Summary: DO'NT HESITATE, BUY THIS NOW!!!!!!!!
Review: This has got to be one of the best anime DVD's ever. The series on these two discs are some of the greatest anime EVER and the video transfer is BEAUTIFUL, plus you get an 5.1 japanese track AND a english 2.0 (ARRRGGHHH!!! STEREO!!!!!) track. Personally I prefer the english dub, because i saw Tenchi Muyo! in english first and thats how i think of it. But all you anime purists out there, do'nt worry, the dub is really good. In conclusion I want to say: BUY THIS BEFORE IT'S TO LATE!!!!

Review: One of the best OVA Box Set you can buy! The story of Tenchi Muyo and his (girl)friends (yeah, he has more than one?!) is very funny!

If you're an otaku than don't miss this OVA :-)

Summary: Awesome, absolutely stunning!!
Review: I am writing today to say that i was totally blown away by the quality of Tenchi Muyo - OVA DVD. The sound quality and picture quality is absolutely stunning. This box set is a must for all those Tenchi Muyo fans. It is the original version that showed in Japan and not the censored U.S. tv version. The only drawback to this set is that the nudity and flurting scenes may be disturbing to some viewers. However, if you have a laid back casual sense of humor, you will probably enjoy these scenes as they do add extra humor. As to the plot, I won't spoil it. You must watch it and find out for yourself. If you have seen Tenchi Universe, then you will notice that it is different. My only criticism is that this box set is so short (13 episodes a little over 7 hours). Unfortunately, this series is over for the time being. So in the mean time sit back and enjoy this wonderful box set and you will then realize why Animae such as Tenchi Muyo is famous world wide!

Summary: Best. Anime. Ever.
Review: I started watching this series on the Cartoon Network. It started off innocently enough. One Saturday morning it came on and I watched 5 minutes of it, felt dirty and changed the channel. After flipping around for 10 minutes, I caught the last 5 of Tenchi. The next week I was there for the beginning and after 10 minutes, I quickly changed the channel, feeling as if I was dirtying myself or something. Flipping around for 5 minutes I returned for the remainder of the show. The next week, there I was, anxiously WAITING for the show to come on. I am now an official Tenchi junkie, buying as much Tenchi as I can afford and watching whenever I get a chance.

This is the BEST collection of anime I own (and I own ALOT). Tenchi is the right mix of romance/comedy/sci-fi. I can have the absolute worst day at work, come home, watch Tenchi and laugh the whole time, making my day in the process.

The THX Certified Video/Audio transfer is excellent. The Encyclopaedia is full of "extras". The Japanese 5.1 Audio is a bonus.

Keep in mind that you may not want to purchase this for your children. If they like it on the Cartoon Network, please remeber that CN edits alot of things out, like some minor language and Ryoko loving to be nude.

If you plan on becoming a Tenchi Collector, this series is first, Earth/Universe is next and then Tokyo. This was the order in which they were made; all of the series start with Tenchi being alone and then meeting the girls in different ways (for the OVA and Earth/Universe anyway) so you don't HAVE to watch them in this order, it is just my strong suggestion.

BUY THIS!

Summary: This should be in everyone's collection
Review: This DVD set is absolutely excellent, easily the best anime I own. The sound quality is top-notch, picture quality is perfect and the dubbing is almost word-for-word. The only gripe is that it's a region-encoded disc, meaning that anyone who doesn't live in the US or Australia is out in the cold (chalk up another point for huge, greedy corporations), unless they can obtain a region-free DVD player, but look hard and you'll probably manage to get one. The Encyclopedia is a nice touch, but none of the trailers/previews on it have subtitles, so they're pretty much lost on me. Buy this set.

Summary: Tenchi Muyo Infinity
Review: SEVEN... STRAIGHT... HOURS... of UNCUT... UNCENSORED... Tenchi Muyo will permanently warp your mind. You will think about the characters, you will love the characters, you will nod off and BECOME the characters (Not to mention finally be able to understand all that "fan fiction" literature littering the webrings).

Where the Cartoon Network::Toonami (The only network to my knowledge still showing the series) versions were so horribly butchered it was, at times, difficult to sympathize with some of the trials each character experienced because such critical information was left out because of [cough] "cultural differences" [cough]. So be warned, this IS NOT the Toonami versions of the episodes nor is it possible to see them from these (3) discs.

Video is crisp, although you'd be better doing proper justice to this powerful series by utilizing your S-Video output for maximum quality. Without, quality is still bleeding edge OUTSTANDING though some minute (I mean REALLY insignificant) scanlining will be visible on larger CRT televisions when viewed from less than a meter away. This will definitly make you cringe if you watched Tenchi Muyo on these absolutely golden discs and then watched a regular cable signal. You WILL notice a difference. Color is vibrant and the pallette is very diverse. Some minor aliasing may be noticeable if you are too close to your set or the TV is too small to begin with.

Sound is nothing short of tear jerking magic. The Japanese audio track is razor sharp, coming at you at nothing less than 5.1 channels. English track comes through only 2.0 (Dolby Stereo?) channels and some dialogue can seem weak given the underlying emotion. The musical score for both however is, hoping to not become too cliche here, outstanding.

The package itself features a plastic coated double-height box unfolding to reveal three individual discs, the first containing episodes 1-7 (including "The Night Before the Carnival" which will probably never be shown on national TV in the States), the second, episodes 8-13 (including "Here Comes Jurai Part II", completely cut from the Toonami version for both "cultural differences" and the need for "Here Comes Jurai" to fit in a one-hour time slot, just watch "Here Comes Jurai" throughout and then 'Part II' will come after the credits) and the third disc, the holy-but-brief Tenchi Encyclopedia Ver 3.0 featuring video clips, character bios, pencil tests, design sketches, and three other sections for Misc. Tenchi bits from Japan, a "Sneak Peek" section for Tenchi Muyo in Love 2 ("Tenchi Forever"), and the third, an art section featuring image galleries and the original English comics (Don't even bother squinting to read the captions without your S-Video port or a REALLY high-rez monitor). This unfolding case comes in a protective outer transparent plastic case outlining "Tenchi Muyo" on the front cover and "Tenchi-Muyo" in Kanji on the back cover of the unfolding box.

Whether you only give a rat's backside or are destructively obsessed with the Tenchi Muyo series, you would best honor the memory of this timeless series by BUYING THIS NOW.

HIGHS: -"420 Minutes" of Tenchi Muyo, uncut, uncensored, spanned across two discs -Tenchi Muyo Encyclopedia v 3.0 -Bleeding-edge of, razor sharp sound and video

LOWS: -Minute scanlining on video without S-Video jack -English dialogue noticeably faint where drama could be emphasized by actual yelling or crying out -Comics too low-rez to read captions -Some more conservative audiences may not be able to accept Japan's concept of "casual nudity" and may dismiss the entire series as "hentai" after viewing a few scenes

BOTTOM LINE: Get cash, use credit card, buy from Amazon.com, smile freely. View frequently.

Summary: Totally unexpected
Review: The first time I saw Tenchi was about a year or so ago on Cartoon Network.

I had never thought much of english translations of anime, perfering to watch the uncut Japanese episodes whenever I could, as when it is brought to America, it usally winds up rather chopped up due to so called "cultural diffrences" and a bit of flesh once in a while. So when I saw this disc and what features it had, I had to get it!

The remastering is nothing short of facinating. And being able to see the UNCUT Japanese version was a real treat. This is the way anime should be viewed. UNCUT and unfettered by idiotic english dubbing (unlessone actually wants to hear it) and freed from digitally painted bathing suits. Even if one cannot fully understand the Japanese language, these are masterpieces of action and comedy.

Especially "The Night Before The Carnival" episode. This will NEVER be seen on Cartoon Network, as it's humor is very sexual and adult in nature, and no amount of dubbing or digital cleaning would make it suitable for children.

For true adult cartoon lovers, I can safely say that this series is the LOONEY TUNES of Japan. Yes, Tenchi has a lot of serious undertones in it, but it also had my sides aching with laughter a lot of the time as well. And who can't help but not love Ryoko? She is a tough as nails fighter, but sometimes even has a child like innonce about her.

I heartily recommend this DVD set. Hurry up and buy it before it goes out of print.

Review: Tenchi Muyo is definitely my favorite anime series, and if you like it half as much as I do you sould own this. Pioneer did a great job with these DVDs. The picture quality is great, the sound is crystal clear, and it includes both the English and Japanese voiceovers. And it's all completely uncut. You won't see this version on Toonami, there's even an entire episode you haven't seen. This set is a definite must.

Summary: Best anime ever!
Review: This is by far the best anime shows I've ever seen, and this DVD has all 13 of the OVA shows, dubbed and subbed! The dubbed version was also done very well, unlike most other animes... This is the best DVD for any anime fan! And if you've seen the cartoon network (toonami) version only...you haven't seen a thing!

Summary: A Must-have Anime Set
Review: If you are shopping for your first anime DVD set, this is it. This series have all the magic, technology, and character interaction that you want. Due to its graphics nature, probably not a good idea for kids under 14. You always can get the Toonami version.

The story definitely has twists and turns that keeps your attention at all times. It is too bad that the anime was left hanging with something big coming up at episode 13. There are rumors that it may get continued in the future.

The DVD box made my Pioneer is just superior. It is my opinion that Pioneer is the best company that knows how to make DVD sets. The sound is also phenomenal if you have the equipment to demonstrate it.
