Summary: BEWARE!! YOU ARE NOT CRAZY, THE GRINCH IS THE WRONG COLOR!!
Review: I DON'T CARE WHAT EXCUSES THE APOLOGISTS ARE USING... IN THIS DVD RELEASE, THE GRINCH IS YELLOW!! IT'S NOT THE COLOR ON MY TV... IT'S NOT MY DVD PLAYER... IT'S NOT MY BRAIN'S INABILITY TO TRANSFORM THE INFORMATION FROM MY EYES INTO THE CORRECT COLOR SCHEME. IT'S THE COLOR CORRECTION GUY AT THE DVD COMPANY'S FOUL-UP. IF THE GRINCH IS THE CORRECT COLOR IN THE SHOW, WHY IS HE A DIFFERENT COLOR ON THE CASE? IN READING THESE REVIEWS I HAVE SEEN EVERY EXCUSE FOR THIS ERROR (USUALLY IT'S SOMEHOW THE FAULT OF THE COMPLAINING VIEWER) BUT A FACT IS A FACT -- THE YELLOW GRINCH IS WRONG. PUT THE DVD IN YOUR PLAYER -- SEE THE YELLOW GRINCH -- HOLD UP THE BOX COVER TO YOUR TV SCREEN -- COMPARE THE YELLOW GRINCH ON YOUR TV TO THE TRADITIONAL GREEN GRINCH ON THE COVER -- TRY TO UNDERSTAND THE RATIONALE BEHIND PEOPLE CLAIMING "THE GRINCH IS THE WRONG COLOR? HUH? I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT! YOUR TV MUST BE BROKEN!" ANYONE WHO CLAIMS THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NEW YELLOW GRINCH ON THE DVD AND THE CORRECT GREEN GRINCH ON THE VHS AND THE ORIGINAL TV BROADCASTS WHEN WE WERE KIDS IS EITHER COLOR-BLIND OR DRUNK. AND YES, THIS DEBATE ABOUT THE GRINCH'S TRUE COLOR IS BOTH PETTY AND INSANE, BUT PEOPLE ARE GETTING [UNFAIR DVD'S] WHEN THEY BUY THE DVD, AND THEN BEING TOLD THEY'RE MORONS WHEN THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT THE COLOR.

DO NOT BUY THIS DVD UNTIL THEY CORRECT THE COLOR!!

(And the only reason I give this DVD any stars at all, is because it comes with "Horton Hears a Who.")

Summary: A great relief!
Review: I bought 4 of the Dr. Seuss videos available on dvd. After watching Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat In The Hat and ABC I was finally happy with one of my purchases when I watched this dvd. It was the only one which is the cartoon you watched as a child and not a poor imitation.

Summary: This a funny cartoon!
Review: Boris Karloff has made a good grinch and June Foray makes a good Cindy Lou, so I give this ***** (5 out of 5) also known as 5 stars.

Summary: People selling their copies on eBay?
Review: In the other reviews, several people have stated they sold or will sell their copies on eBay because of the alleged yellow instead of green Grinch. I can not understand this. If I didn't want my copy of this, I would NOT sell it on eBay. I would sell it on Amazon auctions or in their zShops.

However, I do have this DVD. I am not selling my personal copy because I like it so much. Chuck Jones and the animation is great. The songs are great. The extra features and commentaries are nice too!

A classic that should never be used as a franchise for Jim Carrey and Ron Howard! They would only dump the original attributes of the story and create a bunch of atrocious backstory, plot and silly antics.

I didn't like Horton hears a Who very much but it would probably be enjoyed by my kids when I have some so its a good bonus I guess.

Summary: Shame on them
Review: This is a perfect holiday treat with enough special features. I bought this on DVD, not VHS, because I watch it constantly. I wore out my old taped off TNT VHS. My, oh, my this DVD terrifies me. IT WAS FILMED FOR TELEVESION SO IT WAS SHOT IN FULL SCREEN! That is not the problem. This would be a perfect DVD if (1) ity weren't in mono and (2) the grinch wasn't yellow. Yes, yellow. HE IS NOT GRREN IN THE DVD. I know that the box has him in green. Good for it. I DON'T CARE. I wan't a green grinch and a first time stereo grinch, and maybe a little better picture quality if thhey re-release it. They replaced some old sounds, and added new "Diditally Enhanced" sound. I've never heard of digitally enhanced mono, but okay. WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST KEEP A CLASSIC. The new film hurt it enough. Now the original? I continue to watch my DVD time in again. It would already be worn out if it were VHS, some I'm glad I have this DVD. But, if they re release it with my changes, guess where it's going? Ebay.

Review: I would have given the Dvd a perfect 5 if not for the sound. Why oh why isn't this in stereo. I have heard the whole cartoon on audio and it is in great sounding stereo. Other then that its classic Dr. Seuss.

Summary: The REAL How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Review: Not that I didn't enjoy the Jim Carey version, but this is the bomb, ladies and gentleman! One of the best animated Christmas Classics of all time!

Summary: A classic
Review: This movie is a classic. Chances are you've probably seen it, you either love it or you don't, and you already know if you want to buy it or not without reading this review. :-)

Summary: Not the best, rent it instead.
Review: This is an okay movie, but is not as funny or comedic as the live version. This movie is just your basic "Grinch hates Christmas so he steals all the presents and the whole thing backfires." This is still worth seeing, just not spending money on. I mean, the Grinch doesn't even sound funny like in the one with Jim Carrey, and Cindy Lou isn't a main character, either, which [is not fair]. And also, there's no Betty Lou, or Martha May, not to mention Stu and Drew. This is my biggest complaint, you'll find that this movie is 53 minuts because it has Horton Hears a Who on it. If it wasn't for that, than this cassette would only be a half an hour, in simple terms, it is too short! Rent it instead of buying it. Remember, it's still worth seeing, just not spending money on.
