Summary: good for what it was
Review: i found this movie ''alright'' as i've only saw about 30 minutes of it so far it's hilarious though and it's one of the few movies that's animated but not a kiddie movie but also not ''anime'' whinch is what you usaly think of when someone says adult animation. i only bothered to watch the film because i was a cat lover and a fan of mvies from the 60's and 70's even though it's animated it gives a much more real point of view than most movies of that time.

Summary: eh I just couldn't enjoy it
Review: I really just could not enjoy this one..and I really wanted to having enjoyed the first film so much. First it's alot more tame than the original , and by today's standards it's very tame. And it's just plain boring. The first one may have dragged in certain spots but it still kept you entertained , this one just drags and drags , and is just boring as Fritz sits around on welfare , smokes pot , ignores his nagging wife , and daydreams some rediculous situations that aren't entertaining or raunchy. Skip it

Summary: Great Sequel
Review: Of course, it's not as good as the first film, but Nine Lives is still funny and entertaining. The animation is a bit better than the first, and again Fritz is a really likeable character. Thank god for DVD and being able to see this again in it's full widescreen remastered glory. Get it now!

Summary: Ehh---ok---just slighty
Review: Ok picture.
Of course---the visuial style is more like those auful pink panther shorts from the 60's than the original Fritz---but watcha gonna do?

On funny part is the spoof on the old Gulf oil corp ('GOLF' gasoline) & strange things like Alice Cooper records floating though space and a tv with an tele-avangelist whacking people in the head in the name of Christ and LOTS of outdated racial gags.

All N' All--a good picture

Summary: Waste Of Money And Time
Review: Ok, I thought it would be cool, but it's not. Some parts of it spark my interest, but not enough. Basically, it has no plot. From the whole 30 minutes I whatched it (I couldn't stand any more)I realized this movie was made by a man, for men. I'm not the type of gal who enjoys seeing cartoon creatures having three somes and female animals jumping around naked. Just not my cup of tea. Too bad I bought both of the Fritz ... The Cat movies. It's straight out degrading. Of course, like most movies, they don't full frontal of men bouncing around butt naked. If I could, I would give it zero stars

Summary: Grows on you like a Tumor...
Review: On first veiwing, after having seen the first Fritz the Cat movie, you might feel like this maligned flick was put together while everyone was stoned, however, like fine art, it leaves something with you that brings you back to it again. and it seems to this reviewer that each time you come back to it, you discover another aspect of it,although not clearly definable, draws you back again....in fact, I'm going to watch it AGAIN right now....see ya!

Summary: This Movie Kicks A**
Review: Screw the bad reviews this animation movie is the best animated movie ever, it's rudely hilarious, move over Homer Simpson, Eric Cartman or even Beavis & Butt-head, this is a true animated classic, I haven't see the originally one yet, but I think it's going to be great as well, even the simpsons had a spoof of these films from the Itchy & Scratchy show. This movie deep-down puts everything down, especially, Hitler, The Space Station first landing of th moon, and it basically shows how everything was in the early 70's, Fritz smokes pots to get away from his overbearing big-breasted old-women. Fritz gets kill in every life and vision. The most weirdest part is that Satan being gay! Fritz sleeps with any girl he says, what do expect, he has no pants on!

This movie the best, if anyone want to experience is the late 60's and the early 70's,watch this unique film, simply the raunchiest comedy ever!

Summary: Depressing continuation of its forerunner
Review: The problem is that the original Fritz the Cat told the story of the 60's through the adventures of its title character, and talked about the problems and personalities of our times. This film first fools you into thinking it's going to do the same for the 70's...but it doesn't.

Like a reviewer before me said, there's no real plot. There's just different bits of Fritz's so-called lives, but they have very little to do with the modern era of America as some reviewers or synopsis writers have falsely said. Fritz goes back and forth between World War II, the depression, and even the future. Seeing a "New Africa" is all well and good, but no such place exists. This movie gives us plenty of a fantasy America but very little reality like the original "Fritz the Cat" did for the 60's generation.

Those who say it's great animation for it's time have not seen the original Fritz the Cat. While the animation in that may have been poor, the animation in this is awful! It reminded me of "School House Rock." Neither did this film have the great film making style of Ralph Bakshi, since Mr. Bakshi didn't direct it. His replacement tries to outdo him...a little too much. During the 1940's section with Fritz we watch lights fly by a la "2001: A Space Odyssey"...in fact the lights go on forever. I had to fast forward that scene because it was seriously dragged out beyond my patience.

This sequel could have done what it's predecessor did in revealing American society, but instead it gets caught up in the over-indulgence of the writers and director. I'm sure there's an excuse for how Hitler and his testicles greatly affected the 1970's in America...but I can't think of one.

Summary: The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat
Review: This cartoon is one of the greatest cartoons I have ever watched. It is some trippy s*#t!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best animation of it's time!
Review: This cartoon plays on many topics that were ahead of it's time! Raw, uninhibited humor at it's best! R. Crumb knows how to take one story line, and play off of it time and time again. There are subtlties that make the movie understandable and enthusiastic. Once you realize, Fritz is day-dreaming on 9 lives, these lives are how he would've rather have lived and ultimately died than have been forced to marry his wife! The faucet dripping in his eyes time and time again, is him remembering how he slipped up and got his wife pregnant. Once you realize these connections...this movie is more enjoyable each time you watch it!
