Summary: Acceptable... Daughter's #2 fav
Review: The songs SUCK, the plot is kinda thin, BUT I give it good marks because it got my little girl to ASK to go potty and that had been our stumbling block for 2 months. We'd never watched any Bear in the Big Blue house things but I wasn't offended by anything in it to the point that it is banned in our home. The songs were the worst part... ESP the one about being a member of the "Tooooooiiiilett - Eers". Also, the terms for Poo and Pee weren't what we call it in our house. It handled the accident very well and I haven't had problems with her wanting ot make accidents after seeing this - unlike another video we tried did.
It's my little girl's #2 favorite video at this time about potty training.

Summary: If your child loves Bear, you'll both like this DVD
Review: The DVD comes with three episodes, while the VHS I think comes with only the one potty episode. Like all bear shows, this is gentle in getting across the message, it just talks about each character's issues with potty training, and the concept of sitting on a potty, having to go, having accidents, excusing yourself, asking for a bathroom, etc. Shadow always has some slightly scarier songs( one had animation of jack and jill falling and actually hurting their heads as opposed to a teletubbies type treatment where they roll gently for fun!), and this is no exception. It teaches good hygeine too! Looking at some of the negative reviews, yes, your child needs to be a fan of BBBH to want to watch this.

Summary: Potty Time with Bear
Review: After reading several good reviews, I purchased this tape. I would give this one a 5 star rating, but my two year old won't, so I compromised. I really like the concept of the characters learning how to address various potty related issues. Tutter doesn't want to leave his game of checkers, others have accidents or need privacy. The characters remind that you must always flush and wash your hands. The tunes are also memorable. However, my little girl is not interested in this tape at all. Perhaps because she is not interested in watching Bear when it is on regular TV? All in all, if your child likes Bear in the Big Blue House, I would recommend it!

Summary: We LOVE Bear, but this wasn't what I expected
Review: I thought a Bear video would be excellent to help my daughter begin to learn about the potty. I expected some sort of instructional type video I guess; this was just another episode from the regular tv series and as I recall there is only one show. Usually the videos have two shows. The "Shadow" story has a funk song "Potty, yea, yea, yea, potty" It is difficult to even tell that the word they are singing is "potty", and sounds more like "party". My daughter, now 28 months, is potty trained, but this video did not help at all in my opinion.

Summary: Learning to Potty with Bear and His Friends
Review: "Potty Time With Bear", is the best in "learning - to - potty" videos. Throughout this 25 - minute video, Bear helps his young friends Treelo, Tutter and Ojo in learning this common but sensitive lesson that every child must learn. Treelo, the lemur, is the youngest and is just getting out of diapers. He feels troubled, so Bear has a talk with him, telling him that learning to use the potty means that he is growing up. Treelo learns that growing up is a good thing, and he should be proud of his accomplishments. Tutter, the mouse, is out of diapers but still has to be reminded about some of the steps in going to the potty. At the beginning of the show Tutter and Bear are playing a game, and Tutter suddenly has to go to the bathroom. He doesn't want to stop playing long enough to go to the potty. So, Bear tells him that its OK to take time out to go and use the potty when you need to. He won't miss anything, and whatever he was doing will be waiting for him when he has finished. While Tutter is in the bathroom, Bear takes him through the motions of going to the potty, reminding him that one should wipe, flush and wash their hands when they are finished. Ojo, the young bear, has an accident while trying to make it to the bathroom. She is very upset and feels really ashamed. Bear helps her to realize that this happens sometimes and that it's perfectly normal. He encourages her to pay attention to her body when it's telling her that it's time to go. When she realizes she needs to go, she should go immediately and not wait. The catchy tunes and fun lyrics in the songs they sing throughout the show helps to bring everything together. Of course, there is the usual "Welcome Song" and "Goodbye Song," but there are two new songs as well: "Potty Chair" and "Toileteers." These songs help you get into the show, and make you feel like singing and dancing with the characters, while the words are teaching you about going to the potty. I would recommend this video to everyone. It's fun for kids to watch even if they have already learned to go to the potty. And, it's fun for parents to watch with their children. If you have seen any of the "Bear In The Big Blue House" TV shows, then you know how wonderful they are, but if you haven't then please give them a try. Review: I have two sons, one almost 2 and one who is 3. My 2 year old loves Bear in the Big Blue House, and likes to imitate the words and phrases that he hears from the videos. My 3 year old is currently trying to potty train, and the video has encouraged him along the way. Overall, it has been a great video!

Review: If your child likes Bear, he/she will like this video. My daughter was already doing very well with the potty training when I bought this, so I'm not sure how much it helped her. She enjoyed watching it and sang along with the songs. I babysit two other children who are 2 1/2 that have no interest in "going in the potty" and had very little interest in watching the video. Video was almost "too gentle". No we cannot force our children to get potty trained but should reinforce the importance of training firmly.

Summary: Good quality video
Review: My daughter started potty learning about three months ago. After awhile it all came to a stop. I felt she needed a little more motivation. I selected this video based on great reviews from other parents. Well, my 24-month-old did not get potty trained in one week, but she's willing to give it another try. She'll now sit on the potty 'just like the mouse'. I thought that a 'Potty train' song with shadows was a bit too scary for a young child, but my daughter expressed only slight consern the first time she watched the video. Very nice work.

Summary: I couldn't believe it
Review: I was a litte hesitant buying this video, but after reading previous reviews, I thought "what did I have to lose." My 3yr old son would tell me when he had to go but was refusing to sit on the potty. I bought the video, he watched it twice and asked for his potty chair right away. He is going on his own now, and likes to watch the video afterwards to tell "Bear" that he did go potty. The songs are really catchy and Bear makes the kids feel at ease with going potty. It's direct and to the point. And a winner! I recommend it to any one struggling with this issue.
