Summary: Any fan of animation, humor, and a great story will love it.
Review: TRIGUN is without a doubt one of the most original and spectacular anime series that I have ever seen. After watching all 26 episodes, I can assure you that purchasing the box set is the farthest thing from a waste of money.As many people can tell you, the story centers around Vash the Stampede, a legendary 'outlaw' who leaves a wake of mass destruction in the towns he passes through (though no one ever dies, not a fact to be overlooked). After receiving several hundred claims on "Humanoid Typhoon"-related events, the Berardinelli Insurance Society sends two claims investigators (the no-nonsense Meryl and her ditzy yet insightful partner Milly) to find this Vash and stop him from causing any further damage. After searching for rumors of this 'terrible' man, they can't believe it when they meet the real thing - instead of a cold-blooded killer, Vash is one of the most hilarious and crazy people on the planet. The first 12 or so episodes of the series are mainly individual-episode stories that focus on humor and character development, with the introduction of such memorable characters as Kuroneko-sama (the mysterious black cat) and Nicholas D. Wolfwood, the traveling priest with the biggest "cross" you've ever seen, and a host of strange villains and ordinary people who cross Vash's path. It's hard to believe it when in later episodes, the humor slowly dies down and Trigun reveals the dark drama that left me in tears for the last few episodes. This series defies a genre - while it is a sci-fi/western story, labels such as "shoujo" (girl's story) or "shounen" (boy's story) simply do not fit - EVERYONE I know loves this show, whether they're teenage girls or middle-aged men. The animation quality is consistently excellent, the music is a perfect fit (especially "H.T.", the opening theme), and you're guaranteed plenty of laughter (especially when Vash is around pretty women) and tears (episode 23 reduced me to a sobbing mess). Love and peace, and of course donuts for all. ^_-

Review: I am a big fan of Pioneer studio for making high quality entertaining anime and this is no exception. Trigun has an insteresting sci-fi dramatic storyline and also makes you laugh like hell just about the entire time. A must have for any otaku.

Summary: TRIGUN IS AMAZING
Review: I bought dvd after dvd of this series. It is an amazing story line with fantastic animation. Each character had there own history. This series is one the best I have ever seen. The action was amazing, and there was so much comedy that keeps things light. Each time you watch an episode you discover something new. Vash is a very interesting character and you are compelled to try to find out as much as possible about him, and he is also a very comedic character, completing each mission with a touch of humor. The life that Vash lives makes you feel sorry for him and what makes him act like that. Wolfwood is also very interesting character with him being a preacher and a great fighter at the same time is very exciting, his sense of justice is also very different from that of Vash, which makes them have a good but difficult friendship. I reccomend you buy the box set if you haven't seen the series, it is amazing.

Review: With beautiful and detailed animation and a flowing storyline, Trigun proves to be a wonderful addition to any collector's lineup. Switching from the serious to the comedy is frequent and seamless, while the plot is entrancing. Deep characterization, giving each person with their own motivations and personalities, makes it enjoyable to watch over and over again without growing tired. If you must get one series, make sure it's this one. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Just another japanese flick for us to watch
Review: Vash the Stampede has a $60,000,000,000 bounty on his head. And where ever he goes trouble follows. Combined with the 2 female insurance agents that follow him to prevent damage to insured property, he sets of on his adventure in the desert world. The setting is somewhat of "old west" only in the desert. This character is very unusual even with his reputation of the worst outlaw alive he prefers not to kill anyone. Why? Simply because he doesn't know why he is the outlaw.
This series decided not to take a step back from the japanese "foolishness" and is filled with "baka" jokes. Not a very deep story and because the character is "not to kill", the situations that he gets into are solved in a stupid way. The first 14 or so episodes are good, but later episodes are not. As soon as you think something good is about to happen, some lame excuse for a solution is presented. This character is not complex rather just "baka". The character mystery is paper thin, and other characters "bad guys" aren't developed enough for us to care why they are fighting for their lives. Some useless/boring episodes were added to fill the 26 episode format.
Now don't think this anime is terrible, it's just not a master piece like "Cowboy Bebop", it's just another japanese flick like "Saber Marionette J". It's like american action movies, it's fun while you watch it. It's probably good enough to own, but it's rewatch value is low.

Summary: Will be a classic
Review: I won't go into the plot or the storyline at all, because I don't want to deny anyone any part of the experience. I've recently watched some other popular anime (Evangelion, Slayers, Saber Marionete J) and I liked them all a lot, however, I don't feel any of them can touch Trigun. The humor draws you into the storyline, and then the storyline keeps you hooked to the end. The only problem I really had with this series, is that it came to an end. I bought the whole series, because I couldn't wait for the boxed set - it is the only anime I've ever bought. On top of the excellent animation, is the superb soundtrack. There are 2 songs in particular that will bring a whole new understanding once you've watched the latter episodes. (Rem's song, and the closing song) I laughed, I cried, I said Nyaoo (kawaii nekoneko!)

If you want to experience the enjoyment of trigun, get off your butt and buy this collection, you won't regret it. If you do regret it, well then you need to see a shrink...

Summary: So funny (and deep too)!
Review: Some other reviewers have noted that Vash is an implausible(...); that he is un-heroic and the show lacks balance in the transition from funny to serious. This, of course, stems from a misunderstanding of what a hero is and how complex characters are developed. The theme of the reluctant hero is rather common--it exists from the Christ (who wished not to die) to the "manslayer" (another hero that refuses to kill). Vash has tremendous power (as does Knives) but he chooses to use it for good. The first ten episodes of the show emphasis his childish nature and establishes his pacifist beliefs, his sense of justice and how he must reconcile the two. Despite his constant heroics, people both hate and fear him, mistaking him for the villain and trying to cash in on the $60 billion on his head. And perhaps the key part of his character is missed by these reviewers; Vash suffers to save others (the "by his stripes we are healed" of Isaiah is literal-Vash is covered with scars from times he refused to kill). His is a "hunter of peace, chasing the elusive mayfly of love", trying to find his small piece of happiness and peace in a barren world. So, in a sense, the other reviewers are right that Vash is weak in the sense that the Knight of the woeful countenance was crazy. The villains on the show certainly view him as such and one wonders which will crack first: Vash or them. The show heavily emphases Christian themes (even featuring a gun toting priest and two episodes: Diablo and Sin) especially redemption And besides, this show is filled with humor, wild west/techno guitar music and awesome duels; the only trouble is the subtitling that is filled with errors. Trigun is one of the greatest Animes and Vash the humanoid typhoon is an ultra cool tragic hero.
