Summary: Sailor Moon
Review: Well of course these are the 4 very first episodes of Sailor Moon. But on the cover they should have changed some things.First of all Sailor Moon's eyes are way to shiny, and the lettering for "A Heroine is Chosen" shouldn't have been that font because it makes the cover look girlish. But any ways the first epsode is about a girl named Sirena a twisted girl who is 14 gets bad grades, never studies, and spends most of her time at the arcade and the mall who becomes Sailor Moon. She meets a cat named Luna who gives her a brooch to transform into Sailor Moon.Sirena doesn't like this at first but when it comes to Molly's mom at a Jewelery store Sirena battles a monster.Sirena thinks she's not good enough but with the help of Moon Tira Magic ahe beats the monster. This episode is called"A Moon Star is Born".Also in this episode we find out about the energy stealing plan and Queen Beryl. We have 3 more episodes which are:

Talk Radio:Now a radio love station gives free pins out to steal energy.Luna gives Sirena the Luns Diguise pen in which Sirena can be anyone in times of need and once again Sailor Moon Foils the Negaverse's plans.

Slim City:Sirena gains half-a pound and goes crazy and decides to go on a diet.A fitness center uses a relax pod to gather energy.Sailor Moon to the rescue and wins the battle for energy.

So You Want To Be A Superstar:A fitness model is taken over by the Negaverse in which a monster takes her form and leaves her in the bathroom.A contest is set to dirine energy out of a disco ball but Sailor Moon gets rid of that mess.

Sailor Moon is a good/funny series that you'll enjoy plus you have that little lesson at the end of episodes.I just wonder does Sirena learn anything from those lessons??

Summary: A Pretty Bad Dub
Review: These DVDs contain DiC's dub of the first and second "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon" series from Japan, Classic and R. They are in English only; there are no original Japanese episodes. The episode previews and the Sailor Says segments are included, but the commercial bumpers aren't. There are no bonus features except for previews of other ADV titles. The DVDs and the episodes aren't numbered, so you'll have to check either an online episode guide or Amazon to figure out which volume to watch first. 6 of the episodes were skipped, and 2 of the episodes were chopped up and merged into 1. In fact, all of the episodes have been chopped up. DiC felt the need to remove or alter shots of Japanese writing (but not all of them), add in extra bits of animation, and use weird scene transition effects. The translations are pretty inaccurate for the most part, and some of the casting (such as Luna and Molly's voices) are totally wrong. The dialogue is also dumbed down to make the series (which was originally intended for junior high and high school girls) suitable for children. Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars each have 2 voice actors. Tuxedo Mask has 3. Rini's voice is really annoying. The dub was my first exposure to Sailor Moon, though (well, technically, "Lunarock" was), and it's an okay series as long as you don't compare it to the original Japanese series. If you've never seen Sailor Moon before, get the "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon" boxed sets.

Summary: I really Love the DIC version!!! Nadia
Review: I have to say that I started watching the DIC version of Sailor Moon and there is something endearing about it's version as opposed to the ADV. I have the Hearts collection ( DVD) the Pegagus(DVD) and the three movies'....but when I watched them I didn't like the tone of them or the lack of music as the DIc version has! I know alot is left out of the DIC version but when I watch the ADV it seems like the characters are dull and lifeless? It seems like ADV is missing something...I didn't enjoy them at all.

Summary: The First Movie!!!!
Review: I really wanted this as a video, and for Christmas we got a DVD player, so I bought the DVD! I've never actually seen it as a video, so this is kind of hard to find. Here are the stories o it:
A Moon Star Is Born: One day, a talking cat named Luna comes and tells Serena Tsukino that she's Sailor Moon. Then, she has to save Molly from a monster.
Talk Radio: Serena likes a new show on the radio, but when Molly and Ms. Haruna get prizes from it they fall asleep!
Slim City: Serena thinks she's fat, so her and some other girls go to an exercise place but the bad people try to take their energy.
So You Want to Be a Superstar: There is a contest, and all of Serena's friends start acting weird, and at the show they all fall asleep because of a monster.
Computer School Blues: Serena thinks the new girl, Amy, is a bad person, but then she turns into Sailor Mercury!
Time Bomb: Serena and her parents get new clocks but they make everyone act strange and the Sailor Scouts get stuck in a weird place.
This is my favorite Sailor Moon video/DVD because it tells how she first turned into Sailor Moon!

Summary: Sailor Moon: The Legend Begins
Review: This is the first 4 episodes of the 1st season of Sailor Moon. The story line is cleaver, and explains where Sailor Moon got her powers. The episodes are as follows:

1. "A Moon Star is Born" in wich Serena meets a talking cat named Luna who gives her a broach with the power to transform her into Sailor Moon. Queen Beryl plans to take over the earth by sending deamons to steal energy. Sailor Moon defeats the deamon with the help of the mysterious Tuxedo Mask.

2. "Talk Radio" in wich a love radio program is sending out pins that steal energy. Luna gives Serena a discuise pen that turns her into whatever she wants. She is able to defeat the demon.

3. "Slim City" in wich Serena tries to diet down, but the gym is run by a demon and she has to stop it.

4. "So You Want to Be A Superstar" in wich Serena tries to becom an actress and has to defeat a demon.

If you don't like the dub's, don't buy it. But otherwise, you'll love it. Buy it today!

Summary: Sailor Moon: A Heroine is Chosen (Vol. 1, dubbed DVD)
Review: I own this DVD personally, and I must say, if you are a Sailor Moon addict like I am, you'll love it. It has the original first six episodes (season 1, dubbed), and is a must-have for any Sailor Moon fan wishing to start their Sailor Moon DVD collection. In episode 5, Sailor Mercury, or Mizuno Ami (Amy Anderson if you must, but I'm so used to the Japanese names) appears. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Summary: Could be much better...
Review: This DVD is good for little kids. The storyline is much easier to follow than if it was taken straight from the Japanese version (and a little more appropriate), but you sacrifice a lot of the good storylines. If you want the real story, go for the boxed set of season 1 and 2 DVDs, in Japanese with subtitles, or try the "Heart Collection" and "Pegasus Collection" DVDs. although they are seasons 3 and 4, they have the option of watching it, uncut, in the original Japanese with subtitles, or in English. I really wish these DVDs had been done like that, but i guess we'll have to wait and see.

Summary: Watch out
Review: Hmmm, how should I start this review...well, one way is that I'd like to say that I highly don't reccomend this series to anyone. Don't get me wrong, Sailor Moon is a fabulous story about 5 teenage schoolgirls who are Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, and Minako Aino... that is if this was the original version. However, they are renamed into: Serena, Amy, Raye (Short for Rachael), Lita, and Mina. Besides that Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon has a plot of 5 Sailor Warriors who weild witchcraft that is used to destroy the Dark Kingdom's demons that try to gather energy (Episodes 1-24), Steal the 7 Nijizishou (Episodes 25-34) and find Princess Serenity and obtain the Ginzishou (Episodes 36-43). During this series, Usagi Tsukino finds out she's a reincarnation of Princess Serenity, the daughter of Queen Serenity and inherit's the Moon Stick (Crescent Moon Wand in DiC and ADV versions) that performs exorsists that free demons from innocent humans. However, all this is changed in this tape. There is no "Witchcraft", it's simply "Super-powers". The demons are called monsters, violent scenes are toned down alot, some episodes having over 5 minutes cut out. There is no swearing, or sexuallity in any sort. It is over 58.6% non-related to its original form. The story is ompletly changed, and the scripts are totally re-written. Overall, I'd perfer "Sailor Moon - Season One - Complete and Uncut" which is the whole first season uncut, and free from "DiC", except for the dub terms used. However for young children, I suggest the edited version, the uncut version may be too "adult" for them.
Rated: TV-Y7 for mild fantasy violence
My Rating: 5+

Summary: Sailor Moon
Review: I first started watching Sailor Moon in Kindergarden and I still like it (I'm 13). I know some people only like the Japanese version and I have to admit the Japanese version is better.. But never the less I like both versions! In this DVD Serena(Usagi) finds out she is Sailor Moon and about the talking black cat, Luna. It has tons of laughs and I guess the fightings scences are OK. (The Japanese fighting scenes are much better!!) I truly recommend you buy this version or the Japanese version!!!!
