24: The Person Only For ChiA shonen (boys) series from the CLAMP team of all women writers and character designers, Chobits is a terribly cute story of Hideki, a hapless cram school student, and his accidentally acquired persocom Chi. Like most persocoms, Chi is both personal computer, and beautiful female shaped android. While the series is rated 16-up, in these four episodes, nothing particularly racy or overtly violent occurs beyond fanservice glimpses of persocoms in cute and revealing - but not exposing clothing. What may be more objectionable, is the subservient role that most of the female formed persocoms take. There are real women in this series as well, at least one of whom is more capable than Hideki. Lingering on gender politics is not what the series is about however. As a romance, things come to a climax on this disc as Minoru, Yuzuki, Yumi, Hideki, and Chi all come to realizations about their relationships with each other. Also, most of Chi's origins and her special capacities are revealed in episodes 23 and 24.

Summary: Whoa! not what I expected at all!
Review: I agree with the other reviewers who have said that "My Only Person" is *much* different than most of the other Chobits DVDs. Particularly of note is the tone of urgency that runs through the episodes, and the two new characters Zima and Dita (who have been deep in the backgriound until now).
The characters get a "makeover"-- a new layer of complexity that adds to their appeal and draws away from the frequent "cardboardness" of quite a few anime characters.
These characters have evolved through this series; even Dragonfly (the formerly one-dimensional, opportunistic hacker) has grown to become less "villainlike". Yumi (the young student who helps Hideki get a job at My Pleasure) is less perky and more realistic. And even Chi literally reveals a definitely "different" side of herself, which we have gotten brief hints of even in some of the early episodes.
My only (tiny) complaint is that more of the changes in the episodes of Disk 6 could have been explored a bit earlier; as it is, the details are rushed over as the story ends, which disturbs the slow, easy pace established early in the series. Not a huge problem, to be sure, but enough to jar the viewer slightly and make them wonder what's going on.
The ending is very well executed; it will make you cry at first, and then, after a while, you will be happy.
My only regret is, now I'll have to find another addictive series to get into. LOL!

Review: The person who said this "cartoon" is for kids is DEAD wrong. This anime is for at least 14 and up (I wouldn't show it to anyone under 16, personally...). There are many, many references to pornography, lots of nearly-naked women, and Hideki dreaming of sexual encounters with what three, four different women? Plus, Chii's "on" switch is in a place where the sun don't shine... So, unless you want to do a LOT of explaining to your kids, this isn't something to show them. That said, for older teens and adults, this is a very cute, sweet series that I really enjoyed. It's a love-conquers-all story that just might pull a few tears from your eyes... I do think that the ending was a bit rushed, but it wasn't the worst I've seen by far. Overall enjoyable, slightly naughty, but something that I would recommend seeing.

Summary: The last and best installment in the Chobits series.
Review: The whole DVD just basically wrapped up the whole series and ended. It was a little abrupt, and I thought they could've took more time and made a better ending. But, it is still the best ending I've ever seen... Hideki finally shows his feelings for Chii and... I'll leave the rest for you to see! A few notes for the last DVD... yes... there are a few mature stuff... probably 14-16 and up. Other than that, it is pretty decent... I mean... PERFECT!

Summary: What an ending!
Review: Until this series, I had only watched a few series (Tenchi Muyo & various spinoffs, Ranma 1/2, Gundam Wing) This one ranks no. 1 as my favorite, with Ai Yori Aoshi as a close second. They do a very good job about tying up all the loose ends, and closing off the series in a spectacular way. I highly recommend getting this DVD, and enjoy the conclusion!

If you thought Volume 5 started to get odd, wait 'til you see this DVD. The charecters you knew - changed. Things you thought could never happen - happened. Just wait, Chobits fans. You're in for a treat. ^___^
