is so good, I would say it is definitely worth it (and it costs far less than the 5-volume VHS version).

Summary: The Best Shojo Anime ever!
Review: At first I had my doubts about this anime, but once I saw it, I LOVED IT! This anime is a wonderful mixture of humor, romance, fantasy, and much much more! It's a wonderful, heart-touching story.

It starts out with a boy, Keiichi Morisato, who is trying to order take-out. He accidentally reaches the Goddess Hotline and the goddess Belldandy appears from the mirror to grant his wish. Keiichi thinks it's all a joke from his Sempai's. But even so, he tells Belldandy "I want you... to be my girlfriend FOREVER!" He still assumes it's a joke, until Belldandy shows him the Ultimate Force. Then Keiichi remembers a rule in the dorm... NO WOMEN ALLOWED! Things just go haywire from there, including some of Belldandy's sisters...

This is an amazing shojo anime, with a heart-warming story, that is impossible to stop watching! Not to mention, the music is nice also. ^^
