Review: Cowboy Bepo is cool! It aint the best anime ever though. It's animation is top notch. It has good music. It can get a little boring though. I'd much rather watch gundam any day. Only for hard core anime fans. If you're not than don't get it. You won't like it.

Summary: First DVD of the series, and one of the best!
Review: It's the first DVD in the series, all of the episodes are VERY good, it's one of my favorites.Episode 1: Asteroid Blues- Spike and Jet are introduced, and are two Bounty Hunters just trying to make a living doing what they do best...the year is 2071, and people now live on other planets with Earth being mostly deserted. The Episode begins with Spike and Jet seeking out a new bounty head, Asimov Solenson he's a fleeing member of the syndicate and has stolen an entire collection of an item from them called "Bloody Eye"...its some sort of addictive drug. A+ Episode 2: Stray Dog Strut- Spike and Jet go after a guy on Mars named Abdul-Hakim who has a huge bounty on his head. He's also carrying a case with something that some Lab Techs want back...overall this one is funny and great. B+ Episode 3: Honky Tonk Woman- One of my favorites in the series...it introduces Faye. It tunrs out she's in a shady deal with to recover a mysterious chip...she was offered to get it back and the guy would erase her debts. Spike and Jet head in on advice from one of Jet's dreams to try and win some big bucks. It's got some great action scenes, and is pretty funny too. A- Episode 4: Gateway Shuffle- This is one of my top five episodes in the series, it's great! It starts with Spike and Jet going after a bounty named Twinkle Murdoch, leader of the Space Warriors. She's part of a plan to save endangered species and if they don't cooperate with them she will unleash a virus that turns humans into monkeys onto the planet. Its exellent all the way through, and has one of the best endings ive ever seen in anything. A+ Episode 5: Ballad of Fallen Angels- Spike meets with Viscous...'nuff said! =D it's one of the best episodes in the series, and has a kick ass fight scene between the two. A+ Overall- A+ or 5 stars

Summary: Dubbed!
Review: Great series of movies here. They're all good. I really like them, but as with many of these movies, it is dubbed in English. If this doesn't seem to bother you, then go ahead and buy it, but it pisses the hell out of me. I discovered Cowboy Bebop on Cartoon Network, surprising place to find an anime of this quality, but I did. I was at a comic convention, and I saw they had "Knocking on Heaven's Door" on DVD, in the original japanese. I bought it, brought it home, and was flabergasted. You haven't seen Cowboy Bebop until you have seen it in the original language. Save your money, go to a comic convention, and get the real deal. I am now trying to find the entire series in Japanese. If you see any of them that aren't dubbed, pick them up.

Summary: Quite Possibly The Greatest TV Show of All Time
Review: Chances are, if your reading this then your just getting into Cowboy Bebop, dont worry then, I wont give away anything about the show. With that out of my way I'll start my review. The very first time I saw cowboy bebop I loved it, it seemed to be a fun show, but later I would truly understand just what cowboy bebop was. The first dvd intoduces Spike and Jet, two bounty hunters in the future, yes this sounds like a horrible show but keep reading. On their space ship (The Bebop) they track down bounties and from there the plot begins. The reason this show shines with such a overdone plot is the way it is presented. This show is packed with character development and great animation. What more would you want, well they also have a great sound track that consists of mostly jazz, actions scenes that make John-Woo drool, and stories that never put you down until the end of the episode, if not, the series. The show has so much verity that anyone can get into the show. Its almost unbeliveable that a show this perfect was made, it has such imagination and beauty that it seems every outher show before it was scraching the surface, dont pass this show up, I know you'll love it.

Summary: Hollywood could learn a lot from this series
Review: There is so much in these series that's lacking from many many Hollywood movies. Not the least of which is style & a smart sense of humor. Watch all five before passing final judgment. Will the anime studios create their own tinseltown & go the route of Disney? I bet they could, and series like this give me real reason to believe so.

Summary: Absolutly Incredible
Review: Cowboy Bebop is a premere example of good anime. Everything about it is good, and well balenced. It has gorgeous animation, a well mached musical accompanyment (courtesy of Yoko Kano), and rich characters. There is even a good balence between comedy and action, space battles and martial arts.... everything in Bebop is well thought out and bordering on perfection. While most of the episodes on Session 1 are filler episodes, or comedic in nature, the final episode on this DVD is amazing. Focusing on Spike's past, it presents some background on the Spike, while leavign some details a little ambiguous. I loved all of the characters that were familiar from his past, Julia, Vicious, and the lady at the drug store. There is mystery here, in admist the fabulously choreographed battle between Spike and Vicious. Not to mention that it maintains Bebop's standing as an a-typical series, this statement can't really be clarified here without giving away the outcome of the episode, but if you watch it, you'll understand. Seriously, there's a good chance this'll be your new favorite anime, no matter what kind of anime you're generally into.

Summary: "Space western" at it's best
Review: Cowboy Bebop makes a risky statement since the beginning: It calls itself the series that will define a new genre. This is a commitment to the viewers, an a big bet. If Cowboy Bebop didn't live up, Sunrise would have undoubtely gone into obvlivion or worse, infamy. However, they did manage to pull it off. The series follows Spike Spiegel and Jet Black, two bounty hunters with mysterious pasts. Yes, the space bounty hunter plot has been done to death and back, but they actually pull it off. It's never been done quite like this, and boy does it work. Both Spike and Jet are great lead characters, and you'll learn to care about them and empathically connect with them. Later they'll introduce Faye Valentine, Ed and Ein the dog, and they also are great main characters. The plot is great, with a loose way of developing it that will surely be appealing. Almost all ends are tied, and by the time the last episode ends, it's a unforgettable experience. The first thing to strike you is the style. From the space western setting to the jazzy soundtrack, everything is great. The animation is one of the smoothest I've seen in anime, and it does show in the fight scenes, both in person and in the spaceships. The design is great, with Spike's design standing out as one of the best in anime. the music, performed by the Inigualable Yoko Kanno, is full with great jazz and blues songs that will stay in your mind. All in all, it's hard to find real problems with Bebop. Sometimes is goes a little overboard into the unbelievable, but then again, it's a sci-fi series, so that should be expected. This is Space western at it's best. I highly recommend it, even if you're not into anime.

Summary: Great Fun
Review: When people ask why I, for some odd reason, like anime, I usually respond that it's just plain fun to watch. Of course this reasoning doesn't apply to several more cerebral titles, like serial experiments lain, it certainly applies to Cowboy Bebop. This first DVD is an excellent introduction to a fantastic series. The first thing that must be said: the music is fantastic. With a title like Cowboy Bebop, one would hope that the music would hold its own. Oh, it does. Yoko Kanno provides one of the best soundtracks in any type of media, ever. Go on, download some of the music and see what I mean. Maintaining such high quality as well as variety is a true achievement. Cowboy Bebop reminds a lot more of American cartoons than a lot of anime series usually do. The episodic nature has a lot to do with this. While there is an overarching storyline in the background that mostly focuses on slowly revealing the characters' pasts, most episodes can easily stand alone. The first four of the episodes on the first DVD are like this--they are completely self contained stories. Session 1 provides a great introduction to the characters and style of the show. If you enjoy the first episode then you'll probably like the entire series. It's fast paced, features some great scenes (the fist fight between Spike and the "Red-Eye" dealer is great). Session 2 introduces Ein, the ship's dog. I love Ein--he's just plain awesome. Otherwise, this is the weakest episode in the DVD (which really doesn't mean much) because it features such a weak premise compared to the others. Hakim simply wasn't as interesting a villain as the ones in the other sessions. Session 3 introduces Faye Valentine, the third human partner. The relationship between Spike and Jet and Faye is set up well and the same style continues throughout the series. It also has a great opening gunfight. Session 4 is the best of the stand-alone episodes. The eco-terrorist setup is great, and the leader a great style villain. Also, the team up between Faye and Spike is a great end to the session. Session 5 is the strongest in the DVD. We finally get some glimmers of Spike's past and meet Vicious a great bad-[rear]. The fight between Spike and Vicious is excellent. The church setting provides for some great scenery. It may seem as if I mentioned a lot of specific instances of what makes each session good. Like I said, Cowboy Bebop is fun and what makes it so are some fantastic scenes that stick in one's mind well after you've watched the DVD.

Summary: Probably the most mature anime yet
Review: Cowboy bebop is a marvellous anime series featuring 4 very well made, integrated characters, remarkably beautiful artwork and an awsome jazzy soundtrack. The episodes are self standing and as the story progresses, they are combined to form an excellent storyline describing the formation of a group of bounty hunters, consisting of Spike, an extremely cool individualist, Jet, a very likeable and caring guy, Faye, a fit beyond belief female, and Ed, a naive, energetic girl (and their dog, Ed). Hounted by their tragic pasts, they all seek their personal salvation, while the viewer is provided with sporadic references about each one's history. Action, humour, sorrow and hope, all there for you to enjoy, in this anime which should be instantly added to your manga collections.
