Summary: The visual quality is superb, but what about the story?
Review: This collectors edition has all 12 episodes of the Sakura Diaries anime series on 2 DVDs. You'll save a bundle by buying this edition instead of the 4 separate 3-episode DVDs.

Visually, the series is stunning. It has excellent animation and beautifully drawn characters. Unfortunately, that's about the extent of what I liked about it.

There is a LOT of sexual material in this series. From talk to jokes to actually showing nudity, it seems that most of the series is just about sex. Parents looking to buy something wholesome for their children would be better off looking elsewhere. This series suffers from the same sexual overkill as Agent Aika. It just becomes boring.

The other sin of this series is that they left it unfinished. The story just ends leaving you wonder whether Touma and Urara will end up together or whether Mieko will come back into the picture. 12 episodes should be enough to finish a story. As I understand it, the reason it was left unfinished was because the Manga was not finished at the time the episodes were made. The question, then, is why not find a good place in the manga to stop and end the video series there?

I would only recommend this DVD to people who have read and enjoyed the manga and are interested in seeing how it has been translated to video. Everyone else should steer clear.

Summary: full of tender belly-laughs
Review: This is an enchanting little story.. The limited edition DVD is the way to go...But its a multiple view experience.. Lots of great dialog with some charming animation..Others have stated as you watch it just pulls you in ..Prepare to watch them all at one time. The sub-titles are a bit annoying as they are hot and heavy but the Japanese actors inflection must be heard to appreciate this anime.. The English dub is tripe, cuts major elements out and is a lackluster dub. If you ever wanted to see your inner self as a teenager in school, this ones for you.
