I remember watching Sailor Moon dubbed as a wee smeet and liking it, but don't fall for the evil tricks! Okay, I'll calm down. Just don't buy it.
Rating: Summary: I love this version Review: Very cute and entertaining. Too bad it''s no longer on TV. Oh well this DVD brings you Sailor Moon in her earliest endeavors. Great Show. Give it a try.
Rating: Summary: Memories Review: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon brings back so many memories. When I was very young and Sailor Moon first came out, I found it by fate by flipping the channels. Back then no one else watched it and it was on at 6:00 in the morning. Many years later I reunited with it and then I ordered the Japanese episodes fansubbed. The Japanese episodes were amazing. Back then their was no official distributer, so I ordered from a fansubbed distributer. The Japanese version was so different form the American version. It was completely different. I love both versions though. The English version brings back memories from my childhood while the Japanese version is uncut. It's fun comparing the episodes and seeing how much was changed. This version, however, is the watered-down version. It cuts out many scenes and makes a lot of changes. While it has changed a lot from the original Japanese version, it's great for a trip down memory lane, and brings back my childhood memories. Tuxedo Kamen is so wonderful and charming. He was my hero when I was a young girl, and he's still me hero now. He will always be the most charming anime man. I love Tuxedo Kamen/Mask. He is so wonderful, and hot. Anyway, this is recommended by me, but I suggest you buy the Japanese version as well.
Rating: Summary: Aww finally you get to see the orignal Thank you! Review: Don't buy this its all chopped up. DIC took alot of the parts out. In this DVD you don't get the orignal music, endings, and beggings. If you buy season one UNCUT on DVD you get to see everything that was taken out. The voices in the american version are alright but not very good. Go to ebay you can get episodes 1-200.
Rating: Summary: Only average, but a must for new fans! Review: Let me start off by saying this- Sailor Moon is great. But this particular DVD is only average. Why? Well, first of all, it is the TV version- not a good thing for most people. The voice acting literally makes me cringe. It's the best you can get, however- there is no subtitled version out currently. Also, the animation is merely average- chunky drawings, solid colors, not as fluid, etc. Yes, the storyline of SuperS (not Supers!!) isn't that good, but the animation is beautiful compared to this. However, the thing that saved it from 2 or 3 stars was the story. This is definitely the must get DVD if you are not familiar with the story of Sailor Moon. But again, if you know the story already, invest your money in Sailor Moon S (personally my fave season) or SuperS (for the gorgeous animation). (By the way, I may be only 12, but I know my anime and manga. I have been a SM fan even before its US release.)
Rating: Summary: No Japanese, No Subtitles, Bad Edition Review: Well, only but only if you like the Dic dubbing, buy it, but really this [stinks] because you expect the Japanese track, and the English subtitles and this doesn't have it, and the worst thing is the stupid edition that this company used to ruin this great Anime, so if you are a really fan of Sailor Moon I think that this DVD is not going to like you.
Rating: Summary: No uncut version. Yuck. Review: [I LOVE Sailor Moon. That's the reason I have to be so critical in this review...]For those of you who don't know, Sailor Moon is an anime series about a group of girls with the ability to transform into warriors so that they can battle the forces of evil. It sounds like something that's been done to death, but this series pulls it off nicely. Each episode of the series contains a good deal of dramatic action, with some comedy thrown in to make the series a bit more appealing. Originally it was intended for pre-teenage girls in Japan, but it has drawn in fans from many age groups and nationalities. The series began airing in America as early as 1995, but the episodes were horribly edited, and the dialogue was butchered. The poor time slot didn't help things ever, and eventually it vanished without a trace, until it was picked up by the Cartoon Network, which aired several new episodes, but these suffered the same flaws as their early North American predecessors. This DVD is of the series as it appeared on Cartoon Network, and that is NOT a good thing. The main reason I buy anime DVDs is for an uncut Japanese subtitled version, AND THIS DVD DOESN'T HAVE ONE! That pretty much ruins the DVD. IT IS AN UNWRITTEN RULE THAT ANIME DVDS HAVE AN UNCUT JAPANESE SUBTITILED TRACK. The only thing that saves this from a single star is that it's part of the Sailor Moon series. If you want the uncut version of these episodes, you're not gonna find it here.
Rating: Summary: dubbing that does not belong in public Review: ok 1, Sailor Says: stupid. This is the most childish thing I have ever seen. " Sailor Moon Teaches!!...the little segments after each episode called "Sailor Says"... I don't want to see sap...like this. Kids don't need 'Sailor Says' to believe in themselves. Not every show is meant to have a...lesson. 2. This is the episode list, however this is not on the dvd 1. Graceful Change Of Crybaby Usagi 2. I'll Punish You! The Fortune House Is A Monster's Mansion (skipped) 3. Mystery Of Sleeping Sickness, Defend The Loving Heart Of Maidens. 4. Usagi Will Teach You! The Way To Get Slim 5. The Demonic Scent! Schanerla Steals Love (skipped) 6. Protect The Song Of Love! Usagi Is Cupid (skipped) 3. There's no Japanese track. And their probably never will be so don't buy this. If fans start to complain, maybe there will be. 4. go buy fansubs....they're more accurate than the dub. Sometimes I wonder if the dubbers had ever seen the original Sailor Moon? or any anime. Usagi's dub voice sounds disgusting. and Luna sounds like an old lady. If you're parents looking for a good dub, get Magic Knight Rayearth. It is uncut, and still good enough for kids, with enough fun for adults. The dub is very close to the original and the dubbers have talent. Sometimes it seems like the dubbers of Sailor Moon were pulled off the streets........well they probably were. [avoid] this product ... Setsuna Kanashii...
Rating: Summary: Sailor Moon Review: It was very good, apart from the fairly good dubbing and Serena's constant giving up and crying. I would recomend this to Sailor Moon fans, especially because it is the first volume.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: A week before my younger sister had her sixth birthday, I bought this for her birthday present. I knew nothing about 'Sailor Moon' whatsoever, and neither did my sister. But I bought it as it seemed like a good, funny and entertaining video. My sister loved it! For those of you who have never heard of this program before, it is about a young girl named Serena who meets a black cat. The cat gives her a magical broach so Serena can transform into the heroine, Sailor Moon! In fact, my sister found this video even more interesting than the 'Barbie in the Nutcracker' video that she also recieved, and she had been wanting that for ages! She is always rewinding the video to the transformation scenes, as she likes those. She asked for more 'Sailor Moon' merchandise for Christmas. I bought her the second 'Sailor Moon' video, and my parents bought her the 3rd and 4th. We are currently searching the stores for any 'Sailor Moon' dolls or wands!
