Summary: The Best Uncut Season!
Review: I love Bishoujo Senshi Sera Muun, AKA Sailor Moon. I looked at this set shown here, and I saw that episode number 67 was missing. I also noticed that the pictures were different from the one ADV has on its website. I don't know if it really is just a typo, or if there really is no episode 67 in this version. this cover is more politically correct though, because in ADV's they have Sailor ChibiMoon where Dark Lady is on this one. And Chibimoon didn't appear until "S". In "R" we see three forms of Chibi-Usa, Chibi-Usa/Small Lady, Dark lady, and the Moon Princess. If you love Uncut Box Sets like I do, You can order the "S" uncut box set from ... it is an import and has all 38 episodes from the "S" season, where Pioneer only put out 37 episodes even in their uncut format on DVD, without the box. If you want, email me at ... becayse I have asked ADV about the covers and the "missing" episode. This is a GREAT season and will be even better even if they don't have the episode 67.

Summary: Good but not great...
Review: I must say that I'm pretty disapointed in this DVD release. Don't get me wrong... it's great that we finally have a commercialy availalble subtittled version of the original series but there are some serious problems with this box set that's almost incomprehensible.The biggest problem: what the heck is up with the sound quality!? This has to be the WORST sounding DVD I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Some episodes are clear, others are shallow, some are muted while others have a static sound to the voices and music. Some even fluctuate between these qualities in just one episode leading to a very annoying, incosistent product. My old VHS fansubs are of better quality than this, and they're four years old and have been watched many times! Second, the picture quality can vary too although not as much as the sound. In some scenes the screen will move around while in others the colour seems dull and flat, kind of like when someone tries to record a television with a video camera. Lastly, the omission of that one episode. Sure, it may not have been of the utmost value plot wise but it was still a part of the original series. It's also a Sailormoon tradition to have an episode outside of the main seasonal story arc. 3 of the 5 BSSM seasons had such an episode(s). In the end it's hard to chose whether or not to buy this product... if you still have fansubs then stay with them. If not, then go a head and buy this set if you so chose.

Summary: So what if there is an episode missing !
Review: I personaly fell in love with the sailormoon series! However . .Many people have complained to me that the series is dull . . . that its boring . . and such stuff like that! Even though this thing is missing an episode , does not mean the series is stupid . That one episode does not affect the series . . actually , its probably better without it! If u think otherwise, well thats your problem isnt it? ! Anyway. . I do recommend this set, if you are a true fan . .and still enjoy seeing that meatball head, then dont miss out on this set!

Summary: Get Your Episode 67!!!
Review: I think the DVD set was really good!!! I'm really happy I bought them and saw the "real" episodes of the season. I have to admit though, the sound quality isn't that peachy, but there are ways of fixing that. I was extremely angry when episode 67 was not included! And there were a few seconds of English dub in one of the episodes. All this occurs on disc 5. Now...listen up! Buy the dvd set! PLEASE! And if you already have it, go to this website: http://www.iwaynet.net/~sos/advrecall.html Follow their instructions on how to return disc 5 back to ADV studios in exchange for a fixed one with ep. 67 and corrected sub. I think all of us should enjoy the dvds without errors...especially THOSE kinds of errors! Ja ne!

Summary: Sailor Moon Season 2 DVD Boxset
Review: I was really dissappointed in the poor quality of the Sailor Moon Season One DVDs, and it doesn't look like the Sailor Moon R DVDs will be any better. The picture and sound quality will probably be the same, and now we're missing one of the episodes! I'll probably buy this sometime, but for now, I'm in no such hurry.

Summary: Why is everyone complaining?
Review: I was very satified with my copy. The audio isn't great, but its not bad either. The subtitles are great, and I was hoping they'd have a track of the dubbing, but no go. They left out eps. 67, even though they did credit it in the little booklet. It was just a filler, with no real plot. You get to hear the original Tuxedo Mask theme, and hear the voice actors try and say the attacks and transformations in English. Notice, they also use a lot of Mozart, some from the opera "Carmen" and from the movie "Somewhere in Time". I got hooked on the original dubbing, so it took me a while to get used to Serena being refered to as Usagi, etc.
I really hope they come out with the rest of the seasons!

Summary: Just to comment...
Review: I'm sure the missing episode will be a major issue for some people - but, let me just say this. I've seen the episode in question, and trust me - you ain't missing much. Out of all 200 episodes of SM that were made, it's consistently ranked by fans as the worst of the lot. As others have said, it's like the "Summer vacation" episode from SM Classic, but with one difference - *that* episode was actually *fun.* Whenever you have to introduce a baby dinosaur into a series like this, you know there's trouble ahead. Its only appeal is to completists, or to those who just want to see the girls in skimpy swimwear. My advice would be to just forget that particular episode ever happened - it's *completely* outside the main storyline, thus making it easy to ignore. I know I do...

Summary: The second season of Sailor Moon! More than just "great"!
Review: If you ever watched the first season, you'll realize that the quality is even better. Like I said it's the greatest anime. If you would ask a friend if he knows Sailor Moon he'd eventually say "yes". And like I also said the voices suit and you can watch every single scene that DiC flipped. And the music is absolutely fabulous, in both the first and the second season of Sailor Moon.
In other words: I'll stay a loyal moonie til my death. And I feel sorry for every so-called "Sailor Moon fan" who says that this season is even "worse" than the first.
Just buy it! It's worth having in your collection.

Review: If you intend to make a bare-bones DVD, at least try to make sure the video and audio are up-to-par. Not to mention preview and opening placements. It is as if all the money for this project was placed into the box art itself. This is a real shame for stateside fans who have waited so long. ADV could have gotten better quality just by ripping the R2 import DVD's, slapping a sub-title track on it, and selling that. Many people would have been willing to pay more if the quality was worth it. A real shame that Pioneer didn't wind up with the license. The worst part of this is that ADV has nowhere to go if they even wanted to make a better quality version. In all honesty, I would have been perfectly willing to wait a year or so more for "restored" versions...

Summary: Good set, but like its predecessor, it's flawed
Review: INTRODUCTION:
It was in 1992 that the Sailor Moon anime series first aired on Japanese television. The series was based on a manga (Japanese comic book) by Nakao Takeuchi, and for the most part it was a faithful recreation of its manga counterpart. Three years later the series arrived in America - well, sort of. The dialogue was butchered, some entire episodes didn't even air, and some characters not name and even sex changes! Fans of the original have wanted the uncut episodes in America for many years - and at long last, their wish has been answered. Read on for my review of this set. BASIC PLOT:
This is the second of five sagas of the Sailor Moon series, and it is often referred to as the R series. It this series, Sailor Moon is reawakened, as are the other four "Inner" Senshi - Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. The five are brought together once again to battle two humanoid aliens. Once that battle is done with, the true battle begins - the battle against the Black Moon family. This series introduces Chibiusa (although she doesn't become Sailor Chibi Moon until the S series) as well as Setsuna Meiou/Sailor Pluto. The final episode of the set is a "sneak preview" of the S series that follows. SERIES OPINIONS:
This was a great way to continue the Sailor Moon series, and at long last, it can be enjoyed in all its uncut glory. This series doesn't quite top its follower, the S series, but it's excellent nonetheless. I can't stress it enough - if you're going to watch this show, watch the uncut original. DVD:
The DVD is great because it contains uncut episodes with English subtitiles, but the audio isn't too great, as a number of other reviewers have pointed out. Also, the extras are severely lacking. They should have included some interviews with the series creators or original production art as extras - those would have been nice little extras. But the biggest flaw of all is one many other reviewers have mentioned - AN EPISODE IS MISSING! Sure, it's a filler episode, but that doesn't change anything - an episode missing is simply unforgivable. OVERALL:
Overall I feel this is an excellent set. If you're new to Sailor Moon, start with the classic series, and then move on to this one (if you just start watching the series from this point, you may be left confused.) As with most Japanese animes, this is one that must be seen in its original subtitled glory to be fully appreciated.
