Summary: more like a strong 3.5 stars
Review: Komada and Koshigaya are biologist battling with humans that are infected with a virus that turns them into demons.

One cool twist is Komada is infected with the virus buts seems to be able to fight the virus off just enough to keep his human emotions intact when he sometimes transforms into a demon himself, this helps Koshigaya alot sence his just a scientist battling demons.

Overall it was a pretty good idea with a simple plot. The picture quality was o.k. and the dolby 5.1 sounded more like pro logic 2.0
Go ahead pick this up you won't be dissapointed, but do notice the anime only last 60 min.

Summary: Bio-Hunter is a thrilling japanimation masterpiece!
Review: Let's get off on the right foot here, I find it very annoying how everyone compares every single anime to Ninja Scroll. There is no better anime than Ninja Scroll, ever! There, we've established that so now lets move forward and view this with an open mind. Imagine present day Tokyo, 4 women dead, bodies eaten, their live ivers ripped out. It isn't your usual weirdo or pervert...it's them. Imagine your a professor of molecular biology and you've discovered a new virus. A virus that turns seemingly normal people into deranged beast like killers with demonic powers..the "demon virus". It sounds far out to your colleagues but one believes you, your friend Kumada, and that's because he's been infected by it. It gets worse..at first it's somewhat of an advantage, he has an extrodinary immune system which means he can fight off the virus and use it at his will and transform into a demonic beast and help you in your battle to save lives and irradicate the virus. But now he's losing control of it, the virus is winning and to make matters worse a powerful political figure who controls the police force and has his private gang of machine gun waving thugs hot on your trail has been infected..and they've got your girl too! If you wanna know what else happens i suggest you buy this movie, watch it and then add it to your top ten anime file right next to Akira and Ninja Scroll.

Summary: Biohunter is very underated
Review: Most anime fans seem to gravitate towards the newer, childish, humor-oriented anime, and forget about the thrillers that made the genre popular in the United States to begin with. Biohunter should be one of those classics. It was made by the same people that made Wicked City and Ninja Scroll, two of the most famous old-school anime movies of all time, and it shows. The basic premise of the movie is that werewolves, vampires, and monsters actually could be real, if there were a genetic disorder that mutated people into these creatures. Two professors are fighting these monsters, and one of them has contracted the "demon virus" himself. The character designs are brilliant, especially for the infected professor. The action scenes are intense, and the animation is top-notch. There is a small amount of gore, but just enough to keep it exciting. It's R-rated stuff, but it won't make you sick like some anime. It's only an hour long, but it's definitely not rushed, and you probably won't even notice how short it is. This is one movie that you shouldn't miss out on!

Summary: Good anime. But not for the kids.
Review: One of the better animes I have seen, Bio Hunter has a pretty original premise. Two men work together to track down "demons". The demons are human but have a disease that causes them to turn to monsters. One of the men handles the medical angle. He has developed a drug that kills off the disease. The other is infected himself but he has an exceptionally strong immune system that allows him to control the transformation.

That is the basic plot and if you want to know what happens to them I guess you have to watch the movie.

So. You might ask. What makes this bad for the kids?

There is one prolonged sex scene right from the get-go. Nudity is sprinkled liberally throughout. Gory violence abounds. There are some disturbing scenes. An example is an attempted rape.

All in all, if you aren't offended by all that then you should give Bio Hunter a chance

Summary: Disappointing.
Review: Regardless of what I have read here, I think this movie is not on the same technical or artistic merit as Akira or Ghost in the shell are. The graphic art is very poor, the story telling is also very badly done. Any one that is not a japanimation fan but does like pictures like the above mention, will find it as disappointing as I have. I do not recommend this title. don't waste your money .

Summary: Watch Wicked City instead
Review: There's good hooror anime, and there's bad horror anime, there's no in between. I'm not a huge fan of horror anime, but most anime has a horror touch in it. I'm also not a fan of the "kiddie" anime that's taking over our airwaves. I can't really say what I do like because there is a chance I'll like anything. I go by my first impression, I give any anime a chance. With that in mind I watched Biohunter. The cover box is very misleading, it makes you think this film was directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll and Wicked City) when it really isn't. However, Kawajiri did write this flop of a film. I do like Kawajiri's earlier work like Ninja Scroll and Wicked City, he always has a horror like story in his films. But Biohunter felt like an updated version of Wicked City, and a bad one at that! Wicked City is a great 80s Anime film, it's very graphic, but it was groundbreaking along with Akira and Vampire Hunter D. Biohunter is similar to Wicked City in many aspects. What made Wicked City so good was it's originality. Originality is something Biohunter doesn't offer. It's story is simple: People are being mutated by a virus known as the "demon virus" (there's some originality!) The virus causes them to turn into monster who must kill humans. So these college professors become biohunters-
and hunt down the mutants. To make the story more complicated one of the biohunters is a mutant himself. And a man with power, who I will not reveal is going around eating people's livers. The story is overused and the concept of monsters running loose in a city needs to be trashed. It was cool in 1987 when Wicked City came out, not to mention Wicked City had a much better plot and was made with precision. Biohunter is just a scar on Anime and should be easily forgotten. Biohunter isn't the worst Anime film, but it's one of the worst Iv'e seen in a while. The only reason I gave the film two stars is because Kawajiri was a part of it. If you want to see good Kawajiri, which he also directed, rent Ninja Scroll and Wicked City. Unlike Biohunter, you will not be dissapointed.

Summary: in a word: strange
Review: this anime is bizarre. I liked it but I think it used the opening scene to draw all the attention and get you to want more. Then it doesn't follow up on it (I won't tell you what happens). Its still a fun anime though. Ninja Scroll is better though

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Pass this up
Review: This is easily one of the worst shows I have seen. With only 45mins to work with there is no character development and the monster designs and fight scenes are nothing special. The final battle is contrived and nothing is resolved. I'm a die-hard fan of anime and it was actually painful to watch this. I reget getting it. With all the good stuff out there pass this one up and get something else.
