Summary: This DVD was brilliant beyond my wildest dreams!
Review: I had started out watching Sailor Moon on Cartoon Network because sadly, I don't have access to the real version. When I saw uncut in the title, I was ecstatic! I would finally get to experience "Bishouji Senshi, Sailor Moon" and not Sailor Scouts. It turned out great! The DVD had both versions so it was easy to compare and the reversible cover suitted my flippant personality as well. This DVD has all my favorite episodes. There's a lot about Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus, two of my fave characters. The anime was so much funnier and entertaining than the dubbed version. This is the most practical DVD ever.I always take it with me when I babysit so when the kids are up, we can watch the dubbed and when they go to bed, I watch subbed. I am fully hooked onto this subbed version now and I expect to buy this whole series. Please trust me and buy this DVD or at least check out a friend's copy. You won't be disappointed!

Summary: Sailor Moon Super lives up to its title.
Review: Hino Rei has been seeing strange visions: apocalyptic visions. Then, later that day and totally out of the blue, something attacks her. Something VERY, VERY evil. The first episode of the Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon series S begins with a bang, and the rest of the season follows suit. This episode begins a fast-paced ride through mystery and revelation, despair and hope, madness and love. This is one of the darkest seasons of Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, but it will appeal to virtually anyone, male, female, young and old alike (unless you're 117 years old and senile beyond hope). Get this DVD, and then go get all the rest of the DVDs in this series. They are well worth the money, for what they lack in special features (The first disc only has a character bio and a line art gallery, if you really want to call that a lack) they more than make up for in sheer amount of high-quality content. The first disc alone has a little over 2 hours and 40 minutes of total program run time!

One thing that I should address at this point is that the 5-star rating is for the original Japanese version of the show ONLY. Avoid the English version like a diseased radiation-contaminated leech, as I literally got nauseated (I actually felt my stomach churning) from listening to the god-awful English voice acting. Avoid it like the plague and all will be well, unless you like to experience aural pain.

However, since the English version is not the true, original version, it can be marked down as negligible in the overall rating. The Japanese version is great: great voice acting, hilarious and oftentimes touching illustrations, and a totally sweet plot. Get this disc now! Don't think! Just buy it! And get all the other discs in this series as well, or Usagi will punish you in the name of the Moon!

Summary: Very Enjoyable Series But With Some Problems
Review: This is the third Sailor Moon series. It's about teenaged girls with magical powers who fight evil forces that threaten the world. In the S series, they fight humans who have been possessed by demons and forced to steal people's pure hearts in order to bring their master, Pharoah 90, into our universe. The Outer Senshi were introduced in this series: Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, and Pluto (though she had appeared in a few episodes of the R series). They're awesome. The original Japanese version is the best (more mature), but the English dub is also provided. Apparently, Cloverway had dubbed all of the dialogue, so you'll be able to hear English lines on here that you hadn't heard on Cartoon Network. Still, the English dub is censored and dumbed down. It's also incredibly inconsistent. Attack names (and even some transformation phrases) constantly change. Names of important objects in the series change also. Amara (Haruka) and Michelle (Michiru) are turned into "cousins", and that "fact" is constantly shoved down our throats. Still, listening to the English audio track while watching the uncensored video will provide some (unintended) laughs. I recommend watching an episode in Japanese with English subtitles first and then watching it in English. It's like getting two different series - 12-14 episodes per disc instead of 6-7. I do have some complaints. First, they used only the final version of the opening theme for all of the episodes. In the original, the new characters were added to the theme over the course of the series as they were introduced. On these DVDs, characters that haven't appeared in episodes yet are in the opening theme. That is not the way it originally aired, and it ruins the surprises. Also, on my computer monitor, there's a fuzzy line at the top of the screen during the opening theme in every episode. That means that the theme was spliced in. Were they too lazy to put the English credits over each version of the opening theme? Why did they have to put English credits there at all, anyway? They could have put them in the closing credits. I don't like the new English voice actors for Moon, Mercury, and Venus, but at least the original Mars is back! I also like Rini's new voice actor. I still think that Rini's an annoying character, though. The next episode previews were not included. The only extras are profiles on some of the Senshi/Scouts and some of the earlier opening themes from the S series. The DVD covers are reversible, so you can pick your favorite characters to be displayed. All in all, these 38 (or 76) episodes form a great story and are worth buying.

Summary: Sailor Moon Super: Heart Collection I
Review: Since Cartoon Network stopped airing Sailor Moon on May 3rd, this is the only current way to watch Sailor Moon S until they decide to bring it back! Also, if these DVD's sell well, Sailor Stars, the last current season of Sailor Moon, could come to America. But only if these sell well, because the Japanese company that owns the rights are selling it at a cost too high for it not to sell in America.

This DVD contains the 1st 7 episodes of Sailor Moon S. They each keep their original name and are uncut! It also contains extra bonus features. They are: a double sided reversible cover, English and Japanese language tracks, subtitles in english taken directly from the Japanese script, the opening credits without text, and a biography on Sailor Moon/Usagi/Serena. (In Japan, Serenas name is Usagi.) The episodes are as follows:

1. "Premonition of World's End? Mysterious New Warriors!" ("Star Struck, Bad Luck" in the American Series) in wich Rei has a vision of the world becomeing silenced. We are introduced to Professor (Doctor) Tomoe and his assistant, Kaorinite and learn that they are after 3 special heart crystals that will destroy Earth. They send a Diamohn (a demon) to steal Rei's (Ray's) pure heart crystal. When the scouts can't defeat it and all hope seems lost, two mysterious girls dressed as sailor soldiers appear and defeat the diamohn. But are they friend or foe?

2. "The Rod of Love is Born! Usagi's New Transformation" ("Crystal Clear Again" in America) in wich Momoru (Darien) takes Usagi to an abandoned house where stray kittens live. They meet a young girl whos trying to find homes for the kittens. When the little girls puzzle turns into a diamohn, the senshi (scouts/soldiers) come to the rescue. But they can't defeat it. The new outer senshi, Sailor Uranus and Neptune, appears , they appear to be searching for pure heart crystals like Professor Tomoe. Sailor Moon gets a new power from her love for Momoru. She is now able to defeat the diamohn.

3. "A Beautiful Boy? The Secret of Haruka Tenoh" ("Driving Dangerousley" in America) in wich Usagi and Minako (Mina) meet a boy at the arcade. They stalk him all day when they become suspicious that he might have a girlfriend. But when a diamohn comes after his mechanic friend, the senshi is forced into action. Uranus and Neptune come, but the heart crystal is not the one they were looking for and are able to give it back. Usagi and Minako learn that the boy is a girl named Haruka (Amara).

4. "Usagis Idol! The Graceful Genious Micharu" ("Bad Harmony" in America) in wich Usagi feels that Momoru will fall out of love with her if she dosen't mature to his colledge level soon. She meets Haruka's friend, Micharu (Michell) who can play the violin. She gives Usagi tickets to a violin concert so she takes Momoru. The violin turns into a daimohn and is after the players pure heart. They defeat it and Uranus and Neptune are able to give it back!

5. "Protect the Pure Heart! A Three Way Battle" ("Sweapt Off Her Feat" in America) in wich Usagi's friend dreams of her first kiss. When her vacum cleaner turns into a diamohn and the heart crystal gets carried away by a garbage truck, a race happens between the senshi, the outer senshi, and the diamohn. When the diamohn is defeated, Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon have to battle Sailor Uranus and Neptune for the crystil.

6. "Leave it to the Moon for Love Aid" (Blinded By Love's Light" in America) Usagi tries to help her friends, Naru (Molly) and Umino (Melvin), keep their love together by entering them in a dateing game. When they win, their prize turns into a diamohn after Umino's heart. After the diamohn is defeated, will Uranus and Neptune be able to give Umino his heart back?

7. Cold Hearted Uranus? Mikato in Trouble" ("Lita Borrows Trouble" in America) in wich Mikato (Lita) becomes fascinated with Haruka (in the subtitles, Haruka is lesbian, but not in the dubb). When Mikato goes for a car ride with Haruka and Michiru, a diamohn comes to steal her heart crystal. The Senshi comes to her aid, but what if Uranus and Neptune have found one of the hearts they need? What will be the fate of Mikato?

Buy this DVD today! It's great! And it will help bring Sailor Stars to America! The dub is ok for children 3 and up, but the subtitles are for 13 and up because of language and sexuality!

Summary: A strong warning to parents
Review: I'm one of the lucky few who has seen the Japanese anime of SailorMoon S prior to release, and I have to say I love it ^_^. However,I'm over 18 and I don't have children. I make this point because theJapanese version of SM contains themes which Cartoon Network (etc.)were careful to avoid in the dubbed translation. Again we see theSailor Senshi share battles & friendship, learn morals, besidesprep hard for High School entrance exams. HOWEVER, SM-S also bringsin the addition of Uranus and Neptune who in the U.S. series arecousins, but in the Japanese series are lovers. Lesbian themes playout time and again during the first half of the S series, and alsoattractions are hinted at between the two new scouts and some of thefirst five. Very young kids probably won't get what's going on, sinceno one ever uses the terms "homosexual" or"lesbian," however any child over 9 (younger if they'rebright or world wise) probably will get it. On the flip side, ifyou're one of the parents who's wanted a teaching tool to help explainabout homosexuality, or looking for role models along those lines, this really is the video for you (well, until SM-Sailor Stars comesout, anyway -_^).

Of course, if these themes don't botheryou, it is one of the best series of the Sailor Moon story. Theanimations is much improved from the first series and SM-R, theJapanese plot is hangs together much more solid than the English, scripts are wonderful, and you will be totally drawn into the newfantasy & enchanted by the final four senshi for our solar system^_^.

Summary: The Best Series Ever
Review: If your like me, you first saw Sailor Moon when you were about 10 years old and fell in love with it, and now that you're older, no matter how childish it may seem at some parts, you still absolutely love the series. If you are a diehard sailor moon fan and have seen every episode of the series on cartoon network you HAVE to get the DVD and the uncut versions because it's way too edited on CN. And you also need to watch it in japanese with subtitles because in some parts it's different from what the english characters say even when they're uncut. but it's definetely a necessary thing if you're a die-hard. These episodes aren't the best of the series, but it's the beginning so you have to see them.

Summary: My issues on Neptune and Uranus
Review: Ok, to tell u the truth, i didn't actually get this DVD, but I did get the video of (i think) volume 2 (it's teh one where teh Senshi first meet Amara and Michelle, or Haruka and Michiru, for those of you who like to stick to the Japanese names). Anyway, i know that a lot of people get upset over teh fact that Uranus and Neptune were changed from lesbian lovers to cousins. I, however, think that it was a pretty good idea. granted, teh idea of "cousins" was kinda lame (they could maybe do best friends or something!), but for those of you who think that the dub-people should have stuck with homosexuality, you should be ashamed! don't you realize that there are American girls 4 and up watching this show, and they do not need to be intoduced to such issues! what else were they supposed to do? if you don't like the cousins idea, get the subtitled version and lay off the English version!
