Summary: The other complete box set
Review: This is not a review for Trigun the series, although I love that as well and feel it merits the five stars I gave it. This is a review for the other complete box set you may be looking at on the buy used portion of the site. If you're like me, you are skeptical of getting relatively the same thing for an eighth of the price, however after having chanced it and recently recieved the imported addition, I highly recommend it to anyone. The packaging was top notch quality with the same artwork to be found on a few of the Dvd's in the other box set, and as promised it is the same voice acting, the same quality of digital transfer, the same everything you've come to love. The only thing lacking is the Special Features that come with the eight disc edition. The special Features usually amounted to a slide show of various pictures from the disc that it came with, I have never been interested in that sort of thing, however if that greatly matters to you than this is not the set for you. Well i hope this has helped someone trying to decide. Sometimes things are not too good to be true.

Summary: it's good, but you need it in japanese
Review: I will say this. I was really looking forward to watching this series on Cartoon Network when it came out. I had seen all the episodes previously with subtitles and found them hilarious. Then when the big day came I watched about the first ten minutes and promptly turned it off. Why? Because the english dubbed version absolutely positively sucks. I'm not sure if this version is Japanese with english subtitles but if it isn't don't waste your time. Also, if you're to lazy to take the time to read a few subtitles you're missing out on a lot. I also have to say this goes for Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star as well. Take these factors into account. When done in subtitles the work is represented as it was meant to be represented. Not only do the characters voices portray differently but there are whole scenes that have been cut out due to inability to fit words or just censorship by american studios. Such as the scene where Faye walks in on two gay guys going at it in Cowboy Bebop. If you don't believe me go buy the series import. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Summary: fan-freaking-tastic!
Review: Vash is the poster-child for the misunderstood hero. He's a bred-to-the-bone pacifist, but because of his amazing skill with his six-shooter, and the tendency for whole towns to blow up when he's there, people constantly misjudge and fear him. My favorite moments in Trigun are when the various characters Vash meets actually begin to realize who he really is and what he's about. This series also wins my vote for the very best supporting hero ever (Nicholas D. Wolfwood, the gunslinging preacher), and best villain (Legato Bluesummers, the psychic nihilist). The other characters are also all very well done; from the cheerful kindhearted (tall as an amazon!) insurance agent, Milly Thompson, to the dastardly gang of bounty hunters and killers known as the Gung-Ho-Guns, every supporting character has a distinct personality and motives; no cardboard cut-outs here. And if you are a fan of guitar music, the intro song (composed by Imahori Tsuneo) is outstanding! (I am still searching in vain for that guy's album.)And most of all, Trigun is FUN. It's a mad rollercoaster of action, comedy, science fiction and even a little romance all packed into twenty-six episodes of pure anime goodness. I'd even go so far to say that Trigun is more fun than three barrels of monkeys armed with nerf guns and whiffle bats! (But that's just me ...) This is anime at its very best, folks. Not many commercial titles I have viewed in the last year can even come close. Oh, and did I mention that the English dub is also very well done? Rejoice! (Disclaimer: I am a hard core subtitles fan, I can count the number of anime I will watch dubbed on one hand with fingers left over, so by my standards, Trigun is very good.) Even if action series aren't your cup of tea, I highly recommend Trigun because it has so much else to offer. Great characters, a strong story, and excellent use of humor and drama make Trigun a must-see.

Summary: I don't like anime
Review: And there are still elements, like the weird faces and nonsensical cutesie moments, that I may never get used to, but this is some great story telling. No, it doesn't always make sense and there are plot holes you could sling a thomas through, but it really is addictive and Vash is an endlessly interesting character. I'd really like to see a psychological work up on him. Let's start with PTS and dissociative disorder and go from there. Then throw in that saintly nature and childlike kindness. . . Some of the middle episodes do devolve into cartoon predictability, but most have real content, and some interesting positive lessons, as well, about duty, honor, compassion, respect for elders. The spiritual aspects and conflicts are well done and unexpected in this genre. And the Nebraska family has to be one of the most disturbing clans to come along a while, for those of us who think in "how did that happen" terms. Ewwwwwww. After devouring this series on DVD, I was happy to hear that there is a continuation of the story in manga/comic form, Trigun Maximum, and that certain deceased characaters may make a miraculous reappearance. Can't wait for the translated version to come out!

Review: Vash the Stampede is a mystery to everyone around him. He is mandkind's first localized disaster, yet never seems to kill anyone, and has a $$60,000,000,000 capture price on his head. On the outside he looks like a bumbling idiot with a weakness for dognuts, and he is, but there is also a lot more to him that meets the eye.
If you are looking for a soild, fun, and deeply emotion series, you have found the right one. Trigun seems to flawlessly combine an almost impossible mixture of action, humor, sci fi, fantasy, and western flair into a single series. That alone should make even the most picky anime watcher itch with curiosity. For anime fans not sure whether to invest or not, do it. Even if Trigun does not completely win you over, you will not be dissapointed by the end.

Summary: WAAAAAY OVERPRICED
Review: why so expensive for such a mediocre anime i mean it was good but not THAT good the best episodes were the first 4 they were hilarious. the rest of the show was kinda ok not realy all that exciting and the animation was not that good in comparison to Bebop, any of the Gundams(except SD man that show sucks), Outlaw Star, Hellsing, Evangelion. the animation in this show got down right crappy sometimes like when there were explosions and guys were getting blasted away it looked like paper cut outs were getting blown away and the explosions were like 3 unblended colors. it just isn't half as good as the other shows i purchased in the past for sometimes over less than half the price.

Review: After a few hit and misses on Adult Swim (cartoon network), I saw a anime that after the first episode became one of my top 5 favorites. This of course it trigun. The series follows a character named Vash the Stampede. Vash is an unusual person (as you'll find out throughout the series) who has a $$60,000,000,000 bounty on his head for the distruction of an entire city. The thing is, noone knows what he looks like so for almost the first half of the series he is wondering around, trying to help people. I know, a person who destroyed a city trying to help people, well this is just one of the plot twist in this dynamic anime. He is followed by 2 insurance ladies and later on a priest. During the series he runs into groups who are trying to capture and kill him for the money on his head, but always manages to escape, without killing anyone. The series culminates when vash and his brother,Knives, fight it out. This anime good for people who like cowboy bebop, an anime that has emotion, but the plot is not one that takes rewatching to grasp (like rahxephon or Neon Genesis). The sad part is that it ends where it does, it should have went on, but that is the way a lot of anime ends. I recommend this series as a must buy for anime enthusist. Sorry for some of my spelling :-).

Review: It's a bit expensive, but it is worth every penny. Eventhough it is only eight dvds it's the whole show, 26 episodes. I recomend it if you like anime such as Cowboy Bebop, Dragonballz, Inuyasha, and FLCL. I own this and it never gets boring. :)

Summary: An anime original
Review: While some consider it the poor stepchild of Cowboy Bebop, Trigun is quite great in its own right. The entire series follows a specific plotline, and gradually builds to find an answer a single question. That question being, "is it ever right to kill"? The main character Vash, "The Stampede" believes there is always a way around it, and finds bizarre though ingenious ways to avoid killing. He works to prevent others from doing the same as well, often to his own peril. The philosophy here is an Eastern kind of outlook. On display in the animated movie Princess Mononoke as well, the Japanese generally see good and evil as coexisting with one another. The tradition Western philosophy sees good and evil as black and white, good and bad. The Eastern outlook is more of shades of gray. Vash holds strictly to his more Western view of killing throughout most of the series. The series itself gradually narrows his focus, till he has to realize the notion, that sometimes killing the bad guy becomes a lesser evil. Along the journey we are treated to healthy doses of humor, action, and plot ingenuity, unmatched in your everyday animated series. Vash is definitely not your typical hero, and nowhere near the villain he's made up to be, by the "make believe" public perception within the anime. The blend of science fiction, and western in this series works quite well. The concept of seeding a new planet with humans, who essentially become homesteaders, is closely aligned with the romantic notions of the American Old West. The series is a good one to have in your collection, as it bears watching multiple times to get all the plot detail. The side characters are well developed, and therefore do evoke some real emotion, when they sometimes meet up with an unfortunate end. The series was designed for the 26 episodes, not for additional seasons like other Japanese TV anime series. Because of that, it has a definitive ending, and not something open ended to allow for future episodes. The English voice acting is excellent, this is one of the few anime series, and I did not even feel compelled to try out the Japanese voice tracks.

Summary: One of my top 10 animie picks!
Review: I saw all the bad reviews and I can not belive it!, this has got to be one of the best animie cartoons out there. I put this up with cowboy bebop. People complain becasue he doesn't kill people, but there are more then a few (very hihgly rated) animies where the lead charter wont kill people. Thats why we get wolfwood, someone willing to finish what vash won't, a yin to the yang. Get this movie, you will love it. BTW you can see this mon-thur on cartoon network adult swim.
