Summary: Loved it!
Review: I went to see Jonah at the theater (with my kids 5,7 & 10)expecting a nice movie but didn't expect it to be above average since Christian movie don't have the "Disney" budget. But I was pleasantly suprised!!!! We laughed the whole movie-as did the other adults and kids in the theater. We went right out and bought the music Cd so we could hear "First Aid in the First Grade" in it's entirety. We sing it in the car all the time. (although I try to stay on the road a little better than the "Veggies" did!) I can't wait to get the DVD. I hope we see more quality Christian movies such as this!!! WE NEED THEM!

Summary: Wonderful
Review: Jonah is a wonderful story and has a lesson behind it. We are to forgive as the Lord forgives and show mercy to others as we would want the Lord to show mercy and Love to us. It's hard to be kind and Loveing but thats where the Lord gives us the ability to do so. Jonah is shown you cann't hide and run from what you are called to do. We all have a calling and we have to walk the right path the Lord intends us to, even if its not to our liking. This is a wonderful childerns movie and my kids loved it.

Summary: I'm a little prejudiced.......
Review: I'm a little prejudiced about the whole Veggie Tales series ....Mike Nawrocki (AKA Larry the Cucumber) is my nephew!! (yes, really!) I have enjoyed everything that Big Idea productions has done because I can say "I knew him when". There are many family jokes hidden in the movies.
As for Jonah, I am so pleased that kids can enjoy it and receive some moral values at the same time; especially great was the fact that the movie competed quite well with the "big boys" of Hollywood. Way to go, Mike, and all the other extremely talented people at Veggie Tales. My favorite Veggie Tale is the one called "Are you my neighbor?"
If you want your kids to see movies that are wholesome and teach (in a non-preachy way) moral values, take 'em to see anything by Veggie Tales.
Keep up the good work, Mike...from Aunt Joyce. (no, I'm not the one with the beard!!)

Summary: Good Stuff!
Review: I am baffled by the reviewer below who is baffled that this movie of Jonah does not tell the story of Job. (Also her complaints that the Veggies in VeggieTales have no limbs. I'd say they make the best of what they have!)

This is not a perfect movie -- the 1/2 hour short is still, probably, the ideal length for the messages and humor of the VT creators. But there is some solid animation, some good (if not classic) songs, and the message is value-laden without being heavy-handed. Indeed, the movie ends with Jonah still "not getting it," the idea that he must accept others as being worthy of God's word. A message that all sides in the current travails might ponder.

Summary: Even better than Thomas and the Magic Railroad
Review: Not what I expose on Barney, Teletubbies, Sesame Street, Bob the Builder (I hate those), Blue's Clues, Thomas & Friends, Piglet, Dragon Tales. (I like those) I was not sure on Veggietales. I am not hook on baby shows that much. Jonah A Veggietales Movie was the best little kid's movie. Sesame Street I am not sure. I enjoyed Jonah A Veggietales Movie. I thought it was even better than all the movies on PBS even Thomas The Tank Engine and Thomas and the Magic Railroad. At first I thought Jonah A Veggietales Movie would be even worst than Thomas and the Magic Railroad. I still went to see it. The theater I went to was full. No kids left during it. I enjoyed it. Jonah A Veggietales Movie is even better than Barney's Great Adventure, (didn't see it) The Teletubbies Movie, (if there was a Teletubbies movie) The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland, (I thought it was OK) and even Thomas and the Magic Railroad. (I enjoyed that one a lot) Jonah A Veggietales Movie I enjoyed it a whole 100% x 100% more than all those movies; if I saw Barney's Great Adventure or NOT!!!!

Summary: Jonah Go!
Review: I didn't think Big Idea would ever come out with a full feature-length Veggie Tales show, but they did. And it worked. Technically, the animation is more impressive than any of their other works. The movie also flows with the same light-heartedness mixed with Biblical morals and what not. I can see how the movie could get tedious for younger kids, but it's a very fun show. I can't say the music numbers were up to par, however. But all in all, I really enjoyed the movie, mostly because I was very familiar with Veggie Tales. To anyone who has not seen any previous episodes, this movie could be a little intimidating. However, setting your opinions aside, Jonah is just about as fun as you make it to be.

Summary: The movie was OK -- not as good as we hoped.
Review: This review is in regards to the movie. We saw it with our son. The movie was ok but just not quite as good as some of the other Veggie Tale movies. "The Star of Christmas" that just came out on DVD last month is considerably better. The ultimate critic was our small son who is normally mesmerized by the Veggie Tales. He grew restless watching this movie. Bob the Tomato has just a minor roll in the movie while Larry the Cucumber has a slightly larger part but is still not the main character. I think that is why my son grew bored. I give it the movie an average rating at best. My personal recommendation is "The Star of Christmas".

Summary: homeschool mom of 2 *** We LOVED it!!!
Review: I thought that this was a great movie. We went to the theater on opening day. Our family very rarely goes to the Theater, but I was thrilled to go opening night and invited as many of my friends and family that I could. I am thrilled the movie did well at the theater, perhaps some of the Larger Movie producers got the message that "if they make it" Good, Family Oriented, Christian Films, "They Will come". The movie is great for kids and adults alike. My kids have seen it twice. (talked grandma into talking them) She thought is was great. We can't wait to see it again. We just purchased the soundtrack and can't wait to purchase the DVD.

There is so much TRASh out there, Finally something with an encouraging message. As far as a previous reviewer mentioning that "they were hit over the head" with a christian message. The message is "our God is a God of second chances". How horrible is that! In our society, our kids are bombarded with the message that, if your not good enough, then your no good. In Sports, school, home, how we look, etc. the message is the same. In this movie, Yes, they make it very clear, that no one is perfect, we all make mistakes, but that's ok because there is still hope for you and Yes, God does still love you and wants you to love Him.

Summary: How funny can a vegetable be? Pretty FUNNY!
Review: I just couldn't believe it! I took my granddaughters age 3 and 6 (avid veg heads) and thought I would suffer through it. Instead, I found myself laughing my head off and enjoying the fact that I didn't have to worry about bad language, inmunedos, and such. How good was this film? Well, I can't wait for the release of the DVD so I can get two copies. One for them, one for grampy and me. I love the theme, I love the animation, I love everything about it. I wouldn't qualify this just as a "Christian" film. I think the veggie tales series is for anyone who desires to see a value system instilled in their children.
