Summary: Could have, and should have, been so much more.
Review: I have seen this twice on cable and I tried so hard to like it, but I just couldn't. This has very little to offer in terms of story and character development. I have not played any of the games, besides Tag Tournament. The thing that prevents this from getting one star is that it is worth a couple of viewings but otherwise, stick with Akira, Princess Mononoke, and Ghost in The Shell and avoid this like the plague or if you're a fan of the games and haven't seen this, then rent it first.

Review: I just saw this, and it was okay. The soundtrack is good and the animation is alright, but I found the converted storyline to be rather weak. If you REALLY love Tekken, it would be a good purchase. Other than that, save your money.

Summary: Would've been good if it had been longer or a series.
Review: I made the mistake of buying this thing for full price!The main plot behind the story was there and was plausible, but they tried too hard to get all the main characters into the story and have their say too. Unfortunately, that made the story come out a little choppy, like the entire thing were spliced together from a much longer story and the person doing the editing didin't know what they were doing. While the animation was good--not spectacular mind you, but good--and you really got to like some of the characters, I think there were just too many characters and too little time to be dealt with properly. If they'd allowed more run time beyond 60 minutes, or even a nice little mini-series, they might've be able to pull it off, but they fell a bit short. So three stars for the actual animation, likable characters and even getting the main plot across. But it loses a lot because its presentation was too awkward and too short. If you want to see it, rent it, or get someone to give it to you for Christmas, because I don't think it's worth it to buy it yourself.

Summary: I don't care what everyone else thinks...
Review: I thought this was a pretty good movie. Previous reviewers can just kiss my...well, you know. The storyline was good. They didn't start up abruptly and they didn't end abruptly. The characters featured were well explained. I also thought they were drawn pretty well, overlooking the fact that Kazuya and Heihachi's eyebrows looked like they would eat them at any moment. And the music, oh the music. I have heard so many complaints about the music. So it's not the normal Japanimation music. So they didn't keep the original music as so many other dubs have done. When you think about, at least the music is in English. How many dubs can say that? All in all, I liked it. If I could give it more stars I would.

Summary: Tekken The Movie, Does Not Do Tekken The Game, Justice.
Review: I was looking forward to watching this movie because I was such an avid fan of the Tekken series, produced by Namco, and for the Sony Playstation. However, when I popped it into the VHS, the disappointments started to just roll on in... Initially, the movie seemed good. It's based on Tekken 2 for those of you who know the game series. The beginning really caught my attention, and I was waiting to see what would happen next. However, that's where it all went downhill. The movie evolves around Kazuya (a fighter), and his quest to seek out his father Heihachi in a tournament called "The Tekken". There are subcharacters like Jin Kazama, Nina Williams, and Lei Wulong who do play some small roles. However, that's about it. There is no real character development here. Basically, the animation is subpar, the story just drags on, and the music is weak. If you are a fan of some of the other characters like Law, Paul, King, Bruce, or Baek, forget it. Their main purpose is to just get beat up by the more "prominent" characters. In the world of Tekken (the game), every character is almost worthy of a movie themselves. I was quite amazed by how they attempted to fill all those unique personalities into this failure they call Tekken - The Motion Picture. May Tekken the game live on. May Tekken - The Motion Picture go down in flames! Okay, if you must see it, borrow/rent it only! Do not actually buy it! You'll thank me. =)

Summary: Oh, this pain in my pride...........!
Review: I was very, very disappointed, I can tell you that, man. Buying this movie and not believing the bad critics of the magazines about it was the biggest mistake that I've ever made as an "Otaku" (Manga- and Anime-Fan). I really love the video game series Tekken 1 to 3. But wasting so much potential in this movie..., my god, as a Tekken fan,..., that hurt my honor as a Manga-fan. I mean, the whole story is only about Kazuya wanting to take revenge on his father Heihachi for throwing him down the valley and about Jun Kazama trying to stop him. That's the whole story. Can you believe that ! It's the silliest plot I've ever seen, even some Karate B-movies are much better than Tekken. But moreover, what about the other characters,... okay,... at least the most important ones like King, Law, Paul or Yoshimitsu? I didn't see anything of them, not a single movement. So why were they in the movie as background figures while Alex and Roger or even Kuma get more scenes. And regarding the video game series those mentioned characters are even better and have more cool moves than those "stuff animals". And even the fights were super-miserable: there were no good and fluent combinations. Most were too short and too static, really without emotions. I really didn't expect this movie to be a total failure, but I hope next time the producers don't disappoint me again.....

Summary: Worse than being on the receiving end of a Ganryu bellyflop
Review: I'll get straight to the point...This anime [is bad]! I would rather suffer a hundred Rising Demon uppercuts to the groin than have to watch this movie again. The movie focuses on Kazuya's quest for revenge against his father, Heihachi. Instead of unleashing the Devil inside him and laying waste to Heihachi's stronghold, Kazuya decides to enter the Tekken Tournament and fight his way to his father. The main thing I don't like about this movie is that they only hint at the presence of the Devil Gene. I would have liked to have seen that aspect developed more.
One of the most ridiculous aspects of the movie is Heihachi's plan to destroy the world and rebuild it in his image. Honestly, I never saw the Heihachi in this movie capable of such a feat. He's supposed to be a no-holds-barred bad guy, but they make him seem like an incapable [weakling].
There are a few little sub-plots, but-like the main plot-they go nowhere. One such sub-plot involves Jack-2 (who I can't stand, by the way) trying to cure that little girl who's always riding on his shoulder in the game. With the help of Lei Wu-Long, Jack-2 infiltrates Heihachi's laboratories to enlist some doctor's help in curing the girl. Jack-2 gets...destroyed close to the end of his mission and whether or not the girl is healed is anyone's guess.
My main gripe with this flick is the dubbing job. Most of the voices don't fit the characters. I know this is not unusual for most animes, but it seems like the makers of this movie went out of their way to make the voices as annoying as possible. Kazuya sounds less like a Japanese business tycoon possed by the devil and more like an American body-builder with a fourth grade education education.
The animation is mediocre at best and none of the fights were very interesting. What's even more disappointing is the fact that many of the characters from the Tekken videogame series don't even get to fight. They serve as nothing more than background fodder while the more prominent characters fight dinosaurs. Dinosaurs?! Why-with the dozens of characters to appear in the games-would there be a need to fight dinosaurs?
If you can, rent this first. I wouldn't even say that die-hard Tekken fans will like this. I am a die-hard Tekken fan and I was extremely disappointed with this movie.

Summary: Save yourself the money!
Review: If you actually like the characters in the Tekken game you will be so embarasssed when you see how they are portrayed in this film! Kazuya's english voice actor makes me cringe! Kazuya and Lee were my favourite characters in the game, but in this film they seem to swap roles, with Kazuya becoming the good guy. Wasn't he supposed to be the evil Devil in the game...

Review: It gives you a brief but insightful overview of the Tekken history. This could have been an excellent 2 hour piece of japanimation or the beginning of an excellent series.
