Summary: The End of Evangelion is a must have anime.
Review: The End of Evangelion is a visual tour de force, this movie is excellent superb animation, great character design, and one of the best endings in anime history (or at least i'd like to think so). This movie will blow your mind, its really just Manga's version of the ending to the Neon Genesis Evangelion series if you haven't seen the series you'll be lost trust me, because this movie begins right after Shinji ikari kills kaoru the last angel in episode 24. It's one of the strangest animes you will come across but brilliant in it's own way, i recomend it to hard core anime fans and the people that have seen the series.

Summary: A must buy for any Hard-Core Eva Fan like me...
Review: This is the continuation of the series just after the sevententh angel. The two later episodes are just the oposite of this movie. If you really didn't like the ending of the series good, because I didn't either.It has a shocking ending but oyu have to remember one thing TAKE IT AS IT REALLY LOOKS AT THE END!!! Don't try to over think it just look at it like someone seeing it without seeing the other episodes..

Summary: Truly Epic Conclusion
Review: Having been heavily disappointed with the last episodes of NGE and the sub-par Death & Rebirth, I was hoping for something truly great in this. Thankfully, I found what I was looking for. Having grown up with the series in elementary school, I had to see this (I saw it about 2 years ago, being 16). It was a truly moving experience. Somewhat of a somber theme, but the long-awaited proper ending had been found, and it was so incredibly satisfying.

Review: If you've seen the Eva series, this is a must see to just have some more closure and explanation. It's really crazy though, and depressing, but still worth the watch if you've seen the series.

Review: Fans of Evangelion? So was I until I watchind this movie. Shinji is the most annoying character ever. He is all the most trivial problems of puberty lumped into one annoying whiny little jerk. Shinji is "afraid to shower in gym class" time a million. And besides that, all I have to say about this movie is What is going on? Seriously, i have no idea what happened except that I used to like this series and now I'm ever so angry.

Summary: The End of Evangelion
Review: This is by far some of the most vivid, compelling, and great anime's i have ever seen, I have been collecting this series from the start, and finally got some time to watch the End of Evangelion. Said to be on of the greates anime saga's of all time.
Asuka(pilor of eva) after being in recovery, is suited up, once the special forces invade NERV and is sent under water so they do not kill her, the team of forces kill nerves personal as they see them and are looking for the pilots, to execute them so they can not pilot the EVAS anymore.
KEEP IN MIND THIS IS IN PLACE of FINAL GENISIS the last video, and with Death and Rebirth, which should be watched before this.
After Auska is awoken the forces launch depth charges in the lake try to kill her. SHe then awakes and the battle begins, as the 9 eva series arive from the skies.
And i will leave the rest for u to watch.
This Story may take time to understand. If you ponder it for a while it may make sense to you, i highly suggest buying the rest of the series, and Death and Rebirth, the companion to this.

Summary: The End of Evangelion'
Review: After reading some comments I have decided to write my own. Firstly, the entire series requires you to pay alot of attention and be quite perceptive. I have seen the directors cut' of episodes 20-26 and they explain alot of plot points differently in the scenes of the non-directors cut' and includenew scenes which answer questions otherwise left up to the imagination entirely. In the whole of the Evangelion Series (movies included) the English subtitles and dubbing vary, thus I highly recommend watching both the dub and the japanese w/english subtitles. Besides the varied explanations/alternative dialog-script the second screening will probably reveal images you may have missed on the first veiwing and the japanese dialog may invoke different emotions, possibly clarifying a given charecters actions and choices. If your on the "up and up" with Evangelion you know (or will now!!!) that the LIVE action movie is in the works!!!... The directors cut's include information about this wonderous news as does newtype magazine. As End of Evangelion was the retelling of episodes 25 and 26 the live action film will be the retelling of the entire saga.

Summary: Above-Average Anime Fare
Review: Well, 3 1/2 stars...
This film (both episodes) was far superior to the series it was intended to cap off in most ways. It was moving and disturbing, and rewarded careful scrutiny of both the previous installments and itself. However, there were a handful of minor problems and one major one.
The little stuff first:
The scene where Shinji masturbates was completely unnecessary and only serves to make this film (and, perhaps, the medium) lose credibility among the non-hardcore public- kind of like 'fanservice', in all its forms. I realize that he needed to do something "bad" to Asuka for motivation in a later scene, but there were any number of other bad things he could have done (or that we could at least have not seen so directly).
The second issue I have is, I admit, nit-picky, but I always find it frustrating when characters in an anime have lengthy, often soul-searching, conversations at the most inappropriate times, from a logical point-of-view. Sure, the part where Katsuragi brings Shinji to the elevator was their last chance to chat, so it made sense for them to do so from a plotting/storyboard angle. But when the fate of the world is hanging in the balance and there's only three minutes to go, real people tend to hurry. It's only an issue because it hamstrings my suspension of disbelief. Up to that point I was really empathizing with the characters' (well, Misato's) feelings of urgency, but that sputtered out when the race suddenly didn't seem all that important anymore.
Now the big problem:
The final scene was abysmal. It all made perfect sense up to that point. Shinji reverted completely to his pre-Episode 1 self between Episodes 24 and 25, but at last he was back and had taken a stand. (Despite what some people seem to think, it is clearly stated in the film that Shinji chose to live in a world with "others" because, even though there was pain, there was the possibility of joy, too. In the world where all people were one, there was simply no feeling at all). The ending wasn't 'happy', but it was at about the 'happiness-level' I had been expecting. But, only seconds after making this decision, Shinji seems to revert again and tries to strangle Asuka for no apparent reason. In the previous scene, he had come to terms with the pain that is part of existence. But now all that seems to be forgotten. (Incidentally, in response to some commentary I have read, he is definitely NOT just touching her to prove that there really are other people alive now- he is clearly digging his thumbs into her throat to cut off her air).
This is far from all that's wrong with Evangelion, but most of the issues are ones of plot construction throughout the series, and don't directly pertain to this DVD.
Well, on the up-side, the tone of the series changed completely in the movie, and it changed for the better. Evangelion finally took itself completely seriously and, thus, earned credibility. Most of the previous installments (especially the early ones) were so jam-packed with comic-relief and fanservice that I just couldn't take it seriously. In fact, had the anime not been so famous that I just wanted to see what the fuss was about, I probably wouldn't have continued watching it beyond Episode 2. In fairness, these distractions got progressively less frequent as the show continued, and they were almost totally absent by the final 8 episodes.
As has been mentioned almost everywhere else, the animation is top-notch, and I found the English voice script to be quite good. I've watched it (and the series) with the subtitles too and, frankly, as a non-Japanese speaker the dub gives out far more information and in a more realistic manner.
Of course, one has to have seen the entire series (and paid very careful attention) for this film to mean anything. Altogether, I think it's worth it. Had Shinji done anything else at the end I could have given this a perfect score.

Summary: What's left to be said?
Review: Well, there's not much left to say about this movie as the countless other reviews point out the pros and cons(most of which are uneducated one star reviews. Most, not all) of this movie. I, however thought the original ending was superior. Anyways, the movie is great, from the dub to the special features there is plenty to see. Just make sure you've seen the series first...that's just common sense. In the end this review is only here to counter act all the stupid one star reviews. Some things to check out on the DVD:
* The commentary
* The 5.1 dolby Digital surround sound
* THE MOVIE ITSELF!

Summary: Simply put- horrifying
Review: The apocalyptic visions this feature provokes are nightmarish and fantastic. It was the perfect end to a masterpiece. And although it is a bit grousome at times the movie an epic and climactic ending to the series!
